Now I know its not a fine dining steakhouse but dam its pretty close for a third or half the cost of like ruth chris or lawrys. I got rhe 20oz bone in ribe eye...and maje aure you ask for it medium rare, slightly more rare. Thats the sweet spot that will keep it nedium rare to the last bite. They asked me if i wanted sauce and typicallly in a nice steakhouse this would be blashphemy. Buy I agrees to some..you lnow..just in case lol. However...that bottle remained closed and I never used a drop. There was more than enough flavor! I will definitely be back. P.s. the tall beer mugs are no joke!

One of my favorite places for a steak in the Sacramento area. Great salad, Baked potato, beans and more. There are plenty of TV'S to watch your favorite sporting events all around a full bar. The restaurant is always busy, full and a little loud. Probably not the best place to discuss business or romance but if want to enjoy a great meal at a great place full of fun, this is it! Be sure and stop in on your birthday and have everyone sing happy birthday to you!!!

Never again! I have listened to people go on about this place, and now I know for sure most of my friends must think McDonalds is fine dinning. First you know things are going south with food quality when first thing baskets of free bread start appearing. And it only got worse from there. This is supposed to be a steak house. I ordered the Rib-eye. I received a flat tasteless hunk of shoe leather that was passed off as a piece of meat. Really! Denny's $8 steak and eggs has more flavor. NEVER AGAIN!

The service was ok and friendly. We had steak and BBQ chicken. Both were flavorless, tough, dry and chewy. The side green beans were nothing to write home about either. I couldn't even finish the steak it was so bad. Their gluten free choices are not clear at all with the staff or on the menu. One of the reasons we went here was because we read online that they had gluten free options. It was so loud in there we struggled to carry on a conversation. We won't be going back.

Love going to this restaurant for any occasion. The cinnamon biscuits are great and chicken strips are delicious. I recommend this restaurant anytime!!

Everything was good except my Salmon was really dry. I dont think I will order that again. I let my server know and he offered to get me something else but I declined.

Service was good and we got our food in a decent amount of time. I love the phone in wait list so that way you get to cut in the front of the line. The food was good but after I leave there I feel like I need to drink a gallon of water after all of the salt they put on their food and the peanuts I ate! We were a party of six and were seated in one of the booths and it just seemed uncomfortable. They made a mistake with one of our sides but happily fixed it without a problem.

It's easy to say that any dietary issues in modern America can be blamed on places like Texas Roadhouse. Most of their plates could be split by a starving family of four with leftovers for the next day. Expect to be frowned upon by fellow patrons if you don't stuff yourself to the point of taking a moment to motion your friends away because you think you might vomit in the parking lot. Here, over-consumption seems to be a God-given right protected by the U.S. Constitution. Well, God bless America. First of all, you should know what you're getting when you walk in and see a cold case of massive T-bone steaks on display. Venture further and notice the many Texan and American flags, the bits of Americana on the walls, the sports on TV and American beers on draft at the bar, the blaring country music and the peanut shells crackling under your feet. Finally, sit and immediately be served an unavoidable basket of piping hot rolls with creamy cinnamon spread. At this point you should realize the general theme of the Texas Roadhouse and know that loosening your belt is in order. I dived right in with a 16 ounce tenderloin and half rack of ribs combo with a starter salad and a loaded mashed potato. It was all comfort food served, expectedly, without any frills. Eating steak at more upscale restaurants can quickly grow tiresome when you discover it's really just 6 ounces of meat dressed up in sauce and laid over some seasonal vegetable. My steak here was just a succulent undressed slab of beef ready to be paired with the various sauces on the table, with no vegetable in site. My potato was indeed loaded, although I would have liked a better spread of toppings as they all disappeared in the first couple bites. I washed it all down with the larger option of the draft beers. Just when I thought I'd experienced it all, the music was turned up until you could no longer hear each other speak and were forced to watch the servers do a coordinated dance to a modern country classic. It only served as a momentary distraction. I quickly turned back to my meal and stuffed a giant slice of steak in my mouth.

Worse Togo service ever. I called in my order to pickup in 30 minutes and they didn't start cooking my food until I got there. What's the point of pre-ordering?

I came here to order their dinner rolls. Anyway, I waited a good 15 mins for my rolls, and the girl ended up giving me 2 dozens and even apologized to me for the wait. I didn't mind since it was pretty busy that night. We ended up having a whole dozen of rolls leftover! Definitely too much, but it was definitely nice of the cashier to give me a free dozen.

We still go here for lunch once in a while. But, it is way too noisy for dinner. On top of all the people talking, more like yelling, they play loud music. The food we have tried is OK, the prices are just a little high though. Their beef dishes are good. I like their French fries, but the cinnamon butter I don't care for and always ask for plain butter. As I said we will go for weekday lunches, but pass on weekends and dinners. It's way too loud in there.

Crazy good food, waaaay too noisy. Always get sat next to a crying baby. Order to go!

Usually crazy busy everytime we eat here, but they do there best to seat everyone as quick as they can. Food is usually pretty good. Recommend the deep fried pickles and can never go wrong with the chicken.

PEANUTS. ROLLS. STEAK. MASHED POTATOES. LOADED. Familiarize yourself with those words and you'll leave this place a happy person. There's a reason why this establishment is always busy, it's exactly what you want from a steak house. The food here is amazing. The rolls and butter that the give you when you first sit down is one of the things I look forward to when I come here, try not to eat tooooo many pieces or you wont have room for your actual meal. Most times that I come here, I get their sirloin...size varies depending how hungry I am. Usually I pair that with a salad and loaded mash potatoes. That's my killer combination. Their service is usually great, there has been times where it hasn't been up to par but that's very rare. Would I recommend this place? Yes. Give this place a visit, leave and then come again. You'll be satisfied each time.

Great place! The food is amazing. Services here can be a hit or a miss. Sometimes it's hard to get their attention and most of the workers here likes to chit chat. Definitely would come back here again

Ordered a half rack of ribs & they were so overcooked that they were more dry than jerky. I could not swallow what I was trying to chew without the aid of a mouthful of water to wash it down. I was looking forward to their ribs & was so disappointed that I won't return. The only saving grace was the server,Sean, he was great.

I only come here for the buttered bread and the cinnamon sugar butter. Its one of the only Pros I have for this place. The service is not that great. Last time, I was seated and forgotten about for about 20 mins. Then some waters came out along with bread. 30 mins later there was no waitress in sight. So we left. Go for the rolls, not the service. There are better places for BBQ anyways. EHHH-Go if you want the bread.

Food is great, but front area is a mess with call ahead. Shown up for a 0631 literally at 0632 and then had to stand there for 10 minutes waiting to check in while guys in front of me complained. Then when it was my turn I was told then sat it cause I was so late. I said I was standing here and that did not happen. Manager came over and said he called it out five times. Half of the party was here already and they confirmed it was never called. Manager was rude and instantly defensive... So I got mad and walked away. Needless to say I will never return....

Great cuts of beef, and cold beers! Be prepared to wait for a table, make a phone reservation if possible. Always a full house around dinner time. Great service, and friendly staff.

I love this place. It's a meat lover's haven. First thing you'll see mentioned about this place is that it's very busy, and with good reason. This place has GREAT food. Be prepared to call ahead on weekends and especially on holidays. The 2nd thing you should notice is the meat window when you walk in. They give you the option of ordering a steak from the menu or choosing a steak that you see behind the glass. When you get seated, you'll be served some delicious, fresh dinner rolls that come with an amazing cinnamon butter spread. You may fill yourself up just eating these (they are addicting), so make sure to save at least some of your appetite. I don't know of anything on the menu that you could go wrong with. You'll have just about every country side you could want to go with your meals and they are all very well prepared. The main dishes are equally delicious, regardless of what you choose, but make sure you order the ribs at least once. I usually have a favorite dish when going to restaurants, but Texas Roadhouse has me switching up every time I come. Sometimes I'll get the pulled pork and chicken, sometimes I'll get the country fried steak. No matter what I get, I'll always order at least a "kicker" of ribs (a smaller side order you can add if ribs aren't your main course). This place also has a late happy hour, so I can still order the tall mugs of beer after I get off of my late shift. Seriously, writing a review about this place is already making me want to go back.

Great food! Awesome service! Finally came here for the first time and I'd have to say that I love love love the fresh bread they serve & they keep it refilled until food is served. I ordered the gilled shrimp with wild rice with a side of a loaded potato and chilli. Wild rice was amazing! It was cooked perfectly! And it came with a lime ranch sauce for the shrimp and it was very good. Went again the following week and ordered the grilled salmon and that was also very good. Can't stop thinking about that wild rice though, will definitely go there again. :)

Steak, steak , steak! I've tried steak at Logans roadhouse as well as Outback Steak House, nothing compared to Texas roadhouse around Elk Grove. I feel that Texas roadhouse has the better steaks. We always start off with my favorite!!! The hot fresh and fluffy buttered rolls with the yummy cinnamon butter! I ordered the 6 oz sirloin this time because it was the smaller portion for my appetite at the time, that was $10. They have a great selection of sides to go along with the steak. The steak Included two sides, I ordered a cesar salad and mashed potatoes with butter and brown gravy. My steak was ordered medium rare and it came out perfect! The steak was too salty for me today for some reason, and I read a review about another comment being that the food was too salty. Maybe its a certain cook doing this? My dinner was a pretty good dinner over all. Service is always just okay, I feel like it is so busy sometimes that the servers can't handle it.

Delicious Steakhouse! Wish there was a location in Orange County. Had the 10oz Ribeye & it had a lot of marble in the steak, which gave it great flavor. The biscuits w/Apple butter melted in my mouth. The portions are pretty big for the price. The Steak kabobs had juicy flavor & the bell peppers were sweet.

I am addicted to Texas Roadhouse. I usually never order pulled pork in a regular restaurant, but here it is DELICIOUS!! I've also had the pork chops and the Ribeye here. All were wonderful. Most of the entrees come with two sides and they bring the yummy yeast rolls for the table. The portions are huge and we always leave with left overs. If you get here before 3pm M-Sat a lot of the meals are on a happy hour special for $8.99, such a great deal! Splurge on the mushrooms for the steak, they make them SO good!!

Their bread is amazing here. That's one thing which I look forward eating here. It's a chain restaurant and the food is okay. It's for those college students that haven't fully developed their taste bud. Back in olden days, I thought the food was great here but as a develop my taste palete realize it's okay.

I was craving some comfort food for my birthday meal with my favorite kiddo and decided on Texas Roadhouse for their early dining specials and the bread with cinnamon butter. Glad we dined early as there was no wait and were immediately seated upon arrival. I enjoyed my fresh baked bread with scrumptious cinnamon butter while I looked over the menu and after perusing their dining selections I decided to go with the country fried chicken and my son the 8oz sirloin. Both were cooked to perfection and completely hit the spot for my comfort food craving.

3 star for food, 1 for service. I don't like to be super mean on reviews but this place was a bad first experience for me. I'm here with a group of 15 for my friends birthday and we waited a long time to get our seats and we had a reservation. I guess they can't seat us until our whole party was there. I'm like ugh ok.. If that's what they do here. I thought you can be seated at least and order whenever everyone's there but whatever floats their boat. After eating Hella peanuts until our throats were dry, We finally get seated 40-45 minutes after our reservation and for some reason we were short 4 chairs and the waitress was being a b*tch about it and she wasn't doing anything about it! We're over here like "it's Ok, we will just sit at the bar." no no no! I'm not friends with everyone here at this bday dinner cause they were the birthday girls friends and I wouldn't even want them to sit at the bar away from us. Finally we got enough chairs to fit us after several minutes so yaaay. We had 2 waitresses, two blonde girls, deep voices, and all they did the whole entire night was yell across our table. I understand they need to speak up cause the table was long but they were so rude. My friend and I were taking pictures and she's like who's root beer is this?! No one answered on my side cause it wasn't ours. She repeated herself maybe 3 more times and then we're like "why don't you check the other side of the table?" you can tell she was pissed off but I'm like if you see were not answering you on this side of the table, it's not our root beer, so quit yelling! After we ordered, we got our food in maybe 10-15 minutes. I was again, pissed, because the waitresses came out and slid our plates on our table like we were animals. She would be like "pickles! Ribs!" *throws plate on table* rude... Anyways to the food. I got the deep fried pickles which were overly salted. It was good but I needed water after each pickle. The bread they give you is bomb! Probably the best thing I ate that night. And I had the mushroom jack chicken burger which was good too but I've had a little better. The mushrooms were good though. Not much to say about the food because the lady made me so angry lol Towards the end, she was like who's paying separate who's together? We're like just do it all separate, it's easier for you. She's like I honestly don't care it's whatever. I really don't like the way she talks lol everyone at my table was getting so annoyed of her and her little assistant. I wanted to yank my hair out! She handed out our checks and she literally slapped my check in front of me. Dude, if you hate your job, find a better one!

I come here for the bread rolls and cinnamon butter. Got my kids hooked of this place too. No matter what highway you are traveling on a road trip, Texas Road House is the perfect stop to fill your belly with goodness. Don't believe me? You're missing out

My family decided to come here and eat their steaks. When we arrived on a Sunday evening, the parking lot was PACKED. It was difficult finding parking overall. We kept looping around. I recommend calling AHEAD to get your name on the list so you don't have to wait as long. It was really busy when we arrived. We were able to get seated within a few minutes upon arrival. I love the dinner rolls here. It is greasy and chewy, the bread is delicious and the whipped cinnamon butter is amazing!! We started with the cactus blossom (I think that's the name of it). It's the item with the deep fried onions, so good! I like the sauce with it. This is an item you definitely want to share with lots of people. After eating it for awhile, it becomes really heavy. I ordered a bone-in ribeye to share with my sister. We both wanted the caesar side as well, so we got two sides. It was delicious. The steak was juicy and filling enough for both of us. The caesar salad was decent too. I think next time I'll try the house salad. This place is busy and packed, so service is good but minimal. So remember to flag down your server if you want something. I think the dinner rolls and steak is delicious here. The price is also reasonable for such a large steak. I think they brine the meat beforehand.

Today I came to TRH for a family lunch and it was okay, not bad nor good. I ordered the beef tips and a strawberry cooler, the gravy that was on the steak cubes and sautéed mushrooms was REALLY salty. I barely even finished my plate and I also had two sides - seasoned rice and applesauce. I managed to finish the applesauce and took the rest home, the seasoned rice was flavorful but a little on the salty side since the gravy ruined it. Also my drink wasn't as bad either, although it was a little bit too sweet for me that I poured about a few ounces of water to it.

Always great if you don't order a well done steak. My wife and I come here often and we always leave happy because our steaks would always be cooked perfectly. Not blue, but rare. Sides here are ok, but we come manly for the bread. I know it's a lot of carbs, but you'll be satisfied with it once you had it.

Wow. I cannot believe I waited so long to give them a try! Their catfish is yum!! Best eaten the same day and fresh. Fresh made bread. It's like Applebee's meets Outback with Black Angus class! Come hungry! During rushour dinner times.. be prepared to wait a bit. Surprisingly quiet for how many people were in and around, but maybe we just got luckily seated. ;)

Went back again today because my wife got a gift card a couple of months ago and never used it. (march was a very bad month. Our dog passed away after having him for almost 15 years) ........... Anyway........... The server we had was awesome (Whitney).... She was so attentive it was unreal. Smiles all over the place. Never ever once did we want for anything. A perfect server and more so a perfect representative for Texas Roadhouse. My wife and I both ordered a half BBQ Chicken and Ribs. Never got to eat the Chicken because we got to full. The ribs were great. Falloff the bone does not describe how tender they were. Plus they were actually really hot... steam came off of them. Rolls were the usual..... great ! We saw the server we had a week before. Still no smiles. Something must really be bothering her. She is not happy at all, and it shows. Back to the food. I would have given Texas Roadhouse 5 stars this time but when another server brought our side salads, some of my wife's salad was dumped on her by accident when the server put the bowl down on the table. And then there was the Chicken ...... LOL LOL ............ This was funny. Now we both ordered the 1/2 BBQ Chicken. Mine looked like it was put on a diet or was just a sickly scrawny Chicken because of how small it looked compared to my wife's. My wife's plate of Chicken looked like it was on steroids. You put them side by side and you would think that something was wrong with my plate of Chicken. My Chicken breast was thin and flat, and my wife's Chicken breast was large and plump. So because of those two things , all I could give them today was 4 stars. Oh by the way ! The staff at the doors were awesome too. Smiles all over, coming into the place and leaving too.

i usually come here for one thing and one thing only: the prime rib. Ok i lied, maybe i come here for the bread and the cinnamon butter too, but the prime rib here is yummy! i love the environment here: loud and energetic! it can get super packed so come early or be prepared to wait for a while! the front hostess can be eh at times. one time when i came in, the hostess said that it would be about a 15 minute wait, came back after 15 minutes, she told us that it would take another 30 minutes. wtheck? after that 30 minutes had gone by she told me another 15 minutes. get your wait time together! i was so annoyed that night that we ended up leaving. heck no teckno was i about to wait another 15 minutes after being told twice two different waiting times.

Love their bread rolls with cinnamon sugar butter! SO AMAZING. I believe they sell the bread rolls if you wanna just go in and grab some or even buy some after your meal. I promise they're delicious. I've been here a few times over the past few years and I feel like the 2 sides that come with most entrees got a lot smaller. Their prime rib is usually good and I think the new york steak wasn't bad either. Make sure you ask for medium rare if you want slight pink because they tend to over cook. Service is usually really nice but kind of slow. You get to eat peanuts and throw them on the floor though lol. I don't care for peanuts but I like watching people have a good time eating it.

Best steak in town, for a reasonable price. I've been to the more fancy "upscale" steakhouses, and this is a better steak for half the price. Great service every time I go on there. The homemade rolls are awesome. You have to try the sweet potato side dish. It is a whole sweet potato with butter, brown sugar and marshmallows. It tastes like sweet potato pie. DELICIOUS!!! It fills up fast as it opens, so if you have to wait a little, it's worth it.

I used to come here a lot when I lived closer. My parents loved this place and would drag me along as a teenager to have dinner with them and their friends . Before my boyfriend and I had gotten together, he would come here to dine alone when he first moved to Sacramento. It's one of his favorite places to dine in and he no longer has to dine alone now that I'm in the picture :) I think I've tried just about everything on the menu . Including their margaritas and even virgin drinks . You've probably already heard it, but their rolls are heavenly ! Don't forget that amazing cinnamon butter . Yum! The onion blossom is a great appetizer to start with . I always prefer ranch instead of the sauce that comes with it though . You really can't go wrong with their salads or meat dishes. They're all great! But. In case you have trouble deciding , just ask your yelp friend Dale N. He's there every week it seems :)

Texas Roadhouse, if we can all admit that we come here for their bread with cinnamon butter. It's basic but so good. The entrance to this place is behind all of the gas stations on calvine and power inn. The building is brown/wooden looking. When you walk in there's a huge waiting area with peanuts to snack on. You can dump the shells on the floor. Convenient for us but sucks for them. Host to your right. They have a full bar. Stool seats and booths. Mostly booths. The menu offered a lot of BBQ, appetiZers, a lot of selections for kids and adults. I've been here a few times, so I'm finally ready to write a review. What I ordered: steak and half ribs with a house salad and steamed veggies. You know their food is ok. Their flavor is ok. Their food is dry. The sides that they offer are ok as well. I've had BBQ before and I've had better. It's not a bad place but it's not amazing either. Everything just taste so dry to me. But I really enjoy the bread and the sweet tea. Lol. The atmosphere is great and service was always wonderful. But the food was always ok. Of course I'd come back, but not too often.

I love coming to Texas Roadhouse. Everything here is delicious but their prime rib is TO DIE FOR. Their rolls are amazing. I have to stop myself from eating them because I could seriously sit at the table and eat tons of them without ever touching my actual meal. The prime rib is flavorful and always cooked the way I order it. The side dishes are ALL awesome but I love getting their caesar salad. Something about their dressing is amazing. Their alcoholic drinks are very tasty too and I like that their beers come in larger sizes. If you go in before 6 PM, they have a list of items that are cheaper but still the same quality of food you'd expect from them and you still get the 2 side dishes. My boyfriend and I tend to eat dinner early so whenever we come we don't have to wait. The staff has always been attentive and friendly. Seriously I have NO complaints about this place. If you haven't been to Texas Roadhouse you need to go.

For a franchise, Texas Roadhouse sure knows how to knock it out of the park. They've definitely won me over, starting with their bread and cinnamon butter, to their endless cuts of beef, and their $6.50 original margaritas -- need I say more? Oh, and FREE PEANUTS! Get one of their combos so you can try the ribs and another protein! I suggest the ribeye, but honestly, everything here is delicious. The service, however, can be hit or miss, unfortunately. Other than that, I love this place. TIP: CALL AHEAD FOR THEIR "call ahead seating." They give you a time as a "reservation." You show up by that time and you literally wait about 10-15 minutes for a table. Definitely comes in handy during the weekend!

It had been a few years since my last visit to Texas Roadhouse. Somehow, the rolls and cinnamon butter always seem to draw me back in. Hey, I love carbs and I'm not afraid to admit it. The rolls here are amazing and the cinnamon butter add a nice buttery sweetness to an already amazing roll. Do yourself a huge favor and order the onion blossom for an appetizer. Honestly, between the rolls and the appetizer you're more then likely going to be pretty full. However, I like to live dangerously...and on this occasion, I decided that I wanted to order the "Road Kill" as well. The Road Kill is a 10 oz chop steak that is smothered with sautéed onions and mushrooms, as well as melted jack cheese. You also get to choose 2 different sides to pair with your steak. I decided on mashed potatoes and a small bowl of chili. Everything about this dinner was amazing. The chopped steak was cooked to perfection and had so much flavor, it did not need any sauce. I love A-1 sauce and I did not reach for it once during this meal. The chili was thick and hearty and the mashed potatoes was the icing on the cake for this meal. They were light yet creamy. Overall, this dish was a 9 out of 10. The Road Kill has just became my favorite platter at Texas Roadhouse. Customer service here was impressive. Our waiter (sorry that I didn't get her name), was attentive and gave us a non biased opinion of her recommendations. Our waters were always kept full and we received our dinner in less than 15 minutes. Huge shout out to the staff here, you guys are amazing.

Junemarie our waitress was amazing!!! It started with her positive goodness. She took really good care of us to the point I didn't have to ask for anything! Besides ordering our meals where I ordered BBQ chicken with my two sides which were green beans and steamed broccoli. My HB had the chicken critters (fried chicken strips) with chili and french fries for his sides. We snacked on peanuts which you have to go and pick up in the corral prior to sitting at your table or after. By the way the corral is in the foyer area where you are waiting for your table. The waiter or waitress does bring you buttery rolls. We got seconds on the rolls! They were so yummy!!! Both my HB and I got to this restaurant super early that certain items are cheaper before 6 pm. We got our entrees for two dollars less than the usual price. I know if you get to this restaurant late you can be waiting awhile for your table. We always come during hours that are not too busy bc mainly I hate to wait especially when I'm starving!!! The main reason why we came is bc I received a birthday email from Texas Roadhouse where you can get a free sidekick of ribs or legendary appetizer. I went with their ribs as that's always what I normally order as a main entree by itself! Lately I can't eat a lot of beef so getting a side order of ribs was just right!!! I shared it with my HB and it was the usual fall off the bones ribs TDF!!! I did eat all of my veggies but had to take home my main dish the BBQ chicken! I just can't eat like I used to. By the way that email about the ribs or appetizers expire 6/17/15! A huge surprise for me that made me excited was my free birthday sundae from Texas Roadhouse. Junemarie came by and slid the ice cream in front of me and wished me Happy Birthday! I was eating my bread too but was so thrilled that I forgot to take a pic of the complimentary bday ice cream!!! Did you know our meal was under twenty dollars? It was super reasonable plus we had the best service I have had in a long time!!! We tipped our waitress well & why aren't you here??? Give me no such excuse plus we noticed they are opened later on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday! We just happened to be there on Friday and I'm sure we will be back!

Have come here twice now and both times, it's been about a 3-3.5 star experience. Three for the food and four for the chill atmosphere and awesome customer service from their employees. This place doesn't pretend to be something that it isn't. Keeps it simple and executes well enough. That said, most everything here is waaaay too salty. We've gotten the ribs both times and both times they were good enough. On the other hand, the fries both times were ridiculously over salted, so would definitely ask them to go extremely light on the fries if you get them. LIGHT, I tell ya! Everybody loves the bread and cinnamon butter spread or whatever it is, but it's not for me at all. Just don't like it and I love carbs. Weird. Who knows. Prefer the complimentary peanuts more, but like everything else here, those are too salty as well. Not the best, but not the worst either. Don't mind making return visits here, because you'll get a ton of food for the price and I like places that have great customer service.

...went to a texas roadhouse awhile back on a friday or saturday night with my girlfriend... she was hyping this place up since her brother used to be stationed out at travis some years ago... my girlfriend had the pulled pork dinner and i had the grilled bbq chicken... we had the unfortunate luck of having bbq baked beans days prior and having the pulled pork dinner at texas roadhouse definitely gave us more of the bbq sauce flavor that we were trying to avoid... honestly this was probably her bad because it does say that they serve the pulled pork with bbq sauce but thats what she felt like ordering but anyways (didnt read the fine print lol)... anyways 'roadhouse' gives u some pretty generous portions and friendly hospitality... got a coupon for a free appetizer since this was my first visit... despite the food being a bit salty the entire night went well because of the outstanding service (i think the servers name was donny, johnny or bobby)... this is probably my second steakhouse that ive been to the first one being wood ranch bbq in oxnard... by far wood ranch is best however i wouldnt be opposed to making a return trip to the 'roadhouse'... texas roadhouse gets 3.5 stars in my book...

Free cinnamon butter bread rolls and peanuts! My family and I come here quite a bit. Service is sometimes lacking but its a hit or miss. The foods I like to eat here are their prime rib (come early if you want a piece that's still dripping blood), ribs, blossom onions, and or ribeye. Ask the server to order a larger cut steak not offered on the menu. You get two sides per entree. Food overall is good which is why we keep coming back.

Came here for 1st time the other day & was pleased with the food & service. I can see why this place is usually packed. I drove by once a few months back wanting to try, but there was a line out the door (I'm impatient when it comes to dining. If place is busy, I'd rather try the next place down the street than wait 30min in line.) Friends have told me this place is pretty good, so I gave it another shot. I'm not fan of country music, but I understand it's part of there theme here. Staff is helpful & friendly, so no issues there. The food is pretty good for a chain restaurant. We finished our breadrolls which were good & we were brought extra without us having to ask. The menu is reasonably priced, our total bill was pretty good (2 plates of food + 3 margaritas, 2 w/kicker for around $40). Margarita's w/kicker are pretty strong, I got a pretty good buzz of 2 of them. Full service bar as well. The only issue I had was that they play the music a bit loud plus you add the crowd noise of a packed house, it's pretty hard to have conversation, you sort've have to talk loud but without yelling. Wouldnt mind coming back.

It's been 2 years since I came. Today is the day I want some delicious dinner rolls. Lol. My family loves this place. It's yummy and the portion sizes are huge. I notice that the dinner rolls is not the same. I think they change the recipe. It's still hot, soft and buttery. But it's not the same as how I remember it. I just hope they bring it back. The service is okay: they come, take your order and bring you the check. We're here for the food, we don't care for the service.

I would give this place 0 stars if I could. I called to place my order and the person on the phone said it would be ready in 20-30 minutes. I arrived 30 minutes after placing my phone order. I ended up waiting over an hour for my order. First off, I was not acknowledged when I walked up to the pick up area. Then, after I asked her to help me and told her name for my pick up order, she said it wasn't ready and said it will be out soon. She disappeared and I never saw her again. After almost an hour, I spoke to someone else who said she would check. She was gone for awhile and when she came back, she said it was almost ready. When I finally got my order, both steaks were cold. The only thing warm was the bread. Ridiculous. I will not be returning and I discourage others from eating at this restaurant.

I loved everything I ordered. Steak was amazing even well done with no steak sauce needed. Ribs were fall off the bone and melted in my mouth. Loaded mashed potatoes were the best I have had. Even the mixed veggies were favorful. We had had a hour wait time and it was definitely worth the wait. Good service as well.

I usually come here not really for their steaks but for their free breads lol... They're so freaking yummy! They're usually hot and fresh. I've tried a variety of steaks here before but my default has always been the ribeye. The steaks there were alright but for whatever reason, always a bit salty. My sides were always steak fries and plain sweet potatoes. The fries are always salty. They put way too much salt/seasoning in it. The services have been pretty decent. Pretty consistent from all the times I've been there. Going to a steakhouse, it is already a given that the prices won't be cheap. The prices here are not too bad overall. Of course if its cheaper, I would be so much happier :D. This has always been my go to steakhouse even though they are not the greatest. Yup, it is because of their bread lol..

This place gets pretty busy but loving their food especially their ribs, just delicious! The services are great. The waitress even took off our appetizer order because of a mix up! Got free appetizer!! I also enjoy their drinks..they make it pretty strong.. Got myself a skinny lime!

I'll just write a review of this place while waiting for our entree. It was a packed Sunday, and the wait wasn't so bad to get a seat (30 minutes for me and my friend). We got seated and waited for someone to come and greet us. 40 minutes later, we were sitting quietly because we were disappoint that no one have not yet helped us or served us any water, and my friend was thirsty. We were thinking about leaving, but my friend wanted steak, and there is no other place around the area except for Outback Steakhouse, so we decided to stayed. A couple minutes later, I asked the bartender if we can get help because no one has helped us; therefore, SHE helped us and felt really bad. Wow, I've been through a lot of poor customer service, but this has to be the worst. I will never come here again even if the food is fuckin' amazing.

I LOVE everything about this place. The food is amazing. I cant stop eating those bread rolls. The staff is fun and and welcoming. Yes there may be peanut shells on the floor but I think that is what makes it fun and more laid back than going to a fancy restaurant. Sometimes I dont want to have to get dressed up to go out. The atmosphere was awesome and everyone seems to be having a great time. Love this place.

The waiter/waitress never came, we sat at the table for an hour waiting. At first I just thought they were busy but after the table behind me left and a new group came they were helped immediately. After that my friend flagged them down for service. However, they ran out of prime rib so I opted for steak and they subsequently ran out of my sides as well. Probably not the best day to show up.

Tonight was ok. We waited quite awhile for our food. (This is the 2nd time that this is happened, the first time happened the last time we came. We waited so long we ended up getting our meals comp'd.) My country fried chicken was only warm when it came out (usually it's so hot you can't touch it. The music was really really loud, kinda scratchy. You couldn't talk across the table. Texas you disappointed this time.

The rolls and cinnamon butter was delicious. Went through 3 baskets of the rolls. Each basket was warm and seemed they came right out of the oven. Our waiter was really good and very friendly. Great food. Will definitely be coming back.

Good place to eat some steak if you want it made the way it's supposed to be made. I come by every now and then for a steak and drinks. The bartenders here are just great! The only place in town where you can get a Rib Eye that's made to perfection.

Stopped in for a late lunch with friend it was amazing as always. We tried a rib eye steak with shrimp combo plate....as always the steaks were tender and great flavor the grill shrimp are probably best I have had....can't wait for birthday to go back. You only live once enjoy the taste of life's fine food

The food is four stars. I had a Texas combo with SIRLOIN STEAK with Ribs. Sides were baked potato and Chili. The sides were on the spot! Sirloin steak was perfectly cook to perfection, however the rib were a bit burnt.

Fun atmosphere, although it definitely gets loud in there on a weekend night! Great service and the food is consistently good. This is a peanut shells on the floor kind of place, cozy and casual. Fave app is the rattlesnake bites and really like the rolls. Steaks are always cooked right and ribs fall off the bone, and very good burgers. Beers are freezing cold, and they have nice happy hour deals. I've been told the margaritas here are very good. The occasional serving crew line dance routine keeps it festive and fun , definitely a favorite TGIF spot!

I didn't expect much from this place, but I loved it! You can eat peanuts while you wait for your table (which is likely because this place is packed!) and then throw 'em on the floor! The complementary dinner rolls were insanely delicious. It's like biting into a soft, sweet, buttery cloud...that you can spread honey, cinnamon butter onto. I have to physically push the bread away to stop myself from eating too many rolls while I wait for my actual entree to arrive. The steak here is perfection and SO ridiculously affordable. I love how you can customize your order to get a 6 oz piece of sirloin or a whopping 20 ouncer based on how hungry you are or if you want to share. If you order medium-rare, it will be medium-rare, so don't worry about requesting a less "done" piece of meat in anticipation of the chef overcooking it. The steak is tender, juicy, and flavorful. You can add toppings to your steak, like gravy or grilled onions, but it doesn't need it. Loved the mashed potatoes; they're loaded with cream and butter, but that's fine with me! Wedge fries were pretty good too and you can load up your potatoes with extra cheese and sour cream for $1 more. Strawberry Cowboy Cooler was really yummy - pureed strawberries, cranberry juice, and lemonade, with maraschino cherries. Service was friendly and attentive. I didn't pay attention to how long it took for the food to come out...rolls were too distracting. Great option if you're really hungry and just want a casual night out with friends or family. If I'm back in the area, I'll definitely be back!

We've been here a few times, and were never that impressed with food or service. On more than one occasion they managed to fumble our order in some way, and anything we've eaten hasn't really hit the spot. Just very middle of the road for us. The service has been just okay, although one visit we had an awesome server! It can get super loud in there too, which is no fault of theirs, just letting y'all know to be prepared to holler across the table at one another and maybe at your server too, hah. Now we only will go there for parties, get-togethers, or meetings that we're invited to.

The food is great and you are able to order off menu. The staff is friendly and really makes an effort to give good service. My only gripe is that if you do not use the call ahead seating, you will wait forever, and they constantly lie about the wait 15-20 minutes turns into 45 minutes quickly. So use call ahead seating and show up 10 minutes after they say the wait is going to be and you will walk right in to be seated.

So much food. Huge portions. I was full after the peanuts, rolls and salad. This is a great place to get your grub on. Excellent service (a 10) the music was to loud. Other than that "good times".

Meat meat meat REDRUM! If you're a MEAT lover. If you're a sweet bread lover. If you're a balloon animal lover. If you're a peanut lover. Well, this is the place for you! I've been here a few times but I would come here more often if it was closer to where I live. Each time I come here I am happy and amazed at how delicious my food tastes. I also like how they give a description of how they cook their meat - like their definitions of medium, medium well, well, etc. Quite handy! Hubs and I usually split an entree. Our usual is the ribeye with a side of ribs. Mmm their ribeye is so soft and grilled to perfection. Excellent char on the outside and juicy goodness on the inside. The ribs are definitely fall off the bone good. The ribeye is very well seasoned and I never have to use any sauce when I eat it. The wait for a table can be ridiculous. I always like to call ahead to put my name down because by the time I can gather my family together and we drive there it's about time to be seated. Awesome! Service is pretty good. Everyone seems really upbeat and into their job. Sometimes the bread lady sees us waiting for a table and my dad is just drooling over the bread and she gives him a basket. How nice! The waiters never fail to refill our drinks and bring another bread basket by. Thank you! Ok now I'm off to massage my food belly after a full hearty meal.

We always love coming here and tonight was no exception. We had the greatest waitress in Texas Roadhouse history. Melissa was attentive, patient and extremely helpful in meeting all of our requests. We will definitely be back and will hopefully get her again. She's young but does it the old school way! Thank you Melissa for your great service! You're awesome!

Just got done with a late night dinner with a group of friends and right off the bat service was terrible. We were sitting for a good ten minutes without our server greeting us or with waters. Our server finally came and her name was Teresa I believe. She seemed a bit annoyed, angry or rude I don't know. She wasn't very friendly to our table but whatever I'm just there to eat. I got the prime rib which was perfect and my friends got the bone in rib eyes and catfish. We were all satisfied with our meals! I only knocked off stars because service could've been so much better. I'm a server myself and it takes more effort to be rude than to be friendly.

This place did not live up tot he hype. My father-in-law went on and on about how great this place was. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't that great either it was ok. The 3 stars are for the service. the Service is awesome. But food wise, ok but not worth what we paid. Bj's has better steak then this place.

This is one of my most favorite restaurants!!! I love to come here to order dinner with the House Salad and Baked Potato as my sides. I then proceed to eat their most delicious bread and their yummy salad that could be a meal in itself and take home the entree and the potato. Two dinners for the price of one. Talk about getting a great deal! Woohoo! My husband loves the ribs...they fall off the bone. Tonight we redeemed our free appetizer for their Cactus Blossom with chipotle sauce. Our server, Kaelyn, was awesome. She's the one who suggested the Cactus Blossom and, in addition, was constantly checking on us, making sure everything was okay or if we needed anything more. We will definitely be asking to sit in her section again!!!!

Brought my boyfriend here for his birthday and I was very disappointed. We were seated immediately, which was nice, but that was the highlight for me. We ordered out drinks and an appetizer to start. When our drinks were brought out, we then ordered our meals. After about 15 minutes, our meals were brought out. Still no sign of the appetizer. We told the food runner to cancel the appetizer because we don't want it after the meal has already begun. The waitress came to ask us if we still wanted it if she took it off the bill, we said no. A food runner still brought it to the table less than 5 minutes later. We turned it away. My food was terrible. The green beans are canned and swimming in a pool of grease and seasonings. The catfish smelled too fishy to be fresh. The only good part was the loaded sweet potato. My boyfriend liked his meal except for the rice. The seasoned rice was gross.

It was very close to closing time when I arrived, and the waitresses were realllly friendly! Very great service! The food was great and was served quickly. I was even able to order take out when it was still closing time. The only thing I didn't get were the peanuts :(

This place is always busy, no matter what time of day it is. Fun, festive atmosphere with typical roadhouse fare in MASSIVE portions. If you can eat all of your food you should enter a competitive eating circuit. The smothered chicken is total comfort food - fried chicken covered in peppery white gravy. And I could live off of those rolls and the cinnamon butter! You can apologize to your scale later.

So my daughter and I decided to treat ourselves to a nice dinner Wednesday because it was just the two of us. We decided to go to Texas Roadhouse. We got Sean as our waiter. He was fantastic. Friendly efficient funny, and not so in your face. Before we even had the chance to ask for a refill he new drinks on our table. I could go on and on. We ended up going to speak to the manager, because I wanted someone else to know how great he was. Best of luck to this kid, and remember when you go there ask for Sean and tell him Kim and Kayla sent you.

I'm probably retaining water after having the steak here. Super SALTY! What bugs me is that the steak was a nice cut, nice size, cooked to my specifications, but one bite and I could taste the salt. I literally had to take my napkin and pat it down.. in which case, my napkin got all the juicy steak sauce that oozed from it. SMH! My meal also came with ribs. Yes, I got the combo! The ribs were definitely fall off the bone...BUT it was dry :( They basically burned the sauce while grilling it , making the ribs tough and chewy. The sides...CANNED. Super sad face. I ordered the corn, which I thought was going to be corn on the cob. But was surprised to find it buttered and just as salty as my steak in a small bowl. The green beans were the same thing. I hate canned veggies. And then to make them salty...was just eww all over the place. I guess that's what you get for a meal that costs $21.99. I'm pretty sure I'd rather spend a little more and get fresh veggies and just quality food all around. The service was good. Our waitress, Harmony, was nice and made sure we had everything we needed. Thank god I ordered a margarita with a patron shot. Definitely helped me get through my meal.

This past experience makes it hard for me to come back simply because if you have a party of 9 or more, you'll be sitting in 2 different tables. I came here for my birthday with my family and there was 10 of us total and 6 of us sat at one table and the other 4 sat at the table across from the other. They still charge 18% gratuity even though we we had 2 tables, 2 servers, 2 separate checks that they couldn't cash out together. We ordered cactus blossom and fried pickles for appetizer and was passing it back and forth between the tables and had to yell at one another to hear what the other table was saying. Not exactly a good way to try to ask my nephews and nieces how school was for the day. For my entree, I ordered the steak and ribs combo w/ a side of seasoned rice and buttered corn. The steak was a little too salty for my taste but it was juicy and perfectly cooked. However I got so full off the bread and appetizers that it looked like I didn't even touch my entree and had to packed more than half of it to go which is a shame because steaks are never the same the next day.

Love this place!! We eat here often. Great food, affordable prices and always extra friendly staff! The only thing I can say I wish they'd change is the line-dancing by the servers, we often take visitors there, and if we are lucky enough to witness this, it's very hard to see unless you are seated in the special area. I hope they will dance more often, and let all their customers be able to see it. It really changes the atmosphere and makes everyone happy.

My fiance and I drive by this place all the time on Hwy 99, and keep saying "We should try this place sometime!" Well, we finally did today, and I wish we had sooner. The food and service were both fantastic. We called ahead and put our names on the waitlist, since we knew it gets busy (the lot is always full). When we got there, we had to wait all of 2 minutes to be seated. As an aside, during those 2 minutes, we were wondering why they had 4 girls just standing around; we found out soon enough, when one of them promptly grabbed a basket of bread and led us to our table. We had read here on Yelp that the bread with the cinnamon butter was good, and I can confirm that it, in fact, is. Russell came by pretty quickly to take our drink order, and quickly returned with my beer and her water. He didn't give us any grief for ordering one entree to split (we'd been baking cookies all day, so we weren't *that* hungry), and we got the ribeye/rib combo with chili and ceasar salad. I think even if we hadn't been eating cookies all day, the one entree with the two sides probably would have been enough for the two of us (with the addition of the bread, of course). The steak was cooked perfectly (medium rare) and was seasoned well (no steak sauce required); the ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender, and the sides were okay, but next time I'd probably go with the sweet potato. Russell was very attentive and had a good attitude (which is all I really ask for in a server), the food was great, and we never felt like we were waiting too long for anything (especially considering how busy they were). We will definitely be coming back.

I came here twice in the past year and I had mixed experiences. The first time I visited I had a pretty good time. I ordered the Roadkill dish which was surprisingly tasty. Their cheese fries were quite filling and their ribs were pretty good. The second time I came here was with my friends and all of us just thought the food was OK. We ordered steaks and they came out small in portion and overall lacked flavor. I have to admit the salad I shared with a friend was better than my dry steak. The sweet buns that is provided to each table is really good though. Slather some butter on them and you'll be quite a happy camper. Service was just ok - nothing spectacular but nothing that I have to complain about either. I think the concept of the restaurant is interesting though. I like how you can grab some peanuts and eat them out of a brown paper bag while you wait for your waiter to stop by your table. It gives the restaurant an authentic Western feel when you walk around a wooden floor scattered with peanut shells. Overall I wouldn't come back any time soon. The food was just ok and it's a bit of a drive away for me to visit.

Woe Nelly! Food was wonderful. Took the whole family and of course my kids didn't eat there meals which cost me about $7.00 Per meal after taxes. $28 down the drain....eventually... You know.. The toilet drain. Not good for picky eating children. Not worth it. The waitress appeared as if she. Had it all together but really sucked. Every time she came to our table we were reminding her of something she forgot. Of she were blond, I'd say she was having a blond moment but she was far from it. Matter of fact she was black...with corse hair (:}) eventually she bagged my salad to go. A card board like box whereby my salad (which carries water) soaked the box by the time I got home. She stunk! Yes I'll be back here again cuz I am a passive aggressive communicator.

I wish I could give different stars for different aspects of the business. But unfortunately I cannot. Tessa who was our server was nice and helpful, unfortunately the cooks were awful. I had to send my food back when I ordered medium well, and my meat was raw. Sent it back and the only thing that looked different was that the plate was a mess when I got it back. The meat was still bloody. Last time I checked medium well was only slightly pink. The manager tried to help out, but we were already up and ready to leave, not to mention the fact that I was disgusted. Stinks because my son loves it here, but I don't think we will be returning, definitely not anytime soon. I do appreciate Tessa being so attentive and offering other menu items, but I wanted what I wanted. And what I got was not what I asked for. I guess we will be giving our business to Logan's steakhouse down the street.

My girl friend took me to the Texas Roadhouse for my birthday. I know, I know, she is completely awesome! Anyway, I ordered a steak medium rare with a green salad, sweet potato, and apple sauce as my side dishes. I always order a green salad when I eat steak because when you eat a steak you need plenty of those digestive enzymes and green salad has plenty of those digestive enzymes. I also always order the sweet potatoes because I have heard they are good for me, only I always get it loaded with butter, sugar and marshmallow so I am not so sure just how good they really are for me. Anyway, it was my birthday and you are allowed to eat yourself to death on your birthday so not only did I get all the stuff with my sweet potato, but I also got apple sauce as my third side dish and poured it over my sweet potato as well. My steak came out of the kitchen looking almost as sexy as a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model. The aroma was magnificent. I am telling you I have never seen anything so beautiful in my life. It was cooked to perfection with just the right amount of marbling, letting me know that I was going to be digging into a juicy, tender, flavorful chunk of beef. I immediately picked up my knife and fork and my knife easily floated through this sensationally perfect cut of beef exposing the wonderfully sensuous secrets that hid within. Its seared brown exterior quickly gave way to delicate pretty pink flesh finally succumbing to just a tinge of red in the center. I think I might have been drooling when I put that first tender little morsel in my mouth. I am sure I closed my eyes to savor the moment and then "holy shit, who dumped the box of salt on my steak"? In the past I have usually ordered the chicken fried steak with plenty of gravy and I think it is one of the best chicken fried steaks I have had in a restaurant. I think I will stick to that from now on. I have had the ribs and they are pretty mediocre so again I think the chicken fried steak is the way to go, especially if I ask for extra gravy. Better yet, next time maybe I should just ask them to hold the salt on my steak.

It's funny the servers kept wanted to give me other peoples food. They came to my table 3-4 times, put the food down on the tray ready to be served and asked who ordered this and that. My party and I was like wow thats fast that can't be ours? Then they asked did you order this and we were like uhh...no?? Then the servers look at each other and bring the food back to the back and finally figure out which table it should've gone too. By the 4th time the servers said "wish the waiter/waitress would write down the correct tables". This whole time I'm thinking I hope they don't mistake our order and walk around trying to figure out which table it should go to while our food gets cold. We get out food okay and everything was good. Their steak is always really tender and flavorful. I would give Texas Roadhouse more stars if it weren't for the seemingly unorganized staff.

One of my favorite restaurants to eat at. The bread and butter is the best I've ever had! They also have great salads and appetizers. The whole menu is delicious. I have yet to have something from here that I haven't liked!

We travel all the way Roseville to Elk Grove to enjoy the ambience, food, and fun that is TRH! Can you please build one in Citrus Heights, Roseville, Folsom area???

Went to happy hours and the margaritas were delicious. All items from the appetizer combo were also delicious. Then I ordered a full rack of ribs to go... The meat just fell off the bones tender. My sides - string beans with bits of bacon (OMG never had them so good) and mashed potatoes .. And their rolls that taste like cinnamon buns.. I could go on. Everything I tried was oh-so-good. In love with this place.

Hah! There are still some good wait staff in this world. Haven't got my food yet but all the treats are great so far. Alex our server is such an awsome guy, all I have to do is look around at the things hanging on the wall and he is here asking if i need somthing.

My hubby and I didn't want to travel far for dinner and this place so happens to be within the vicinity of our neighborhood. We came here for dinner on Cinco de Mayo night and this place was pretty vacant. We walked right in and was seated immediately. Every party is served with a free bucket of peanuts - don't feel bad about littering away your peanut shells onto the ground because it adds onto the decor of their restaurant! The bread appetizer with the cinnamon butter is scrumptious! This place by far serves the best bread & spread. I ordered the 8 oz sirloin for the price of only $12.99! This entree is served with two sides in which I chose steak fries and a house salad. The steak is good (not spectacular) along with the sides. However, the steak wasn't served warm but rather cool. It did taste like it was sitting on the plate for a good minute before it was served. The meat was grilled to my expectation of medium rare; however the quality of the meat is pretty much what you pay for. Service here is prompt. Our waitress was friendly and attentive by coming around to check up on us. We didn't have to wait long for our food which is a big plus. Overall experience here is great - would come back again.

For a chain steak/bbq restaurant, it exceeded my expectations. Always loud, but the service was good. We had the a rack of ribs, a 24 ounce porterhouse, steak fries, salad, and some vegetables. The ribs were very fall of the bone and very tender. The bark was very good. The steak was a lot bette than i thought it would be. The tenderloin side was very tender and the new york side also had a lot of flavor. Cooked medium rare just how we wanted. The sides were okay. Its more of a 3.5 stars, but the service and food were both good, so ill lean towards the 4. Good for a chain restaurant though.

Man cannot live on bread alone....oh yes he can, if its bread like this! Seriously, try it. Its something you gotta try once in your life. Or in my case, once a week. Their freshly baked bread with the cinnamon honey butter spread is amazing. Yup, I literally must've ate 10 rolls. So much for cutting out carbs. Guess I'll be spending some quality time at 24hr fitness soon. Look for my fatass on the treadmill next week. I ordered the 23 ounce T-Bone and holy Texas, it was huge. I opted for the 'smother your steak' with sauteed mushroom, onions and gravy. Now I expected greatness but unfortunately experienced gaudiness, lol. Yes it was enormous and roughly the size of the titanic but it just wasn't that juicy. Sadness. The steak was dry and not very tender at all. diss-a-pointed. I love steak so I was looking forward to a taste of amazing but oh well....at least the bread was good. lol.

Awesome! Great food. Great service. Well priced. Fun atmosphere. Huge portions. We eat here often. Everyone likes it. We never have to wait more than a few minutes. Cactus blossom is huge. Jalapeno peppers are delicious. Why four and not five stars? The server has forgotten about our second side dish twice now. Not a big deal since I would probably not finish it anyway.

Don't order the sirloin steak. I did and it was like a dry piece of rubber. I would have told Darrin, our server, but he never came by the table. We left thirsty and hungry and very very disappointed.

Came here for appetizers and drinks with my best friend . Waitress was great. Wish I could remember her name possibly lea. But anyway have been to Texas road house once, it was the one in natomas and I didn't care for it. So this experience made a difference. Great service! And great appetizers. Also loved the watermelon margarita !

I am insanely picky and I come to this restaurant at least a few times a month. This is by far one of my favorite steakhouses. The service is great and the food is always amazing. I order the smaller sirloin, baked potato and salad. I always have leftovers. The portions are large and the prices are super cheap!!!

Omg I love the food here! Ive had the mushroom chicken sandwich, sweet potato... The rolls with cinnamon butter is absolutely amazing! This place is the closest thing to quality food among restaurant chains that I've been to. You don't get that disgustingly full feeling after eating. It's more of a satisfied full. I can't believe I hadn't tried this place sooner!

Firstly I've been to Texas Roadhouse many times.. Recently it seems that the service at this particular restaurant has gone down hill. Tonight a minute (60 sec) after our salads were brought then our entrees were there.. I made a comment about not having time to enjoy the salad when the guy expediting said he would happily keep our order under the heat lamp.. I asked him for some A1 sauce ( never came back). I asked our waiter for A1, was completely ignored. I had to leave the table to find some. The food is good, however the service really brings my review down.. My advice is go in with low expectations.. Btw at a Sunday dinner time you would think there was a manager keeping tabs.. Not the case..

My boyfriend and I come by here every so often to treat ourselves to a delicious meal and even better drinks. It's our go to place when we're craving some juicy steaks. We always settle with some huge patron margaritas and always add that 2$ patron kicker. Service is always very good and the timing of the meal is always perfect. This place never fails to disappoint.

I'm sitting here in the restaurant. I just puked twice the meal that they gave me. Chicken critters that were rancid. I told the waitress and she took my meal off the bill. Thank you for letting me eat ur rancid chicken, throw up, and then charge me for the other meals. I WILL NEVER COME BACK. Beware they gave me bad chicken. Their food quality is inconsistent. I still have not returned.

I went to Texas Roadhouse for my birthday on the night of August 23rd. I called two hours beforehand to get a number. You can't reserve a table beforehand, but by obtaining a number, you can get "priority". We arrived at 9PM and it was really busy. We had our number ready and we were able to get a table in five minutes. The girl who walked us to the table was very nice and told me to notify the server that it was my birthday. When we were seated, it took a couple minutes for our server to arrive. His name was Bobby, I believe, and he was also very kind. I told him that it was my birthday and he told me not to worry : ). After ordering our Entrees, it didn't take very long to come out, even though it was packed that night. Dinner rolls were delicious... We got our food and it was yum, yum, yum! We mostly had steaks and it was cooked perfectly. The meat was soft to chew and had a great taste to it. Bobby was also attentive in asking if everything was okay. Dinner was going great. At the end of our dinner, Bobby brought out a plate of vanilla ice cream for my birthday : ) All in all, my family and I had a great dinner. I enjoyed everything from the service, to the dinner rolls, to the food...it was great. : )

Worst dining experience ever!! We went out to celebrate my mothers birthday and decided on Texas Roadhouse. Bad choice. Not only would they not seat us cause we were missing one person, when the last member of our party showed up they still didn't seat us! We had made reservations ahead of time and we probably waited a good hour. We finally left once tons of other people were seated. (Mind you the People being seated were walk ins) Never will I go back to Texas Roadhouse. The manager of the restaurant needs to remember they are in business to make money. They stood to make a good amount off of my group not to mention tips. But whatever, lesson learned, my family and I will never go back there, and we will be sure to let everyone we know the shitty service they can expect when visiting Texas Roadhouse in Elk Grove.

Love Love Love the rolls with cinnamon butter! Usually when I have cravings of the rolls, I find myself checked in at Texas Roadhouse! The food is amazing and usually cooked to my standards. I always order the Ribeye Steak and Ribs combo. You can't go wrong with their steak and ribs! The Ribs are fall off the bone finger licking mouth watering yummy kind of ribs! The Steak I order comes loaded with onions and mushrooms. The sweet potato also loaded with marshmallows is delicious! I could keep going on how amazing the food is but it's just making my mouth water thinking about it. I love going to Texas Roadhouse! I however didn't give a full 5 stars because when we got there the hostesses were too busy talking. They did not greet and asked us how many in our party. They finished their conversation first before acknowledging us. They were no Customers waiting at all because we went an hour before closing on a weekday. Other than that, our waitress did an amazing job.

We went here for a dinner after Rehearsal for a wedding. We had a group of about 20, walked in and were seated in about 10 minutes. Service was really good, and friendly. Even accommodating when we wanted to change and order after he had already put it in. All the food came out as desired (steaks), and everybody was given the right food and all came out around the same time! No one had to sit and wait as everyone else ate :)

Terrible experience!!! We went as a group of 12, we attempted to call early for reservations and were put on a list but told we had to all be there before we could check in to be seated. The restaurant was not too busy since we went at 7:15 on a Sunday evening. We went up to check on the status several times and were told they were waiting for a table to clear, then they were cleaning the table and we would be seated shortly, finally the last time we went up they said the people sitting at the table they were going to use for is were taking longer than they expected but it looked like they were finishing up. I'm not sure why we kept getting told different answers. After 45 + minutes of waiting we left. So much for the website saying to call ahead for reservations. They just lost the business of everyone in our group.

Going to Texas Roadhouse with the munchies is a very dangerous thing to do, my friend. Exhibit A: New York Steak Strip, 12 oz., medium rare. Mushrooms and onions? Both. Sides? House salad with thousand island and mashed potatoes. Mashed potatoes with brown gravy or smothered with bacon, sour cream and cheese? Smothered!!! How about an iced cold beer to wash all that down with? Give me a Blue Moon. Wooooo..got the works!! And since it was a Friday night, margaritas and beer were a must. That refreshing first sip of iced cold beer (especially after a long day at work) kept me feeling brand new. And their signature margaritas are no joke! Pretty strong and tasty! My new york steak strip was delish, as usual. His ribeye was even better! Something about that charred taste, grill marks and all got me going crazy for Texas Roadhouse. I never understood the average reviews for this place, I love their steak! I've had all types of steak from old diners to fancy restaurants, even steak straight from Texas and I must say, Texas Roadhouse stands strong in my book. I always ask for an extra cup of au jus so I can dip every tender piece of steak for that extra kick. SOOO bad but SOOOOO good!! **Note: I've had their T-bone and Sirloin Steak but always come back to the NY and Rib Eye, my two faves here. Their "famous" ribs are nothing to write home about (nothing compared to Phil's BBQ in SD!). And I haven't tried their Prime Rib just yet but I hear it's only $13.99 for a 10oz and two sides before 6pm. MUST TRY! Service for me is always great. Sometimes it can take a little long for food to come out but last night, everything came out in a jiffy! It was the first time I ordered so much food for myself AND the first time I didn't have anything left to take home for togo!! Two steaks, 4 sides, 2 drinks for $50 before tip...love it! Date night success!

Good food, but I think my food was overly salty. I guess my high point would be the rolls and cinnamon butter - delicious. The rating is also because we got good service from the staff. Kind of crazy to park when the place is super busy with the dinner crowd, but you can a parking spot if you have to be that close to the front door.

This has to be the worst place in Elk Grove. If you make a reservation, don't plan on getting seated at that time....we had a reservation and still had to wait over 45 minutes and our group put in separate tables. And they're "fantastic" response was "I'm sorry". The food is definitely not worth the wait. Go anywhere but here.

Giving it a 3 star because the food was just OK. I have been to way better Texas roadhouses. The food was really salty an the steak had a lot of fat an my potato wasn't even cooked all the way. Not to mention the waitress was really snappy with me.

Save your money, the food has no real taste. Even the rolls are lacking. But everywhere you look are banners for their bar. On my table alone were three banners for their margaritas. Either be a restaurant with a bar or a bar with bar food.

Wasn't too pleased with this place too much mainly because of our server "tessa". She wasnt friendly at all never smiled once, we never got any refills on our drinks nor did she bother to ask if we needed any and when she left our table it took her forever to return. Now it was 10pm but keep in mind we were not the only ones at the restaurant at this time. The food we ordered was decent nothing great... I asked for well done steak and when I recieved it then inside was red I however didn't send it back because she took too long to return to the table. Called and spoke with manager who was very apologetic and now I'm waiting for something in the mail to get us to come to the restaurant. We shall see how this second visit turns out. The 1 star is only because of their rolls...delish

Came here for dinner last night with my boyfriend around 5PM. I was concerned about the wait time because there weren't any open parking spaces outside but when we got inside we were informed that the wait would only be 10 minutes. We sat down in the waiting area and got up about 1 minute later to be seated! I love how friendly everyone is here. The atmosphere is great and the food is even better! We ordered the cheese fries as an appetizer since I had a free appetizer coupon to redeem (perks of signing up for their emails). I have to admit that the appetizer was too salty for me but it didn't bother me too much since I didn't have to pay for it. I ordered the 6oz. USDA sirloin medium rare smothered with onions/mushrooms and got mashed potatoes and chili as my side dishes. My boyfriend ordered the country fried chicken w/ the same sides as me. Everything was great! Oh yeah, our waitress was awesome too! She was super sweet and fast. We were prepared to spend well over $40 for our dinner but only spend around $25 for our entire meal! We forgot that they have a dine-early special which made both of our entrees $8.99 each. :) Another great thing about Texas Roadhouse! We will definitely be back!

I have been going to this restaurant for years and, although, the food isn't great it was always enjoyable. I walked in on Friday night and there were 3 small children sitting at the bar. Not at a table in the bar, on barstools! I spoke to the manager and he said it was allowed by California law. Just because it is allowed by law does not mean it is right or that the restaurant has to allow it. The conversations at the bar are usually not appropriate for young ears. If parents are too stupid to keep their children out of bars, the restaurant should stop them. I will not go back!

There is nothing special about this place. Customer service was only okay. I first walked in here like "What the hell is all this on the floor? They need to tidy up the place..." But don't worry, it was just part of their restaurant's theme. *phew* I ordered the 8oz sirloin steak. There is also a 6oz which is considered kids size, and an 11oz. The 8oz was enough for me and I'm not a little bird eater. I had steak fries on the side and corn. The plate did not look appealing at all. Everything tasted so mediocre. They weren't bursting with flavors, and I was actually a little bit upset with their so-called steak fries. There were plenty of them, but it wasn't seasoned like how other steak fries I have tasted are like. This was just plain fries sprinkled with a bunch of salt...ugh. Nothing special about their drinks either. Overall, a little too pricey for the quality of the food & service.

My family stopped by for a late night dinner the other day. Even thought they close at 10 but they still take us in at 9:30. The steak were amazing. Maybe we were just very hungry? Anna, our server was very nice and sweet. I love how they give free peanuts and bread. Their breads are just unbeatable! Definitely be back.

First off, the service was definitely great. Everyone was really friendly and great waitresses/hostesses etc. Our waitress always seemed to show up right when we needed her. The food: The bread: It was pretty good. The butter was nice and fluffy. Although my fingers were completely greasy after just picking the bread up for 5 seconds. But still delicious. Potato skins: pretty good but I believe it was supposed to have sour cream on it? I can't remember at the moment, but if it did it was definitely missing, but still good regardless. Jalapeno Poppers (Called something else on the menu): Pretty good as well, nicely fried. Melty cheese. Buffalo Strips: Half of the strips weren't covered in sauce really, and the other half were extremely covered. The one with sauce was way too salty. The ones lacking sauce were definitely a lot better. Fried Pickles: Some were nicely fried while some were a bit soggy. The nicely fried ones were definitely good. ***Their blossom sauce dip is awesome. Rib Eye: It was on the salty side (And I love salty so usually I don't complain, but it was a bit too salty). But overall it was a good steak. I did ask for medium and it was more on the medium well side, so I was a bit sad but it was still good. The side of steak fries were delicious!!! Extra crispy. Great crunch. The mashed potatoes were just normal mashed potatoes. Nothing too special. Prime Rib: I think I liked the prime rib a bit more than the rib eye [although it's usually the other way around]. I think it's because the prime rib was cooked medium. So it was a lot less...dry I guess? But the prime rib was really good. Overall a decent place nearby to grab some steak with the family.

Great place for a date night. Went here with my husband after going water rafting and it was the perfect wrap up to a wonderful day. The food was excellent and our waitress Shannel was the best waitress I've ever had. Very happy with the food and the wonderful service.

Ahhh Texas Roadhouse, you never let me down. This is my favorite chain restaurant for cheap(ish) steaks & prime rib (~$20) Although I do not live anywhere near Sacramento/Elk Grove, this is a great location to stop for dinner on the way back to the bay area from Reno/Lake tahoe area. I'm always starving for meat and potatoes after a long day of snowboarding and Texas Roadhouse ALWAYS hits the spot. Their dinners include 2 sides (I usually get the Ceasar salad and the "loaded" baked potato - butter, sour cream, cheese & bacon) and endless bread. OOhhhh, their bread is SOOOOO good. It's made from scratch everyday and their compound butter is so delicious (butter and cinnamon). If you love the bread and want to take a lot home, you can get a dozen for $3.95. I know this because my friend bought some. Maybe if you're lucky (or an expert at flirting w/ the server), you can get a box to take home for free! I always get the PRIME RIB or the RIBEYE STEAK. Texas road house steak sauce pairs perfectly w/ the ribeye. For people that live closer to the bay area, there's also 2 locations in Fairfield and Union City. Oh, every table also gets a free bucket of peanuts to munch on. Score!

It was a good thing the food was worth it. Hostess' couldn't keep track and passed over us as well as others multiple times. My step-father asked them and they said they called for us at the bar, but not the waiting area and they would add us to the top of the list. We waited another 10 minutes being passed over when I finally went back up to find out what was going on. One girl tried to help but the other insisted that she already called us and it was my parties fault we did not hear. When we went up to wait for our table to be ready two of the girls then continued to stare me down for causing an inconvenience due to their lack of competence, roll their eyes, and laugh. We debated on leaving because of the way we were mistreated after we waited 50 minutes but decided to stay and give our server a chance to change the childish behavior we had been receiving. We loved our waitress and enjoyed our food but I will not be going back any time in the near future.

Food was good. Nothing mind blowing. Service was really bad. I've been here several times with family and we've always had a good time but my last visit was so bad I'm going to avoid this place. Came on 4th of July in the afternoon. The girl who walked us to our table walked by 3 fully setup and cleaned tables to seat us at a dirty table that had no peanuts. We had to ask our server to clean the table and after waiting for peanuts we ended up stealing them off the table next to us.

    (2)
  • Arvin C.

It's always pack here! Expect a ~10-15 minute wait unless you call before you come. For the amount of food you get and for the price you pay it's very well worth it! The steaks are a must get here. Get the NY strip or sirloin steak with bbq chicken. It will fill you up! Unlimited bread and peanuts! You can even ask for a side of bread to-go for free! (Make sure to tip good) If you're feeling poor, you can just order a beer and eat all the peanuts and bread you want! **Note: Don't wear flip flops or sandals here... Peanuts are everywhere!!!!!

Their parking lot is always jammed packed so naturally that means this place is popular. I tried them out and I'm glad I did! It's a cozy western texas kinda feel where you get your steak cravings FULLfilled! They got these basket of sweet soft bread buns placed on your table once you sit down. It comes with a whipped buttery cinnamon concoction that is very addictive. If you eat it all, they simply refill it. Newbies, do not continually to devour the bread, it will get you full and you cannot enjoy the rest of your meal so you would have to take it home in a large doggy bag. I ordered their steak combo with shrimp. The steak tastes delish! And it tasted like it was grass fed. Not sure if they use grass fed beef, but hey it keeps me coming back. Take your time and enjoy the food and atmosphere. They have a bar with televisions showing the sports stuff. Every now and then this weird but energetic western cowboy dance music comes on the speaker and all the waiters start to come together in the center of room and do a funky line dance. Entertaining to watch, especially if youre loaded with their sweet bread. Try it once and you'll be back!

I have only been here twice and both times were amazing. For the appetizers I recommend the onion flower, fried pickes, and most definitely ask for more rolls with the cinnamon flavored butter. The drinks are huge and definitely taste great. The sides are so-so; I always get the corn and the potato. The steaks, ribs, BBQ chicken are to die for. The rib-eye steak is the best and the ribs are great even if you eat them the next day. Be careful of how much you order because the portions here are really big. The service is great, the waiters and waitress are always checking on you to see if everything is okay. Its on the pricey but if you with a friend or something; ordering one platter and splitting it will be more than enough food.

Not too crowded for a sat night in Elk Grove, the country top 40 is effing killing me though!! The Prime rib was exactly done as I asked (which seems to be an issue at most places). The Steak sauce was so good, we ordered a bottle. Needless to say the rolls with the apple butter are divine and the family could have had a basket each, did not like the house margarita, waaaaaayyyyy too sweet, could not even finish it.

Went here with my sis for a late lunch and a cocktail! TR hasn't disappointment me as of yet. I had the catfish with fries. My food was so delicious and the fish was seasoned and fried to perfection. The only thing I didn't like is that TR doesn't serve coleslaw?! maybe it's a southern thing LOL!! I would go back regardless. Great food and drinks!! P.S. the restaurant was pretty loud.

We come here about once a month. The food is good and the rolls are to die for! I always get the barbq chicken. I like that it is boneless. Their mashed potatoes are good too. Last time we dined at the restaurant , our server Marisol was great. She was one of the best servers we have had there.Tip: take advantage of their Call Ahead Seating:)

    (4)
  • Jennifer N.

Tip: You can't be seated unless your whole party is there. Food: - Complimentary bread and butter: TR has the best bread and butter! The bread is soft and sweet. The butter is to DIE for! It is soooooo good! Fluffy, cinnamon-y, and sweet. I can eat it for days! 5/5 - Country Fried Chicken: Chicken is deep fried to a nice crunchiness. It is covered with gravy. Comes with 2 sides. I got mashed potatoes and seasoned rice. This plate is very filling, I never finish it. 5/5 - Sirloin Steak and Ribs Combo: The sweet BBQ glazed meat fell off the bones of the ribs. The meat was nice and tender. My fiance ordered his steak medium rare, it was more rare. He wasn't very happy about that. His sides were steak fries and house salad. 4/5 Service: Usually there's a pretty long wait. Today, we came at 6pm and we were seated right away. Our waitress was very nice. She made helpful suggestions and stopped by 3x during our stay to make sure we were okay or if we needed anything. 4/5 Final Thoughts: I'm always satisfied with Texas Roadhouse. Good food and good service.

THE BREAD NEVER LIES! Best hot and soft BUNS with sweet warm BUTTER! # of times here/another branch: 6 Setting: a pool of peanuts! Most of the seatings are bench seats which I prefer. Dim lights, lots of sport teams along the walls. near the bar there is always a game going on usually football or baseball. Service: Great service. towards the end it was a little hard to get a hold of our waiter, but she made sure our glasses were filled and that we got a bread and everything we wanted! Dish: Half ribs with salad and rice :) The ribs melt of the bone as if they were never once attached so you don't have to work hard to get every part of meat off the bone. Just enough BBQ sauce and nice and HOT when they first come out and service to you.

So my family asked me where and what I wanted to eat for my birthday. Anybody that knows me knows I'm not going to pass up on something I want to eat. So obviously I decided that I want to eat at Texas Roadhouse. It's not too far from home, as I'm from Stockton. My brother calls when they open on Saturday to try and reserve seats for a party of 14. Yes, we have a big family with plenty of brats. The call is actually automated messages. He tells me that there's no reservations, just show up early, and make sure your whole party is present, no waiting for members of your party. I didn't mind their policy. So we wanted to be there by 7 pm. We actually get there by 6:30, give or take a few minutes. The parking lot is FULL!!!! I mean, jam packed!!!!! As anyone would say, if the parking lot is full, the place HAS to be great..... The parking lot was so packed we had to follow customers that were leaving to actually get their parking spot. Once we enter, mind you, this was my first time here, the place was packed, and LOUD. They had this little waiting area that you can get peanuts to hold you over until there are seats. My brother goes to the call in seating to ask about our party. The "party mananger" (Phillip) tells him that they will get enough seats for us, but it'll be a wait because we had a big party. I told my brother it was fine, it's only 6:40 or so. We wait, and my kids and my sister's kids start grabbing and eating peanuts. That was great that the kids can be kept busy eating peanuts instead of being A holes (anyone that goes out with 6 kids knows what I'm talking about). I greatly appreciated that Phillip came and updated us with what was going on with our tables and wait time (great job). So, after a 30 minute wait they have enough seating for our party. We sit and, Meadow (I don't know if I spelled her name right) introduces herself as our waitress. She was super sweet and patient with us, with an awesome Oakland A's hat. She brings us our rolls with an awesome buttery dipping sauce, mmmmmmm.....these rolls are sweet, freshly baked, and so good that my nephew eats 5 and a half of them. She then asks if we are ready to order, and obviously we're not because my brother left to use the restroom. So, I tell her to take the other table, still our party's, orders first. She agreed with a smile. She takes their order, and I feel sorry because she had to take the order from my niece, but she finishes. By this time my brother gets back and we're ready to order our food. We order the blossom as an appetizer. The appetizer was great with the dipping sauce it came with. I asked if the 16 oz ribeye was the biggest cut I could get. She tells me that there is a 23 oz ribeye bone in if i wanted that. Or she could have a bigger cut if i wanted. Wow, a bigger cut??? Something that wasnt on the menu? But, I just ordered the 16 oz. She asks if i was sure, and I definitely was. It was a 16 oz ribeye, smothered with sautéed mushrooms, onions and covered with brown gravy. We all are done with our orders and she is off to the kitchen. She comes back in 5 minutes and introduces Chris. She told us she was about to go to break, and that Chris would pick up where she left off. That was fine, great, GREAT communication on their part. So Chris grabs me another Sprite, as I'm not a alcoholic beverage drinker. He also asks if we wanted more bread. Great attention to our needs, and what we had and didn't have. Appetizer was good with the dip. So our food finally comes out, only about 15-20 minutes after we ordered. Wow, that was fast. Omg, my steak looked awesome. It looked so delicious with the mushrooms, my wife starts picking off my plate. She starts picking on my mushrooms, and I LOVE mushrooms cooked like this. The steak was cooked to my medium liking. It was tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. One thing I wasn't expecting was the excessive amount of onions. That was a little too much onions, even though it was still flavorful. My sides were, mashed potatoes with gravy, and green beans. The mashed potatoes were good, but the green beans had this burnt taste. I don't know what they cooked the green beans with, but it looked burnt, and the green beans were a little salty. I didn't finish the green beans, but I did finish the mashed potatoes. I ate 2/3 of my steak before giving up. Now I understand why our first waitress asked if I was sure I wanted the 16 oz. I had one bite of my brother's prime rib. This one bite made me realize why prime anything costs what they cost. The bite was super flavorful, savory, and tender. At the end of the night, everyone was full, and we took home 5 boxes because most of us couldn't finish our plates. GREAT first impression. Could've been 5 stars, but that burnt taste of the green beans just left a bad taste in my mouth, sorry. Entrees were awesome, sides were ok, except the green beans. Appetizers were good. Services. ..GREAT!!! Personal thanks to Phillip, Meadow, and Chris.

One of the top steakhouses on my list, the food is always very good. Service can be hit and miss, and the place is usually crowded and noisy. Sometimes the servers drop what they are doing and dance, which is entertaining, unless they were in the middle of waiting on you :) But back to the food, the food is top notch, great steak, great sides, tasty rolls. Ill keep coming back for just that. Wish i could figure out their steak seasoning, they sell it online, but its not the same.

The ribeye there is sooooo small and flavorless. I don't know what all the hype is about.

I just remember the steaks being better in the past, else my palette has gotten jaded by other high end steak houses. Still, I tasted better Ribeye I cooked myself from Safeway, spent $10, than spending $20 here. I remembered having great flavor from the charing, salt and pepper. Instead it just tasted under cooked and just thrown on the grilled ,blah. First time I had to use steak sauce, heck I would have used ketchup. Some newbie must have been on the night shift that night. This place is still popular choice among my friends, but I decided its not worth the $20 for their steaks. I Will just order a hamburger or appetizer next time a friend insist on dining here.

The ambiance reminds me outback, chili's, etc. And the workers were all friendly, good customer service. Now for the food, for starters the bread they give you w/ the butter cinnamon spread is GOOOD! we also had the onion blossom, first time I've been disappointed with with one. Doesn't compare to Outback or the old Chili's one. We also ordered a couple of blue moons off tap in a chilled mug........wow, that's all i have to say. For entrees, we both ordered 12oz rib eye's w/ steak fries and a loaded baked potato. Steaks were really tender, but we had to return one due to the fact we asked for med well and got well done. I had a med and got a med w/ med rare parts also but just ate it. But the server and manager were really helpful in getting the situation corrected. A plus is the manager came out and talked to us personally. As for the sides the steak fries were good and the baked potato was just ehh. conclusion: nice place, friendly service, good bread, beer, and steaks if cooked right.

Oh Yeah! Lead me to my table with those hot dinner rolls with the cinnamon cream butter. I've always gone on the weekends and this place stays CRACKIN. I had the fall off the bone ribs and they were OK. Ribs aren't suppose to fall off the bone, that's backyard cooking. Ribs are suppose to stay on the bone and be nibbled off. Ask any professional BBQ'r which I am not and they will tell you that too. Anyways I have to give five stars for atmosphere and energy. I thought the child meal for 12 year olds was weak. My 12 year old had the sirloin nibblers and it look small to me. She said she enjoyed it and likes to order her meat medium. I also had the Roadhouse Roadie Margarita and it taste pretty good. Nice size margarita just wish it was stronger.

Good food, great variety, pleasant staff with pretty good service. Doesn't take reservations, but used call ahead seating for the first time yesterday (Valentines Day) and got in within 10 minutes. They do some line dancing on the hour which is cute, but the music does get a bit loud. Probably our favorite place

Lot of sentimentality in this restaurant.(Went here for our wedding rehearsal dinner) In a more recent visit Ordered a delicious New York Strip steak long with a loaded baked potato. My wife ordered a dish of salmon with rice. While we waited for our meals we were given dinner rolls with apple/cinnamon butter, not too certain which. But still just a great way to prepare for a meal. The service was a bit busy that night and caused for a little service than usual but overall experience was very good. Always love coming here for a special night out with family and friends.

There is only one word for our experience tonight at theTexas Roadhouse restaurant with the hubby and that it was AWESOME! Tonight, the hubby and I decided to go out for dinner after being cooped up at home and also hubby had the major craving for prime rib. We decided to drive to Sacramento. Unfortunately we were let down by Iron Steak (TOO pricey) and Joe's Crab Shack we would had to wait for an hour and a half just for the two of us so we decided to give Texas Roadhouse a try and it was one of our best choice. Though it was a peak time for dinner, we were seated the moment we entered. Our server "Russ" came to our table and took our drink orders while we decided on our dinner. They provided homemade dinner rolls and sweet cinnamon butter. OMG, the rolls were the best rolls I have had in a long time. it was obvious the rolls and butter were made from scratch. The hubby had his prime rib and I decided to go for the sirloin steak and bbq chicken. OMG, dinner was the best we have had in years. I asked my steak to be medium rare and hubby's prime rib rare and we definitely got what we asked for. Texas Roadhouse was better than Black Angus (when they were still around), Outback Steak House and anyother steak houses combined. We had the buffalo wings (hubby wanted) and normally I detest buffalo wings but I thought I would give it a try and it didn't have the typical "Tabasco" flavour of buffalo wings and it was DELISH. My steak was cooked to perfection. Normally I would add steak sauce on my steak to give it flavour but it was to tasty as is,it needed NOTHING (drooling just thinking about it. And hubby's prime rib (I had to taste) was "melt in your mouth" tender and the Au Jus was mouth watering. For the price we paid, this was money well spent. We normally don't splurge too often but after tonight, I told hubby I want to come back. DEFINITE must if you want to have quality dinner. Addt'l note: while hubby went for a "break" after dinner, I watched the cook across the check in podium at the kitchen, by the front door and it is very entertaining. You can watch them bake the bread and cook the steaks, burgers and other meats on the grill. Highly recommended to see their talent on how the food is cooked to perfection. Impressive.

Great steaks. I like how they give you sides and complimentary bread that tastes super good. I've been here many times and it tastes so good. I can eat at this place like 3 times a week if I had the money lol. The service is also great and the consistency is pretty good. Definitely worth a try if you have never been here. If you have been here than you should definitely come back

A little expensive and the service was lacking. HOWEVER the food is excellent and my boyfriend is convinced he has never had a better steak in his life. I also enjoyed the sweet tea (almost as good as the home made) and the rolls are also pretty addicting. I would definitely go back

Great food, good service. Did I mention great food. Show up for early dine to save some $. Make sure to ask for Darren. I eat here 2 times/month and he is by far the best server there!

I have been going to this place for a few years and I keep on going back for a few different reasons. Every time that I think about coming here my mouth starts watering for their bread rolls with cinnamon butter...my mouth is watering just thinking about it. Be warned that the breads are so good that you might fill up on them before your food even arrives.... This place is good for families and large groups but just keep in mind that is a pretty loud place. This is a plus if you have little ones as no one will know if your little one is having a hard time. They also offer free peanuts are welcome to discard the shells on the ground . Again, good if your little ones are making messes. The service, in my experience, has been consistently good. If you get a chance, make sure you check out their line dancing as it is always nice to see the crew having a good time. As for the food, they have a wide variety of food to suit (almost) every palate. If you come here make sure you check out their steaks or ribs as it is their specialty. I've stuck with the steaks as they are my favorite and always good. I definitely recommend you to try this place out if you get the chance.

We went here last night and the place was crowded as usual on a Sunday evening, but we got seated right away! Surprise! The orders went smoothly and the 4 of us had our food in less than 20 minutes. The bread here is always good together with their honey butter. I only mentioned it was our friend's birthday and we got a bonus of a beautiful Happy Birthday ice cream with a cherry on top for the 4 of us to share. We could not finish it. It was a nice evening of good food, ambiance, and the noise around us felt everyone was happy and contented :-) I highly recommend this place.

I always enjoy going to this restaurant. I'm not much of a meat eater, but love to order the 4 course dinner of various veggie side dishes. They are always as good as the last time! Especially their yams smothered in marshmellows! My boyfriend loves the food too since he is a meat eater. The portions are generous. The staff are always friendly. The only drawback is that it gets crowded early on almost a daily basis for dinner. But they do have a reservation number you can call an hour or so ahead to get seating without waiting as long. The cocktails are worth going for too. youtube.com/watch?v=qCgQ…

Best steak ever!! It's one of the most tender steaks I've ever had. I always order my steaks medium rare, and it always comes out the way I want it. They're very consistent. You should try "smothering" your steak with mushrooms and onions! It makes the steak taste even better! Each plate if served with your choice of two sides. I always order caesar salad and fries. They give you a big portion of fries. Their baked potatoes and mashed potatoes are really good as well, especially when you get them fully loaded. The bread there is awesome. Almost just as good as Red Lobster bread! They also leave a pail of peanuts on the table. You just throw the shells on the floor when you're done, which is pretty cool. There's peanut shells everywhere on the restaurant floor. Lines usually get pretty long, especially around dinner time! I suggest calling ahead so you don't have to wait as long with the big crowd people there.

Been here twice and both times there have been screw ups with our orders. Ordered a whisky sour, which came tasting like they dumped sweetener in it. Sent it back. Steak came out raw in the center, not medium rare. Ate the sides, green beans and corn, which tasted like they came out of a can. The side salad was excellent. When the steak came back (everyone else was done with their meal by then) it was excellent as well. Overall Texas Roadhouse is a mixed bag. The steaks are really very good, but quality control is severely lacking. Normally I'd say it was a fluke and try again, but both the bar and the kitchen had problems on more than one occasion. Coincidence? I think not...

I forgot how damn good this place is. Hands down, the ultimate steakhouse to go as a family. The wait is never too bad, free peanuts all over the place, very quick and friendly service every time I've been. Order up the Baby Blossom, and it's not that baby. We couldn't even finish it after our family of 4 devoured it. My family is a big fan of their bone-in rib eye... holy crap its a carnivore's dream come true. With mashed potatoes and a house salad. Even their italian dressing is good. Oh yeah, can't forget the dinner rolls with the cinnamon butter. Get some to-go while you're at it.

3 stars for the food and an extra star for the service on Mothers Day. Considering the day, we received great service. Everything was fast. Food was a mixed bag. We ordered a couple appetizers. The jalepeno and cheese balls were very tasty, but very very greasy. The cactus blossom (deep fried onion) was well undercooked. 2 of the 3 steaks were cooked as ordered, but most of mine was very rare instead of medium. It worked out OK as I saved the rare part to take home and cook with eggs for dinner. So by the time it was ready as leftovers, it was a perfect medium. And I really don't have that big a problem with it or I'd have sent it back. So overall, food was mostly good, with a few things that were not so good. But the service was very very good. I'd rate this restaurant visit a start below my experience at the Fairfield location - but again, it was Mothers Day. So......

Amazing service! My fiancé and I love the food and have had pretty good service, when dinning here before. But this experience was a little different, in a good way! We sat at the bar top and not only did we happen to sit by a great group of people but we were able to experience being served by one the bartenders, Darren. I have worked in the bar industry before and have never seen a bartender shake hands with all of his patrons when introducing himself! It is such a personal and genuine touch! Major step up in my book! I could not get past how well he took care of a crowded bar top and did it with such an amazing attitude and grace. You could see him joking with other staff and truly enjoying what he was doing! Not to mention he made a mean drink!

Wasn't great, wasn't bad. It was what it was. Its very large inside and they give you a dissertation on their bread, margaritas and something else that I cant remember all before you sit down. The bread was good. The Cinnamon Butter wasn't. To breakfast like. They need to switch it up from the Cinnamon Butter to Honey Butter. They also give you a bag of peanuts and a bucket to enjoy while waiting. I only had water my mom and sister had Raspberry Iced Tea. I was driving and wasn't in the drinking type mood. We ordered the Rattlesnake Bites as an appetizer. Yummy hush puppy like jalapeno poppers that were cheesy and a little spicy. It came with a savory dipping sauce. Really good and not what I expected. These were the best things that we ordered actually. I got the Road Kill. Gross sounding I know. Trying to cut the carbs a little in my life I ordered this. Its a large hamburger patty with caramelized onions, mushrooms and cheese on top. You get two sides of your choice. I went with green beans and a sweet potato with marshmallows and carmel sauce. Yeah, really cutting out the carbs.

Went here on a day I was really craving steak and I did not get to satisfy that craving. Came here on a Saturday afternoon and there was no wait. The hostess greeted us promptly right when we walk through the door. There is a display of raw steaks that you can choose from (which I did not find out until after we left). Our server was quick to serve us and bring out our orders. My boyfriend ordered the cactus blossom which he was unhappy with because it was so oily that he had to insert napkins to absorb all the oil. He wasn't too happy with the batter they used also. For my entree, I ordered the 12oz rib eye with sauteed onions and mushrooms, a loaded baked potato and steak fries. The ordered the steak medium well and it came out well done. my boyfriend ordered his medium and it came out medium rare. Whoever was cooking was just off that day. I really didn't want to but i had to asked to have my steak returned because i could not finish it nor did i believe that if i brought it home i would be able to. i just thought it would be just a waste of money. i was planning on giving this place no stars (but yelp wont allow that) but because of the customer service, ill give this place three. the server was nice and patient with my issue. +1 Another +1 is because the manager who i dealt with, took the time to come out to talk to us to resolve the issue. For that, I might just come back just because the customer service that i experienced was great. Hopefully, the cook will be able to cook the steaks correctly next time.

This place is definitely the SHIT!!! The service and the food was definitely worth mentioning and if it stays like this.... we will be loyal customers!!! And by the wait and the crowd, you know it is worth coming to!!!. We came her two weekends in a row because we were in disbelief that it could be as good as the first time, but it was!!! The price was very affordable, so take your family out and enjoy the ambiance. Elk Grove does not have alot of restaurants, so this was a great surprise!! Job Well Done!!!

First off, this is a joint to have fun. If you are looking for your Donovan's style experience don't bother comparing. When you come here you get peanut shells on the ground, a periodic rodeo dance here and there, along with a sport's bar ambiance in the center. The bread is bomb with the cinnamon sugar butter they provide you with, especially their Texas Roadhouse steak sauce (which I like better than A1...*GASP* don't kill me because I said that). Their sides are pretty basic but you get exactly what you were looking for when coming to a Texas influenced joint, big bold flavors. The steak is actually cooked pretty well (or at least all the times I come here) and I would say is worth the price. Waaaaaaaaay better than Outback, Black Angus, and the like *cough cough*. P.S. Bring extra bread home for extra enjoyment.

I prefer to go to local owned restaurants, but I was pleasantly surprised by this place. The rolls were delicious, unlimited, and free! We ordered fried pickles and they were pretty good, just a little mushy. My steak and sweet potato were cooked to perfection. To top it all off, our service was great! I will definitely be back if I'm in the Elk Grove area again.

The free dinner rolls are so good! They are buttery with a touch of cinnamon. It's delicious!! I got the pulled pork dinner, which I thought was mediocre, but the portions are big! My boyfriend got the steak and shrimp - he loved it but I thought it was a bit salty. This place doesn't take reservations but you can call ahead of time to see if there's a wait. It's usually loud, crowded, and service can be a bit slow. I would come back here but it wouldn't be my first choice.

Meh, their New York Steak is okay, not what I expected from them. My dad ordered his steak Medium well and it came out bloody uncooked red so he sent it back and took forever to come back out. Although, my Medium rare was just right. My side dish of veggies looked like they came straight from a can and the side of mashed potatoes were very basic. I don't know, I guess Texas Roadhouse could do a lot better, after all people usually make a big deal about it. On the bright side....free peanuts.

This place is off the hook! Sometimes BBQ food makes me wanna up chuck ....so I played it safe and ordered the chicken fritters with steak fries...and an icy cold blue moon on the side. Perfect meal...looking forward to going back again! Total chill atmosphere...I'm gunna put on my cowgirl boots and yeehaw for my next visit to this place. Oh...and the bread with the sweet butter spread...oooooh emmmmm geeeee....I would have been perfectly content with just that! It's offf the hoooook. Just go already. What are you waiting for?! GOOOOOO.

Came here for the hubby's bday and it was ok. His t-bone steak was nicely cook, med well. I got a piece of sirloin medium as well but I have to say mine was a little over cooked. My piece of steak was too salty. Everything we had was too salty for me. Even the chili was too salty. The complimentary dinner rolls were ok. I have had better steak, probably won't be returning. The plus is the waitress, she was nice and generous (regardless of doing her job or not).

YUMMO! I have to say this was a better experience than before. I refused to go again, because the last time I went, it sucked! This time, the food was awesome and the service was great! We devoured the bread. OMG! The best thing ever. This is the first time going to the Elk Grove restaurant and I'm pleased. TIP: Call ahead seating!!

They don't do the peanut shells on the ground here so it's not as fun, but it's really good and is now my fave steak house. I can't eat at outback anymore b/c it's gross.

Came here for lunch today with my family because we had a $25 gift card. Their bread is always delicious! I ordered the "All American Cheeseburger". Comes with fries and a pickle slice. The burger tasted really good. It wasn't dry. I thought the fries were a bit salty. Customer service was good. Our waiter was super cute! Haha. Very nice. But we waited a bit too long for our check and boxes. It's okay though. UPDATE I came here for a birthday dinner. It was around 4-5pm, so it was "happy hour". Lol I don't know what to call it. Some entrees were $7.99, $12.99 or $14.99. I ordered the Chicken Critters for $7.99 and it came with two sides. This is the best deal ever because usually Chicken Critters alone is $10. My boyfriend order the prime rib steak. They overcooked it, so they gave him a new steak. They waitress was being a little rude talking about how we sent it because it was over cooked.

I like to cook my own steak. I am a self proclaimed grill master, and kind of a steak snob. I have had only one memorable restaurant bought steak in my time. Last night, I decided to go all in at the Texas Roadhouse, and ordered up the 24 ounce Ribeye, medium rare. Lets talk about this steak. I think it was pretty damned good. I ate the whole thing, and my big dog is enjoying the bone as I type. I don't think that I could match the quality of a steak that size with my own special recipe. Still, I was happy with it, and it was cooked to perfection. For sides, I had the house salad with bleu cheese, which was fresh and good. I also had the fries, which were way too salty, and nothing special. Lots of people rave about the bread. It is soft and served with a sweet, cinnamon (I think) butter. That is their thing, not mine. The rest of the experience, was loud and long. The place was SRO, and we waited about 45 minutes for our table, a bit longer than I normally would wait. Our waitress was friendly and skilled, about what I would expect from a place like this. We were in the restaurant start to finish for about 2 hours, and left full. To summarize, this is one of those loud places that I normally would avoid. However, the honest steak would bring me back maybe once a year when I felt the need for big beef.

Ugh...I reluctantly agreed to have lunch here with my boyfriend because he had a gift card. Because there are so many family owned and operated restaurants out there, I do my best to avoid chains whenever possible. I expected an experience similar to my visit to Logan's Roadhouse: peanut shells on the floor (which I find appalling), mediocre service, and forgettable food. Boy, was I surprised (and, therefore, relieved)! As soon as we walked in, the hostess grabbed a basket of hot rolls and escorted us to our table. We were promptly greeted by our server, who not only took our drink orders, but returned with them quickly. With a few scribbles of her pen, our food order was taken and we were left to pounce on the hot rolls with the BEST cinnamon butter ever! I was impressed, and looked forward to my Pulled Pork and Ribs. For less than $15, I was given a LOT of food. The large, juicy mound of pork was tangy and sweet, and served with a toasted roll if you preferred to assemble a sandwich. I couldn't remember the last time I had such tender, fall-off-the-bone ribs...quite outstanding. A side of applesauce and a sweet potato rounded out the meal, which was completely satisfying. I had enough leftover to provide two more meals. Overall, a great experience. I'd come back here again without a gift card! Nice job, Texas Roadhouse.

If you want the best steak, ribs, salad, or bread in town, this is the place to go. You get what you pay for here, and then some! But the most impressive thing is the service. You can't put a price tag on unbeatable service. The bartenders and managers are always friendly and ready to help, and always make for a great experience. Oh, and the new TVs make the Sharks games all the more better ;)

We got seated right away, but had to wait a while for the waitress to take our order, we ate two baskets of bread... Even though the bread is hot and fresh from the oven. This roadhouse is very crowded and loud. Good thing it was just my bf and I or else we would had to wait a while for a table. The waiting area was super crowded, no where to sit. There is people standing around outside. When our waitress finally took our order, we had to wait a while for our food to come. The food isn't all that great either. I expect the meat to be more tender and taste better, but everything was too salty. I had to use ketchup to help with the taste. I would not come back to this restaurant

The filet was cooked to my satisxfaction. It was moist, tender and well seasoned. I still wish they had a different selection of sides. The wait staff was quick and responsive. The noise level is pretty high but it is expected in this relaxed atmosphere.

Mmm mmm rolls!...and of course the cinnamon butter spread! Things I like here: Baby blossom Sirloin steak Salmon T-bone Ribs Sides: cajun rice, mixed veggies, corn, mashed potatoes. It's always packed here during dinner and ESPECIALLY on the weekends, but I love how they have call ahead seating because it beats having to wait inside the restaurant. So if you have a large party and you can't wait anywhere from 30 mins to an hour then call ahead! The service is always friendly here and they sometimes dance a little cowboy song or two. The decor is very hunting lodge like and the floor is full of peanut shells, so feel free to crack open a nut and throw it around! Oh and did I mention that you can choose your own steak strip before being seated? Neat-o! :)

Really good well done steak! Seasoned, not dry, sautéed your way with mushrooms, onions and\or cheese. Tasty mash potatoes loaded. Their signature non alcoholic drink made with cranberry, lemonade, and strawberry purée....Uber tasty!!!

Texas Roadhouse, home of the tastiest yet fattening rolls! I like Texas Roadhouse because of their dinner rolls that they give for free. I think their food is alright. Sometimes the steaks are too salty. This place isnt my first choice to come, but i dont mind coming here. What is interesting about this place is that you get to eat free peanuts and throw the shell on the ground. Sometimes the servers dance around the bar. The service is friendly and nothing more. Stars: 3

Went out to dinner with my cousin, I'd seen this place a few times and suggested we try it. I had the Pulled Pork Platter, the pork was very good the, the toasted roll that was served with it while good was considerably smaller than the ones served at the table upon arrival. The side of green beans we both ordered were alright, I would have preferred them a bit crunchier. My cousin, had the Catfish Plate, I tasted a piece of it, I can only assume that it was farm raised. I didn't have the usual muddy taste that I get from most cat fish. Overall I would visit again.

This review is based solely on the takeout service. I have heard about this place many times before from family and friends and never had the chance to try it. My family and i were in the area and decided to order some dinner to go. I checked on yelp and saw they closed around 10pm and it was already 9:30pm!! So i called them up hoping that they will still take my to go order. A reason why i took away one star was because i had to literally wait on the phone for 5 minutes for someone to answer to take my order. I believe the person who answered the phone was the bartender for the night. MY ORDER: Full rack of ribs with veggies and seasoned fries BBQ chicken sweet potatoes and house salad. I didn't know that sides were included in the order so i had the person taking my order repeat the sides at least 3 times! ahahaha . But fortunately he was so nice to do so.. When we arrived at the restaurant to pick our food up , i was greeted with warm smiles and hellos! The bartender who gave me my food was very friendly and actually gave us extra dinner rolls too!! food was delicious , but the BBQ was so small for 9.99 ;(

Hands down! Best steak/roadhouse in the elk grove area. This place can get really crowded! They don't take reservation and the wait line can get really long. I went here for a group of about 8 and we waited almost an hour. I can only assume if you had a bigger party they would split you because most to all of their seating are booth and glued to the ground. It a big restaurant with plenty of seating; it's just get really crowded. They have a huge waiting area too! Which is nice because in that area, they have a huge bucket of peanuts. So grab a bag and start eating away while you wait. Once you are seated, they give you the complementary bread rolls. It is the best thing ever. Every time I think of Texas rh, the first thing that comes to my mind are these rolls. It's regular sized baked with a little butter glazed over it. It is warm and fluffy and never dry. It's perfectly made. I think everyone can agree with me, that the butter dip that is served with it is what we come back for! I think its butter, honey and cinnamon all mix together to serve with the rolls. Honestly, the best food item here are these rolls and it's free! And they're not shady about it either. They would even ask you if you want some of it togo. They box it up for you fresh from the warmer oven. Once I get my order in can feel myself getting full. None the less when the food comes out I am still eating. Any entree I get here seem to be huge. I usually get the steak here and I am never disappointed. It usually cook the way I like it. It super soft and never chewy. All the sides are always good. I usually get the mash potatoes. But they have a lot of side to choose from. I like having options, so I like changing it up every time I got there. I would stay away from the blossom onion here. Its not that great because of the sauce. (Better at outback!) Besides that, everything is about average, nothing that amazing but nothing is horrible! Even though there not much that is good here, I would rather go here then any other steak/roadhouse just because of there bread rolls. So it doesn't get better than Texas Roudhouse!

We went to the Texas Roadhouse in Elk Grove to celebrate my wife's birthday today and it was awesome. The place was busy but their call ahead seating worked great and we had no wait when we arrived. The food was great and the server (London) did an outstanding job all around. We also noticed that their prices were very good compared to other steakhouses in the area. The portions were so large we all had some food to bring home. Love the complimentary peanuts and hot dinner rolls with apple butter too. We will be back agin soon!

Went in on a Friday about two weeks ago and this place leaves a lot to be desired. First, it is crowded, but when the hostess quotes me a 45 minute wait, and then my table is ready in 20 minutes, there is an organizational opportunity. The host then plays with her hair a little bit, and then grabs my bread rolls to seat me...yuck! The server was attentive, speeded knowledgeable and friendly. My drinks came out slow which is fine...I know it is busy. When a bread roll is the highlight of your meal, you know you are in trouble. I had a combo plater with chicken and ribs. The chicken was tough...my guess is it came from frozen. The ribs were ok at best, but they had nothing on them...was more like the tough parts of riblets. To top it off, a heavily intoxicated guest falls flat on the floor right beside my table...I think he should have been cut off earlier. Of course management follow up was non existent. Lots to work on here.

They do upscale chain, very well. went on Saturday afternoon, with neighbors, 4 p m, busy. Our server Jessica, also happened to be a trainer, very nice, on her game. Country fried steak, a touch thin, but covered the plate, nice house salad, blue dressing to the watery side, but tasty. Other side was a baked sweet potato, , also nicely done. Others in our group had smothered Chicken, Pulled pork dinner and sirloin tips dinner, we were all quite pleased with our meal, well attended and left happy.

I first tried Texas Roadhouse in June of last year and not only did I receive excellent service from Emil, but a great recommendation for the fall off the bone ribs! My boyfriend and I have been regulars for the past 7 months now and Emil has always remembered us, welcomed us, and treated us with the same excellent service. He remembers our order and knows exactly what sides we like and how we like our meal. When we go, sometimes we have a different server who takes forever to take our order, fill our drinks, give us bread, and in one case our food came out without utensils! But have no fear, Emil is always to the rescue! I would give this place 4 stars for their delicious ribs, tater skins, baked beans (which I noticed today are not on the menu anymore?) and Cesar salad but the continued great service really puts it over the top. As for other menu items, the steaks are good for the price and the chicken is straight up chicken, a little dry so maybe squeeze a lemon on it for a kick of flavor? The free bread is to die for! The setting is nice with the pit waiting area and the peanuts everywhere. I also enjoy when the lights start flashing, the music comes on a tad louder, and the staff does their dance. Really sets a good mood for my dinners! Also, be sure to sign up for their e-mails on their website! Sometimes you get free appetizers and for your birthday, a free meal!

We went at 12:30 noon time on a Sunday. I was not so happy that we had to sit and wait especially when we were finally seated there were about 5 empty tables in our row alone. In any case the food is always great! The service is great 9 times out of ten. I asked to substitute my chicken breast for a couple of strips and the manager said no problem! We asked for a side of cherries for my son and it was no problem at all! It would have been 5 stars for me but they had no hot chocolate ugh.... Its winter, today is raining and its cold and you dont carry hot chocolate or any kind of hot soup! Very dissapointed in that but the bread is BOMB ! Yum! Noise factor is pretty loud.

To avoid the line, just sit at the bar. The girls will always take car of you. Kali ( sorry if I misspelled your name ) is very friendly and attentive. I think because they are still in Sacramento they have to be closed by 11pm. It would be nice if they kept the bar open later and just closed the restaurant down. The pulled pork is very good here but the ribs are hit and miss. If you go after 8:30 there is no line.

"call ahead seating" makes absolutely no difference. if they say 35 mins they actually mean 90 min. shoulda just told me 90 min so I wouldn't be there in exactly 35 n have to wait for 55. Should've went somewhere else. Food is good.. Waitress is nice but I'm still mad about the wait.

We go to Texas Roadhouse several times a year, and the food itself is only worth about three stars. The bottom bun on my burger last night was already soggy when the plate hit the table. Their steak is okay. Nothing special. We like the rattlesnake bites and the bread with cinnamon butter a lot. We have frequently had to send meat back to be cooked more, and there have been times we went there and they ran out of eggs to put on our house salad, and neglected to tell us until after we had ordered. They get four stars from me because the wait staff has been pleasant and attentive regardless of whose section we were in, and regardless of how busy it is. When we have sent food back, they have always been very apologetic. We go to TR for an inexpensive American meal we don't have to cook at home.

I'm a big fan of Texas Roadhouse so I suggested it for lunch on our way back from Reno. When we got there, we were greeted by a friendly hostess and were seated right away. However, our whole experience went downhill from there... Our waitress was unfriendly and looked miserable the whole time she was with us. I usually don't expect extraordinary service if the food is good but even our meal was not up to par. I sat with 3 girls and we ordered the Baby Bloomin' Cactus, a full slab of Ribs, and a 6oz steak with a total of 4 sides - mashed potatoes, sweet potato, and 2 bowls of chili. The cactus, sweet potato and chili were all exceptable but the biggest disappointment was the ribs!! They are usually juicy and tender and fall right off the bone but not here! Our ribs were too charred and completely dry. We had to ask for BBQ sauce on the side (which didn't come out until we were 3/4 done with our ribs anyway). Friends who were trying Texas Roadhouse for the first time said they would probably never visit another one again...and I agree based on this experience. From now on..I'll only be visiting the Union City location!

I wish I could give this place a better review. Each time I've came here, I was disappointed. Whether it was because my food came out later than the rest or it was because my order was made incorrectly. I hope for a better experience next time, if there's ever going to be a next time.

Went here for dinner a few weeks ago. First time here, but had heard great things. The rolls/cinnamon butter were fabulous; I could have eaten a whole dozen! We also ordered the Appetizer sampler plate (potato skins, boneless hot wings, jalapeno popper balls. Skins were good but the wings and poppers looked like they came out of a box in the freezer section of grocery store. I decided to try the ribeye and ribs sampler plate so I could ensure I had a nice variety. Got the dinner salad as 1 side dish; everything fresh and tasty and blue cheese dressing was great. Got baked potato as the other side dish w/ just butter and sour cream. I realize when you soak/salt the outside of a potato before baking, it helps the potato to bake/gives more flavor, but it was extremely salty for my tastes. The ribs were great and fall off the bone but abit dry and the bbq sauce was only ok. My steak was tender but also quite thin. (I've been guying Costco ribeyes and New Yorks and bbqing them at home, so yes, I've been spoiled by the sheer thickness and quality of their beef!). It was also salty; we asked the waiter and he said to order it "half seasoned" next time where they'll just put salt/pepper on half the steak. I took 4 bites and left it. My friend also got the salad and loaded her baked potato (extra $2). She also got a side of sauteed mushrooms. She had to send her steak back, it was so salty. They gave her a whole new fresh platter of steak/ribs and mushrooms. Alas, both mushrooms were too salty... To their credit, the waiter told his Manager and he said the Mgr tasted that particular ribeye and agreed it was too salty, so they comped us our Appetizer platter. I will probably return to try their $8.95 Early Bird Special but will def request little/no salt on my steak next time.

Our kids and whole family (5 of us, 3 in elementary) never had as much fun and good food as our time here. Our kids keep asking to go back because its their favorite (even more than red robin). Fun, good food and actually reasonable pricing! We love Texas Roadhouse even though we aren't cowboys and girls!

By far one of the best steak houses I have ever been to. The ribeye and filets are terrific. Steaks are cooked to perfection.

The 16oz sirloin here is hard to beat, great flavor and cooked to a perfect med rare. The rice pilaf is to die for not to mention the rolls, oh the rolls. I can be a loud experience and intense on the weekend, yet the food is worth it.

Do we ask for the peanuts? We had an empty pail on our table. When we came in, we were greeted, seated in a booth with some bread in a basket with butter that had cinnamon in it. When servers ask if it's our first time dining, I always think they've got some background or great things to let us in on but this chick asked and just welcomed us. (Lame). Why even ask? Just take our order or tell us something fucking fantastic. I underestimated the place, though. I was in the mood for steak and my steak was actually cooked to order right. And, it was seasoned well. They have they're own steak sauce on the tables and I wanted to try it even though the steak didn't need it. It's fucking horrible sauce. You don't need it. Entrees come with 2 sides. It isn't dirt cheap or over-priced. And, they aren't stingy with the bread. I'm giving this place 3.5 stars. Food-wise, everything's not great here but there are definite positives.

The price is on the lower end of BBQ restaurants but so is the taste. My steak wasn't great. I ordered a medium rare but it came medium. Two of my friends didn't like the ribs. Lucille's and Logan's seem like a better choice.

BEST STEAK I HAVE EVERY EATEN!!!!!! i ordered the rib eye well cooked with loaded backed potato and fries.....everything was sooooooooooooooooo fresh and good....i have never tasted a steak that was that tender and that well seasoned... not only was that main course great BUT they have the best rolls ever with the cinnamon spread and our waiter or whoever else saw that we were low they would make sure that they brought more hot and fresh ones out! last but certainly not least we had thee best waiter in the world by the name of SPENCER. i work and customer service so i am very hard on people that work it. he was super polite and always made sure that we had everything that we needed. hes the one that suggested the rib eye to me. i never give a tip if service sucks but this guy received 13 dollars from me and that's saying a lot two thumbs up to spencer and the whole crew up there....you guys did a great job and i will definitely be coming back soon.

Loud was my first impression f this place. Not loud like ear shattering loud but carrying a conversation with your indoor voice will not work here. We waited about 20 mins for a table. It was a party of six. They give you peanuts while you wait. nice! I ordered the pull pork dinner with side of green beans and steak fries. The pork itself was really tender, the sauce was a little bit sweet for me. I prefer a more savory bbq sauce. not that it was bad, just not really my preference. The green beans were great. It had a mild sweetness to it. The steak fries were steak fries! it's pretty hard to mess that up. I would come back again if i was in the area, but not really make the trip to here.

good food, great steak, great servers. the only downside I would say is the wait for a table when it is busy(on the weekends) buts that's normal for a good tasting restaurant with great service, great atmosphere and great bar. Rib eye steak and smother it with mushroom and onion! the side salad is great as well !!! it has eggs in it which most side salads don't at other places. Great place if you want a good steak and comfortable environment.

My boyfriend and I went to Texas Roadhouse because I had a coupon for my birthday from being a part of their email club. We ordered a Rib-eye and Grilled Shrimp combo with mushrooms and onions added on the steak, a baked potato and chili as the sides. We also got a sidekick of ribs. Our server, Shannon, was attentive, friendly and helpful. Even though there was a slight problem with the order, she apologized for her mistake and fixed it quickly. The food was delicious and hot. The ribs were outstanding and it was my first time trying the grilled shrimp which were very yummy. I HATE being sang to on my birthday and I mean HATE. I was a little worried bringing in the birthday coupon that I would have to ride that birthday bull, but luckily, our awesome server brought us a bowl of ice cream with 'Happy Birthday' scribbled out in chocolate sauce around the rim. Perfect ending to a perfect meal! Great food. Great service!

For a place that begins with the word Texas and is found in California, this is not a bad place to be. This particular Texas Roadhouse sits on the other side of the highway from Golden Corral. When you figure the cost of Golden Corral versus the amount you would spend at this Texas Roadhouse, the corral wins when it comes to quantity for the cost. So why the 4 stars? Ever since I can remember of the 2008 housing melt down, this Roadhouse has always seemed to do remarkable, even with the medium cost, and I attribute it to the staff and atmosphere. The free bread rolls also help. In two years of coming to the restaurant, we've never had bad service once. The staff has been friendly, and helpful. If you come at the wrong time, the wait can be somewhat long, but it's not so much the waiter's fault when the place is jam packed. The bartenders are also very nice. One time I was there, some regular patrons brought the bartender her favorite drink from Star Bucks, and she returned the love by buying them each their favorite drinks. Goes to show you the quality of service and love from the staff. The food? I feel like they do a very good job for the most part. The Roadhouse does a good job on getting the steaks the way you ask. A lot of the dishes have good quantity, just nothing like a buffet. And of course, the bread that I mentioned earlier. They come out every 15 minutes and are so warm and fresh. Mmmmm, make sure to ask for another basket right when your food comes out. You most likely won't eat anymore of the bread at that point so take that last batch home with you.

I would come here just for the bread and butter! The prime rib is my go-to, but the ribs are good too! My favorite drink is the strawberry lemonade which is made way too sweet, but I remedy that with the addition of water. The onion blossom and chicken are so-so. Fun place to go with a big group of people who are in the mood for bread and meat. Be ready to leave feeling at least ten pounds heavier. The wait can get ridiculous if you go at the wrong time. It can also get annoying when the employees stop and line dance over enthusiastically when certain songs come on. Oh, and be mindful of the peanut shells on the floor. They encourage you to eat the free peanuts and then throw the shells on the ground. Why? I don't know. Seems like a safety hazard to me.

I came here for one of my girl's gathering. All the appetizers we ordered were pretty good. The drinks were pretty good. The steaks were cooked okay... I ordered a medium rare and it came back medium well. The side dishes were good. The service was okay too.

"Texas Roadhouse? For your birthday !?!" I asked my cousin incredulously. Then I sarcastically added with a grin, "Are you pulling my CHAIN?" followed by "What are your thoughts on Dick CHAINy?" All that drama and resistance and turns out it's an A-OK place for meat. I'd give meat here like 4 stars. Everyone else was happy with their meat as well. I'm not sure how this place cranks out the nearly fall off the bone ribs, but it does. All that was missing was a bit of smokiness that comes with real BBQ. Me also likey warm bread with cinammon and butter. The sides were generally useless though. Also our spunky server deserves props for returning fire on every a-hole comment our group made. It wasn't her fault the place barely opened and the bar couldn't keep up with the amount of beer we drink. I'd definitely talk sh$# next time someone suggests it since there are better options at the price. Then I'd tag along and happily eat meat.

One hint! The people cooking here are high school dropouts. It does not cease to amaze me that places like this actually stay in business. The guy sitting next to me complained about his t-bone steak and the manager said "did the waitress try to talk you out of the t-bone?" Wait! What? Seriously? If you have to talk people out of dishes you might try spending time convincing your management to take the dish out of your menu perhaps. He got 30% off and a free appetizer for the next time. I am on a quest to find a chain steakhouse worth going to! My food was cold, the steak was cooked to the perfection of a prison cafeteria. The shrimp were lukewarm. The bread was a spongy mish mash of a steamed dough ball. The peanuts were great. Wake up America! If a Hindu is telling you that the steaks here suck, you should know better to eat here.

New rule: Head for the exit if a restaurant is attempting to add "charm" by having it's patrons toss peanut shells on the floor. This is the second chain to add this feature (the other is Logan's...also a self proclaimed "roadhouse"). Why stop there. Why not have your customers toss their napkins or food scraps on the floor? Because it's trashy, that's why. Just like a carpet of crunchy brown peanut shells. On to the food: I'm from Texas, and this ain't Texas. Just because it's ribs or fried food, doesn't mean it's Texas. Just like Jack-in the Box Tacos aren't Mexican (not that they aren't good in a 2 AM kind of way). Summary: Very busy with a long wait at meal times. Average grub. Trash on the floor (on purpose).

Good place to have steak if you don't want to drive too far. Btw, avoid the line by getting there right before the busy crowd! They got good bread and I generally get their fillet medallions. The portions are pretty large so it's easy to share. The service is pretty good for the most part. Oh, it's pretty loud so having a conversation can be difficult.

Alright, before I get to the food I must say the Service is outstanding. Growing up Asian in the Deep Southeastern US, I'm used to stares and head shakes when I enter places like these. One of my friends invited me out so who am I to say no to free food. I can't thank the staff enough for just a wonderful experience and a great time. Now for the food: Its one step up from Outback and one step down from Ruth Christs. For the price, it is the best bang for your buck if you want a great steak. The prime rib is excellent, seriously almost up there with House of Prime Rib in SF at half the price. I will definately be returning with my cowboy hat too....yeehaw!

Elk Grove. The land of tract housing and an inordinate amount of chain restaurants. A plethora of chains that really suck ass and Texas Roadhouse falls into that infamous category. The only good quality about this place is the rolls with cinnamon butter. The peanut shells on the ground are unsanitary IMO. I get what they are trying to do with this feature, but still...... Really loud here. I mean really loud. Popularity is the cause of the above issue, but it is what it is. I felt like a steak and I dragged my friend here due to the fact that many co workers RAVE about this place. 100 percent of my co workers aren't Yelpers by the way. My friend ordered the appetizer sampler and she commented that the only things that were FAIRLY edible were the rattlesnake bites. Note: Chain restaurants that give quirky names to their selections are hiding the fact that their food blows. I ordered the prime rib with steak fries and Caesar salad as my sides. The salad was a salad. The steak fries the same. The prime rib was below average. The friend that I went with made me prime rib once and hers was 10 times better. A place that prides itself on good steaks SHOULD have good steaks.

I went to Texas Roadhouse in Elk Grove today & while walking to the restroom there was a mouse trying to get into the peanuts! We informed our waitress & she said that she would let her manager know. We never saw anyone go check the area? Pretty much ruins any food you ordered if there are rodents running, who knows where? I love Texas Roadhouse! But sadly, doubt I will be returning.

Ate here for dinner earlier and my tummy is HAPPY!! Usually eat here at least once a month. They have some delicious cinnamon butter dinner rolls that I sometimes would stop by to order before going on any long trips. Complimentary if you dine in! My bf and I ordered a cactus blossom (compliments the horseradish sauce), Ribeye Steak (medium rare), ribs (fall off the bone), ceasar salad (would love more croutons) and steak fries (yum). We used to order two - three appetizers with two meals that we will never be close to finishing. Most of the time our eyes are larger than our appetite. So we gradually reduced our order to find that one appetizer and one large meal was perfect for the two of us. They give really good portions so the food was more than plenty. Although my eyes were contemplating on adding an order of pickled chips.. Pickled Chips: the sound of that excites my taste buds.. But I guess I will have to wait for my next trip to Texas Roadhouse to look forward to that! BTW.. we got there at 6PM on a Saturday night. The parking lot was FULL!! we got inside and the waiting area was FULL!! luckily there was only 2 of us so our estimated wait was 15-20minutes. I hate some restaurants that tell you that the wait is shorter so that you will sit there and supposedly wait for 20 minutes to find yourself still sitting there waiting 2 hours later (true story-on several occasions). Take this, 9 minute wait!! I couldn't believe it myself!! Plus points for Texas Roadhouse! when we left, parking lot was still FULL! For larger parties, try calling in to make a reservation if you don't want to wait too long!! Happy eating!! =) Service Friendly Food Yummy Price Affordable

I honestly don't know how else their prime rib can be improved upon except to have it on fine china and get rid of the plastic cups of horse radish. I've eaten A LOT of free steak on my company's dime at the 'best' steak houses from most of the places I've visited (Chicago, Austin, Denver, NY just to name a few)...the point in me saying this is just to say that they all claim to being the beat but G-damn me if I'm wrong when I say TRH's prime rib ARE the best I've Ever put in my mouth. There isn't that 20% worth of inedible fat, that until now I've thought added to the flavor and juiciness. But I was wrong - it's NOT needed. TRH's does not have fat that you have to leave behind yet the meat was soooo tender (yes fork tender-if I may use this over used term). You owe it to urself to try something this perfected...(again fine China would help). I almost think they're doing something sciency back there cause they can't be buying a more expensive piece of meat than the other places!?!? Anywho it's not my place to over analyze...it's just to eat and enjoy! And I definitely enjoyed...

Yes this place is great if you like steaks and all that stuff. You get free peanuts while waiting and the peanut shells make the place feel messy, you feel like your in Texas even though i have never been to Texas so i wouldnt know Their Rare steak is my favorite as it is the only thing i get, ive gotten ribs once but their steak is the best. Make it bloody too. Oh and the other thing, that sweet bread they give you at your table, its so damn good i eat atleast 3 of them before i get my food. Yes try this place, it pricey if your a poor bum but youll come out satisfied.

Steak & ribs! Yum! Steak is a little too salty, the ribs were ok. I love the complimentary dinner rolls, it's fluffy and delicious! The service here is wonderful, I can't wait to go back!

Horrible experience. Had my window of my brand new truck smashed in during broad daylight. The crooks also hit an suv at the same time. At about 6:00pm (fully light outside) on June 5, 2011. While my truck was in the business parking lot!! An employee told me that this has happend to their customers OVER 30 TIMES IN LAST COUPLE YEARS!! Yet the management has done NOTHING TO PREVENT IT. They just try to sweep it under the rug. They don't have security cameras outside (the parking lot isn't that large), no security guard, they don't even let an employee walk outside (except on their mandatory break time) to keep an eye on their customers vehicles and property. Bottom line: TEXAS ROADHOUSE IS JUST A GREEDY MONEY HUNGRY BUSINESS THAT CARES NOTHING ABOUT IT'S CUSTOMERS VEHICLE'S SECURITY OR PROPERTY. SHAME ON THEM!! A Sheriff report has been filed with the Sacramento Sheriff dept if anyone would like to view it. The temporary tracking number (it takes 10 days to get an actual report number) is T11007311. STAY AWAY IF YOU DON'T WANT YOUR VEHICLE SMASHED!

Normally I do not write a review when their are so many other. But as I enjoy both the Tracy and Elk Grove locations and have been to them over ten times. Here is my two cents worth. Excellent service EVERY time at both locations!, Ya sometimes a little wait (use the call ahead service), sometimes a little noisy, But if you are a booze hound you will not care. Consistent good quality of food and fair pricing. The only reason it does not get a fifth star is I do not give them. ignore the reviews below 4 stars.

I've been to Texas Roadhouse twice now, and both events were good eats. They have the best softest most yummy rolls ever. it comes with sweet cinnamon butter, melts in your mouth, and you can ask for more and more, until your gut is about to bust! the meats are good too. I've had their fall off the bones ribs.. seriously, you'll be eating it with your fork. I've also had their prime ribs, pretty tasty. only disappointment was their strip steak.. it was very dry. but i just poured their bbq sauce on it and it was fantastic! The sides were just ok. prices were what you'd expect from a chain steak place, middle of the road. don;t forget to toss your peanuts on the floor.. thats part of the fun.

I went here for my birthday dinner with the bf and a few family members. I've heard good things and all I really wanted was a simple and casual dinner, nothing big. I ordered the sirloin steak and ribs...yes, I can eat. lol Although, I wasn't able to touch the ribs until the next day at home because the steak and baked potato filled me up, plus the 24 oz beer and the yummy bread with butter. Towards the end of the meal, after I couldn't move anymore, our waitress brought over some ice cream, which I had to take a few bites out of...very satisfiying. I didn't want to spoil my dinner, so I didn't touch the peanuts. All in all it was a good meal and I will come back again.

Value - 4 Stars Quality - 4 Stars Food - 4 Stars ( for a chain ) Drinks - 5 Stars Service - 3.5 Stars Atmosphere - 4 Stars Would I go back and bring friends - yes It has been a few years since I have been to the Texas Roadhouse, and I don't know why it has taken me this long to return. The food is good and the price is good. I don't really have a complaint at all. I would give this place 4 stars, but I don't hand out 4 or 5 stars very easy, but this place is pretty damn good. I ordered the 6oz top sirloin, medium rare, side of spare ribs, twice baked mashed potatoes, loaded and the Caesar Salad. It was all very tasty. The drink, not sure what it was called but it was similar to a true margarita with a splash of cranberry. Very good. Just go, don't read the reviews, just go and try it.

I have never, in all my dining experience, had such a marvelous server as I did with this lovely woman that I will call B. (Send me a message if you plan to dine there and I will give you her name because you would not want any other) Although my steak wasn't cooked to how I liked, which was more done than medium, her service made up for it all. She was not only warming and welcoming, but also considerate and good natured. She played along with our jokes and did everything she could to ensure that we were taken care of. She even ensured that we had fresh rolls to take home with our leftovers! I come from over a decade of food and customer service so I know how hard it is to serve people. On the opposite spectrum as a patron, I've come across so much bad service that I've always expected it but she was a breath of fresh air. Her excuse was that her mother raised her right. However, it goes beyond that, she showed great character and pride it what she does in serving others and I hope that she gets the recognition that she deserves from you guys because someone like that is what will help you retain customers for life. I know that I will be returning to her section every time I dine at Texas Road House.

Bad Experience here again. I say again because this isn't the first time but we go back every now and then to see if anything changes. This is just asking for trouble. When we arrived for dinner, we only had to wait 10 minutes. During dinner time this was pretty good. We were seated and told the waitress would be right with us. No kidding 15 minutes went by and no one had taken our order or given us drinks. I said ok that's it let's go! Then this guy comes up and says he can take our order. He takes our food order and drink order. He comes back 5 minutes later and says this other girl is now taken over for him. So we waited 10 more minutes before she came up and introduced herself. Now we are going on 30 minutes and we don't have drinks still. By the way we never saw that guy again. This is what we concluded. Our waitress was late getting to her shift so they had some guy who buses tables tables take our order. As a result of her being late, we didn't get drinks for a half our. I order shrimp skewers. When my dinner finally came, I took the shrimp off the skewer. I bit into my first shrimp and was poked in the mouth by a piece of wood from the skewer. Now this is something I order a lot of at different restaurants and I have NEVER experienced this. I don't want to waste anymore of time with this place. I always end up leaving annoyed!

Tonight was the third time I'd been to this Texas Roadhouse, and I have always had a great meal there. The best steak I had was the bone-in ribeye, which was TERRIFIC but way, way too big for me. (Although the leftovers made a great sandwich.) So I've started getting either the 8-ounce or the 12-ounce sirloin, and both are wonderful. The service is always fast and friendly, too. I caution you not to give too much credence to the complainers on this site, because this restaurant is always, always packed, and that's the best possible recommendation, IMHO. My only gripe is that, since it's always packed, it's always noisy, but if that really bothers you, well, order another margarita, why don't you?

This is what we had between 4 of us: their homemade bread! (LOVE IT!) kids mini burgers pulled pork sandwich fried pickles (the ones at hooters are better) catfish with green beans (good) & seasoned rice fried shrimp with ceasar salad & sweet potato **the fried shrimp is not on the menu, but we asked if they could do it since everything else is fried....YUMMY! after we ate, the manager suggested getting the garlic butter with the fried shrimp the next time we order the fried shrimp...gave us some with our leftovers to go, it was BOMB.

I LOVE this place! Great tasting entrees, ribs that fall off the bones, & steak cooked to your liking. Try not to fill up on the dinner rolls before you get your entree. Writing this review is making me hungry! The employees are friendly & attentive and most importantly the services is prompt.

Would have been 5-stars, but the changing table in the women's bathroom was seriously disgusting. there were no paper covers and people had stuffed used baby wipes in the spot where the covers should be. There was fecal matter on the changing table and it was super-grimy looking. I told the manager about the situation and he told me he'd have someone clean it, but this was not grime that had built up over a week or even a month! The food was excellent as at the other locations we've been to, and the server we had was really excellent. I'm sure we'll be back on our way to/from Tahoe, but I'll probably be changing my kids in the car from now on.

They got them some dang good chili at Texas Roadhouse! It's really hearty. It has a smokey flavor, too! To quote Rachel Ray, "Yummo!" I got a Coconut Margarita, which was very good. It came in a big, and dangerously heavy goblet. They had several flavors to choose from, unfortunately I only tried the one. So far. I ate at the bar. The bartender lady (I hate "bar maid") was attentive and a down to earth gal. The manager dropped by a couple of times. He was awesome! We had a nice chat. He was really involved with employees and customers.

My wife decided to bring me out to a steakhouse for a dinner. We always wanted to come here as we drive along 99 often. We decided to give Texas Roadhouse a shot one Saturday night. When we got there, there was a fair amount of people. We did not have to wait long for a table of two. This one my wife's first time to Texas Roadhouse. She asked me why was the floors were so dirty. I explained to her that this is the only restaurant where you can throw peanut shells at each other. You can eat em and just leave the shells on the floor if you want. She still doesnt get it. LOL! When our names were called for seating, this cute little waitress guided us to our table. She was one of the best waitresses we ever had. She was very helpful and answered all my wife's questions regarding the food. Throughout dinner, she made sure to check on us to see if everything was doing okay. This is a major plus for me! I ordered a 16oz medium rare New York strip along with a ice cold beer. The steaks come with any two sides of your choice. I got a baked potato and a caesar salad. You know I got to keep the body sexy. haha. The steak was cooked to perfection. The steak look super awesome with its grill marks. As soon as I cut through it, all the juices were just spilling out. The meat was so soft and tender that it seemed to just melt in my mouth. All in all. This is one of my favorite steakhouses in town. The food is great and the atmosphere is just super fun. They offer a variety of steaks and they are all cooked to your liking. I would definitely recommend people to come and give it a try.

It's an appetizer but it fills you up so quick! Steak is soft and tender just how i like it :) Also the drinks are delicious too! just can't get enough!!

I took my parents to an early dinner here on a Monday. We were immediately greeted with warm smiles from at least 5 hostesses and were led to our seats immediately before the door even closed. A basket of the signature buttered, glistening rolls with a side of cinnamon butter spread were grabbed on the way by our seater. A bag of perfectly salted peanuts awaited us at our booth. There are some early dinner specials til 6pm but it appeared to be only about $1-$2 saving. I always get the double chop with your choice of 2 sides. They have variety of sides available. My parents had the Prime Rib which was tender and very reasonably priced. Our server was fabulous and brought over fresh rolls without us asking and packed some to go. She even offered my Dad a bag of peanuts she noticed he hadn't stopped munching on them. On a busy packed night, they crank up a tune and all the workers do a line dance around the restaurant! They also have call ahead seating for their busy nights!

I see there is some mixed reviews. But I have to say, I have been here about 6 times and NEVER left disappointed. This place is GREAT!!! I love the bread with the Cinnamon butter. We had the potato skins - GREAT! THE RIB-EYE STEAK ........ WOW !!! The whole dining experience is great here. I think you know what you are getting when you go to a place called TEXAS ROADHOUSE !!! So I loved every part of the experience.

We were driving by and had decided that we had never been to a Texas Roadhouse before so we were ready to give it a try. It was around about 3:30 when we came up to the door and we were shocked that we had to wait an additional 30 min for the place to open at 4pm. This was strange because I've never seen a restaurant open at 4pm. I was thinking that they must do great business to be able to open that late during the day. So I came in and the server immidatldly led us to our table. The table that we were sitting at was actually very small and barley had enough room for our food/drinks. Upon being seated we were affected fresh bread with a Ciniman butter spread which was very interesting. While I was going through the drink menu, I realized that they did not have prices for the drinks on the menu. That kind of sucks because I don't really like to play the guessing game all that much when it comes to the bill. I ordered the 11 oz sirloin a loaded baked potato and green beans. The sirloin was not half bad, but the baked potato and green beans were totally amazing. I couldn't stop eating. We actually ended up leaving super stuffed and super happy. The price wasn't that bad either, for two people the whole bill was $36.00. Not too shabby!

I love love love this place. Service is always top-notch. The Prime Rib is oohlala. Their New York Strip is really good, too. My boyfriend likes steak so much, this is our go-to place because he lives nearby. I love their house salad. I always pair it with Italian sauce.

Five stars for the steaks! Specifically my 24 ounce sirloin! Yum! I don't think Ruth could cook a better steak. I've never been there and no desire to go. I'm quite happy with Texas Roadhouse.

Be careful what you wish for from a chain steakhouse. The service was great albeit a long wait for a table (30-40min) on Friday night. 4 stars for the free peanuts and the endless amounts of buttered bread with whipped cinnamon butter. Those two things alone will keep me coming back. The food is what yo expect from a chain place. Big big portions but generally over cooked and over sauced. Can't complain if you're just hungry and want to eat a lot. Great for family and friend parties and birthdays.

If you want a great steak at a great price, look no further. I have had them all, New York, ribeye etc, the only one so do not recommend sadly is the tbone, apparently that's the only one they don't cut in house, and even my waited recommended against it. Their bread and butter is even great! Staff is always friendly, and singing/dancing. Never had a complaint about Texas arose house, can't wait to try the new location right up the street from me!

I'm not that big of a meat eater, I'm more into the sides (carbs *sigh), but my boyfriend loves ribeye so off to Texas Roadhouse we go. There's usually a wait, but it's not too bad. Parking can be difficult - you'll probably drive around the lot a couple of times looking for a space. Once you're seated they bring you their DELICIOUS bread. MMM it's always fresh and hot and they serve it with a cinnamon butter. So good. The last time we were here I ordered the prime rib and I was not disappointed! The meat was a perfect pink and you could actually taste the smokiness in the meat. It was served with a good au jus and two sides. I had the house salad with ranch first then mashed potatoes and gravy to go along with the meat. WIth the mashed potatoes you have the option of white or brown gravy. I got the brown and enjoyed it. One downside to the mashed potatoes is that they do not peel their potatoes (or at least not completely). I don't like the chunks of random skin. My boyfriend got his mashed potatoes loaded with cheese and bacon bits. I like their house salad because it has chopped tomatoes, hard boiled eggs, and cheese. My boyfriend likes the Cesar. The price was pretty fair too. I had the smallest 10 oz and it was $19. After trimming off the outer ring of fat, I finished it all! My boyfriend really likes the rib-eye, but he can never finish it haha. The portions are pretty big. The cactus blossom aka blooming onion is also huge and delicious! It's a bit much for even two people to finish, but worth it if you have a small group. On Wednesdays they have a "Wild West Wednesday" special where you get a sirloin with shrimp and two sides. That's a pretty good deal, though the steak is on the smaller side. It was too much for me, but wouldn't be enough for my boyfriend. This isn't a great place to bring a big group or party because there aren't any big tables. If my memory serves me correctly, they're actually all booths. I came here with my boyfriend's family before and the 8 of us had to split into two booths of four... not exactly ideal if you want to catch up and talk to each other. The service isn't anything memorable, they're alright. I would return and order the prime rib again.

My first time here! I usually avoid chains, but I wanted a nice piece of MEAT. The place has a loud, but fun atmosphere. From time to time, the staff would do a line dance. It was super packed when I went. In order to expedite the process, you can call ahead. They'll give you a reservation number, but there will still be a wait time. Besides steaks, I've heard about their peanuts. I didn't see any peanuts though. I'm not sure if they forgot to give it to us or what. The fresh-baked rolls with cinnamon butter are something not to be missed. I usually don't eat rolls, but these were soft and yummy. As my entrée, I had the Ft. Worth Ribeye. 10 oz was more than enough for me. The steak was juicy and tender. My meal came with two sides. I had the house salad (cheddar cheese, tomato, eggs, and croutons) and baked potato. I enjoyed the salad a lot, and should've gotten 2 servings of it. I had the option of getting the baked potato loaded, but that would've been double the calories! Not that I'm counting...

Am I the only one who never orders steak when they go to a steak house?... This is only the second time I've been here and it's like down the street from my house, but I don't crave Texas Roadhouse all that much so whatevs :3 So you've got your typical restaurant with a bar area (right? yeah), but since it's "Texas", it's gotta be decorated like you're in some Western cowboy movie showdown thing. It's loud of course, with the football game showing on tv and men hollerin'. And some babies crying around you...unless you're lucky hehe jk. So yeah it's a loud place. Anyways, my family all ordered some typa steak while I got the grilled salmon. Each order comes with 2 sides, so I ordered the seasoned rice and mashed potatoes w/ gravy. The salmon came with this buttery(?) lemon sauce and it was pretty good! I think it was kinda sweet too? Or the salmon was? I dunno, but it wasn't bad at all. I was planning on trying steak for once, but wow...you know when you're always with your significant other and like they say, you get influenced and start becoming alike or something... Well my boo wasn't here, but he's always ordering salmon so I dunno, I saw "grilled salmon", thought of my man, and ordered it. And thank goodness it wasn't terrible! Thanks boo :-* (ok I'm probs your avg crazy gf) As for the sides, the mashed potatoes were good! I really enjoyed the potatoes, but the gravy was a little too much. Maybe I should've been "healthy" and ask for no gravy lol. The seasoned rice was alright at first, but as I consumed more of it...it got sickening. It's kinda salty and too seasoned for me. Their dinner rolls w/ that delicious cinnamon butter is always great though :-) Customer service was superb! I forgot her name, but she was awesome. Always came around to make sure everything was good and took our empty plates away as soon as we finished dining. Would I come back? Eh...maybe next year or something. Tonight was the second time I've been here since like, years ago LOL. It's not terrible, but I guess I'm not a huge fan of their food.

This is a chain restaurant so I will make it quick: Wait time was less than 5 min on a weekday afternoon (3 stars) Asked server for silverware three times before we got any. To be fair she was the only server for the whole bar and adjacent area which can't be easy (1 star) Prices are good and portion sizes are too. Food is always yummy. (4 stars) Bathroom was clean enough. Lighting is poor and the place is noisy. (2 stars) Would I go back? Only if the group wants to, which is the only reason I ever go.

I have dined here many times but this was the first time for lunch. It was pretty crowded for a Saturday at noon. I was pleasantly greeted and seated along with a basket of their fresh made rolls and honey butter. After looking over the rather extensive menu, I decided on a Bacon Cheeseburger with a sidekick of ribs. After devouring 2 of the 4 fresh and warm rolls, my lunch arrived. Wow, the burger was awesome and the fries were crispy and just how I like them. Now for the ribs.... the best that I have ever eaten. They were so tender the meat fell right off of the bones. I didn't get my fingers sticky because I could eat them with a fork. I have always eaten here during the dinner hours and enjoyed their choice of steaks, but now I have another choice, the ribs! BTW, the server, Sam, was great.... very attentive and always checking on me to see if everything was okay and if I needed anything. Kudos to Sam!! Located at the Calvine Road offramp and Highway 99, the restaurant can be seen from the east side of the freeway. If you haven't been there before, stop by sometime and get a great meal.

Location: Surrounded by Tires store. Store: Very dim and peanut shell everywhere Food: Amazing! The atmosphere here is very lively and loud. Perfect for sports viewing with friends and families. Enough about the location and lets get on with the food talk. I can never decide on what kind of steak to get. I love everything on the menu as well. The only thing I cannot get enough of are the dinner rolls. Mmmmhmmm, With the right amount of butter, I will just instantly fall in love with it. So back to the steak, a general rule of thumb is get it medium rare because the flavor will taste even better. Usually I have to season the steak but this place just wows me. Service was pretty fast, so I can't really complain.

Sangria margarita great for a hot summer day....Get the extra shot though if you want that extra umph. Onion blossom never fails me. Their horseradish sauce is bomb diggity. Fried catfish, unlimited bread, fall off the bone ribs good stuff

I love this place, well the sides could be a little better but the steak is all I really need. So juicy and tender. Great price and huge steak. They have call ahead seating. The parking can at times be a challenge but the food is well worth a few laps around the lot in search for a parking spot. The margaritas are another favorite of mine.

I've been meaning to review this place since my family has been eating here since it's opened. Normally I would rate this place at 4-5 stars, but this last time I gave it a 3 due to the service we received. The food is always really good, the margaritas are delicious (try blended peach, raspberry and strawberry). Most of the time there's a huge wait but they're good about getting you within the time range. The dish I've been stuck on lately is called roadkill... It's basically a hamburger patty smothered with onions cheese and mushrooms, plus your 2 sides! Anyways that's the norm when I make a trip here.. But the last time the server I had was in essence the least cheerful person I've ever met. She never smiled, when i asked her for something at one point she said "yup" while looking at something on the other side of the restaurant. She seemed to be having the worst day of her life... Most of the time the servers are fast and attentive but that's what you expect anywhere you eat.. What I liked about this place was the conversation and personalization they added to their job... But that is not what I got the last time I ate here. Still up for going back!

If your into beef and bbq, Texas Roadhouse is it. Their drinks are huge, but ask for less ice so you get more of the beverage. Their portions are big enough for two to share and the warm bread buns with cinnamon butter are addicting. You also get a bucket of peanuts. Mmmmm....soooooo good. The only bad thing is that it's a bit loud, so if your looking for a romantic quiet dinner...forget it. Also, unless you go early expect to wait a while....I promise it's worth the wait.

I'll admit I had the same prejudices about chains as so many people. But that feeling is moot as beef here is sourced from the same livestock as so many other non-chain restaurants. So I have been here twice over a span of a month. I must say the cookery here is perfect. My medium rare bone-in rib eye came out perfectly reddish pink and warm. The gradation of the crust is thin all around and points to an even sear. Much like Ruth's Chris, only salt and black pepper are used to enrich the beefy flavors. It's quite simply delicious. I was here on a Saturday to a pack house. My wait time, even with a phone in queue, was 49 minutes. Not bad. However, waiting for a table was a bit uncomfortable due to the lack of waiting room space. I am 6'3. After trying to play human Tetris, I had to wait outside. They should consider expanding this area somewhat. As for the service, the first time was excellent. The second time was equally great. The floor manager greeted us and asked us how our dinner was on both occasions. The only time I saw attitude was in the waiting area. Some of the girls there seem flustered trying to lead a party through the crowd. But that all seems too minor. 4.5 stars.

This place is always busy. They have a quasi-reservation "check-in" system, but they still make you wait. You call in and they give you a reservation number that you must give them. Calling in might take ten minutes off a normal 30 minute wait time. You need to check, because they once forgot to put me in the queue (they have teens running the desk). The place is very noisy, but the periodic staff line dancing is fun. I have a kid with a peanut allergy, and we are always a little nervous about eating here because there are peanut shells all over the floor. These come from the free peanuts on the table I always feel stuffed and bloated when I leave this place. Part of that is a result of their unlimited rolls, which are yeasty and delicious. It can't help but eat one after another. Bloat is not a good thing, it leads to a sleepless night. Maybe it's not fair to dock a point for bloat, I am nearly ill after each visit. Yes, it is my own fault. The food is above average, but not exemplary, thus the docking of a second stars.

Their bread rolls are AMAZING! Probably the food item I look forward to the most every time I come here. My steak always comes out exactly how I like it, and I think it's fairly inexpensive and fulfilling considering the two choices of sides to accompany the steak. Service is always on par, definitely coming back when I'm in the mood for steak... Or bread rolls haha

Best steak! I had an 8oz. Dallas filet medium well. This was so tasty and flavorful, finally a steak house that's not afraid of flavoring their steaks!! Went for Mother's Day and it was a long wait but so worth it. We ordered Bone in rib steak, ribs, filets, shrimp, sirloin streak and rib eye (no bone). With sides fries, baked potato and loaded mashed potato ( cheese, onion, bacon). We also ordered appetizers (2) a Cactus blossom ( onion rings) and cheese fries ( with bacon bits). All came with hot rolls. The appetizers- I would so have the Cactus blossom again it was cooked well and tasted great, but I would also advise to forgo the appetizers all together because the rolls are free and frequent and not to mention your actual food you order for lunch/dinner. The rolls come with a cinnamon butter. This was not something I enjoyed as I want savory not sweet with my steak. But other family members enjoyed it. I asked for butter and they brought back a yummy whipped butter. Next was our meals. My steak was so good, cooked well done and so flavorful. My son ordered a 20oz bone in ribeye and ate every single ounce of it and can't wait to go back! Daughter ordered shrimp & sirloin and she had zero complaints other than she was too full to finish her meal. Her sirloin steak was also cooked to her liking (medium) and was juicy and flavorful. Other son ordered ribs and thee meat was falling off the bone and was so tender ( I tasted them and I'm not usually a fan of ribs but I had to try these). Hubby ordered rib eye no bone he said one of the best steaks he's had. Only complaint from my dinner would be the baked potato was not fully cooked but hubby said I should have ordered the loaded mashed potato because it was BOMB! Overall we can't wait to go back and kids are mad because we hadn't been here before. Said we have been holding out on them!!

1 star for ridiculous host service. I came for dinner around 6pm and was rejected a seat until my entire "party" arrived. It would be understandable if our group had 10 and they needed everyone there. This was not the case. There is a total of 3 and only 2 were here. Being forced to wait for a table for such a small group is absolutely unnecessary. I will not be returning in the future because everyone at the table has to suffer because one person is late.

This place is great. Obviously known for there bread here. I tried making it at home but the recipe I got was no where near there bread. I only come here for one thing and one thing only. I get the prime rib medium, medium rare sometimes. I tried out other things(sometimes good, sometimes dry) but nothing compares to the prime rib. It's so soft and it melts in your mouth. If I could come here all the time just to eat prime rib, I would and it's close to the house. But I rather not. It gives me a reason to come back a couple months after eating at this place and be excited like always the next time I come. I REALLY RECOMMEND THE PRIME RIB GUYS!

Knowing full well that the restaurant is busy on Friday evenings, we called them at 6:00 PM using their "Call Ahead" option. Told them we had 7 people coming for a birthday dinner and we'd like to be there at 7:30 so what time did we need to be there? They put us on the list at #119 and said to be there about 7:15. Hostess said if we arrived and the wait was 45 minutes we would be seated in about 20 since we called ahead. Fast forward to 7:10. On our way we called the restaurant again and told the host who answered the phone what number we were and that we had one extra person now making it 8 people. His answer. 9:00 PM... Well we called in and we are #119 on the list? Sorry we can't seat 8 people until 9:00 PM. Absolute jack-wad on the phone. Could care less about his customers or the fact that we used his company's recommended way to get a table. That being said we went to Mikuni's and dropped $500 on dinner. Come Monday I'll be happy to contact the corporate office and express my disagreement with their company policy. As a side note, one member of our party told a story of him calling for a birthday party for 16 and the restaurant also told him that they don't serve parties of that size.....in that situation they went to Logan's Roadhouse and had dinner.

This place has very veryy good service i just dont know why they made us wait 15 minutes to be seated when the place was empty. The appetizers were good ordered the blossom onions thing and cheese fries. Bomb dot com! And they have deals for 8.99$ til 6pm so i got a country fried sirloin a cup of chili and rice for 9$!! Deal!!

Texas Roadhouse, I absolutely love your service and your delicious cinnamon dip with bread rolls. Hot and fresh, and handed to you as soon as you're sat. I called and did call ahead seating to be put on the list. Just a heads up, this is not reservations, and you do have to come within 15 min to check in. We were quoted 35 minutes, and didn't wait too long upon our arrival. This place has so many workers that their turn around time is amazing. I literally saw three buss boys waiting for tables to leave so they could clear it! The hostess were friendly and kind. Our server bobby wasn't too shabby either. He was very polite, and did everything we asked for. My boyfriend had a full rack of ribs, and finished it! I had a 16oz prime rib, which was served with horseradish upon request. It wasn't the best, but it was still worth my money. I love the seasoned rice, but it can get a tad salty.

Like a lot of people, I too am wary of big chains as service and quality can be a toss up. I have come to this Texas Roadhouse in Elk Grove about 10 times on different occasions and with different groups of people and every single visit has been exceptional. I definitely recommend calling ahead even if you think it may not be busy because it can go 0-100 real quick. Anyway as soon as you sit down they serve you a platter of sweet warm bread (with cinnamon infused butter) that can only be described as heavenly. I usually order the Sirloin plate with a Shrimp skewer and let me tell you the sirloin is always perfectly cooked exactly how I want it: juicy, tender, pure perfection. The shrimp is equally delicious but the steak is the real star here. Customer service has been solid every visit everyone seems happy to help and answer any questions. Well deserved 5 stars.

The fried pickles weren't too bad, just a bit salty for my taste; my friend thought it was good. I ordered a medium rare sirloin steak with ribs, and for the sides I got the green beans and buttered corn. The steak was prepared just how I like it. I thought the ribs were a bit dry. The green beans and buttered corn were good too. The service was even good for how busy they were.

My friends and I came in for lunch. It was more of a late lunch so it wasn't crowded which was nice. We were seated near the bar so we were able to chat and see the TV, too. We were greeted by a very nice server. He promptly got our drinks and gave us a few minutes to go over our menu. My friend and I both ordered the small sirloin with baked potatoes and a salad. My other buddy had chicken fried steak with gravy, mashed potatoes, and a salad. Their rolls were soooooo DELISH!! So soft and warm. Their butter was nice and soft...creamy with a hint of honey. Our steaks were very tasty. Loved the baked potato...loaded!! Lol. They baked it in sea salt. The salad was good, but nothing memorable. Not bad...just the normal side salad. We loved the peanuts!! They now bag the nuts and put it in the bucket. Not sure if it's all you can eat anymore. Lol. Overall, everyone was very friendly. Our drinks were refilled promptly. The overall look was clean. Not even peanuts on the floor. Lol. Minus a star because my friend had a long hair in his salad. Both guys had short hair almost buzzed cuts and different hair color from mine. Lol. Our server replaced it with a new one and apologized.

Well the biscuits are fresh and glazed . Very sweet but too sweet for my liking after you eat about 2 . I ordered sweet tea and half rack of ribs. The ribs had a glaze on them that harden . The meat closer to the bone was more tender the outside which was very hard. Ribs didn't taste smoked or BBQ . That's how I like my Ribs. Dry rubbed with some BBQ sauce . Place at first glance thought it was Logan's . It looks exactly the same . All the way down to the peanuts on the floor. I guess I was expecting a BBQ joint. nothing special it was ok I guess. Service was great even on Father's Day .

I was in here with a couple of friends for dinner. The hostess was very attentive and very nice. I got seated right away. Our waitress was very attentive and super cool. She come out with a basket of their famous buns and spread. She took our order and did not make a mistake. She then come out with our drinks right after. When she come out with our food everything looked amazing. She has to be the BEST server I ever had. She check up on us to make sure we were okay and if there was anything she can do for us. She didn't rush us and she didn't check up on us so much that we couldn't enjoy our meal. She was absolutely perfect. I would definitely come here again & I would totally want the same server. To bad I didn't catch her name. She is so upbeat, joking with us and did her job to a T! I will be looking for her the next time I come in.

This place can be a hit or miss. Sometimes my hostess can be a B word. But thank god she is just a host. The server is great as the usual. Always checking to see if we are okay or not. I wish their mac n cheese wasnt from the box. Every time I come here the food is a little too salty for my taste and it just ruins my appetite. For example when they make their baked potato they put so much salt on it that it seems like you just consumed enough salt for the entire month. But I always get their T bone steak. You can never go wrong with steak. On the bright side their margaritas are the shit. Their happy hours are an hour before they close which is a plus.

It's a fun place to visit the staff & atmosphere is energetic but such a huge chain without a happy hour is just plain old greedy! The food is what's to be expected but nothing special from a Steakhouse. We came here for my anniversary with some friends. I guess we stayed too long because they asked to move to the bar because they needed the table. There was no available seating at the bar so we left. I've never been asked to leave a restaurant. Get your Sh*% together Roadhouse!

Everything was great!! It was a long waiting line, but it moved so quickly. Plus the peanuts helps out while you wait. Anyway we waiting about 20 min before we were seated. The host was nice and friendly. But I have to give 2 thumbs up to our waiter Jack Budmark (sorry if it's misspelled) he was super nice and friendly great customer service. I'm usually so picky with my steaks I told him that I didn't want it well done but also not medium rare lol, & so it was just perfect. The environment was great also. I loved this place. ,

This one is a surprise for both Stormy and I. We were steered (pun intended) to this beef emporium by Stormy's aunt who likes to come here for lunch with her clutch of buddies. We've been here a couple of times now and the food is actually pretty good. It's home-style and delicious. The beef cuts have actually been cooked quite to my liking which is often quite hard as most kitchens don't believe me when I say I want rare meat. Check it out! I think this place is on track to get five stars from me.

Bummer!!! Not a good experience at all !! Salad was forgotten, came after steak, got extra charges placed on bill for cheese, bacon - loading salad and or potatoes - and jasper, our server, never told us these were extras- Steamed carrots tasted like dishwater, roadkill ( think it was roadkill) steak worse than a McDonald's hamburger - first time here & will not be back to this Texas Roadhouse or any other- stay away!!

Food was fantastic! I had the boneless buffalo wings and my son the pulled pork sandwich. There is no need to sit at a table, however. Just sit in close proximity to the bar, as Bobby will take care of you! The service was great! Good job Bobby!

This place is packed every night and I just don't get why...is it the free peanuts or the bread. Honestly, those are the only good things there. I've been there twice in the past 2 weeks because I was given a gift card and didn't want to waste it. My first experience I tried a full rack of the ribs. They came out so over cooked and chewy I sent them back and just shared my girlfriends prime rib. The ribs I smoke at home are way better and I'm a beginner smoker. The prime rib was pretty good, i'll admit that. We went again last night with friends and everything we ordered was super salty...certain items were unedible due to the extreme amount of salt used. Fried Pickle Chips...too salty to eat. Mushrooms for the steak...too salty to eat. Shrimp on top of the steak...overly salty. The steak seasoning...overly salty. Even the grilled chicken breast was too salty. We were just hungry and didn't feel like complaining again about crappy food. We filled up on bread, salad and peanuts and got the f out of there. At least it was a gift card and not my own money. I will say that the service is good, but the food is terrible. I gave the place 2 chances and that's enough for me...never going back unless someone gives me another gift card. Please no more gift cards...

I'm on the fence here. I used to LOOOVE it here. Then there was a period where everything was super salty!! This last time was pretty good though. I usually get the fillet medallions over rice and topped with the sautéed mushrooms. My sides are always different but my favorites: chili, house salad, fries, sweet potato, loaded mash. Service is spotty. Sometimes it's ridiculously pleasant and other times severely lacking. I used to be a server so I feel I judge fairly on this hahaha. My biggest concern is that it's inconsistent. On a good day it'll be a 4 star place though.

Salty and expensive. That's my first impression. I'm pretty sure I ate a day's worth of sodium in one sitting here. Ordered the country fried steak and it was alright. The bread was good though and I didn't mind that at all. Service was friendly. I may or may not come back. Probably not.

My business was turned away because I wanted to order rolls to-go. Management informed me that they were short on supply and couldn't sell me any. They instead preferred to give them away for free to their other paying customers... Thanks again Texas Roadhouse.

When I got there at 5:39, i was told it would take 25 minutes. At 6:04 i moved from the waiting area to where the waiters stand when taking customers to their tables, just so they would not forget me. Finally at 6:25 the waitress that took my order noticed me standing there, and called me over and asked me "they didn't call your name?" and i said no. she pulls the bag up from behind the counter and says "it hasn't been sitting *too* long", and opened the boxes to show me. it looked like the fries had indeed been sitting "too long" but i didn't taste them right there at the carryout station. When i got home, they were wet, and mealy with a leathery feel to them... you know how old fries taste and feel. I'm certain they forgot about me. It was a waste of $49.12.

(Funny there's a reviewer from today whose name is also Mariah!) My boyfriend and I were headed up to Tahoe this past Saturday and it was time for dinner, so we were keeping our eyes peeled for something quick and right off the freeway. When we spotted Texas Roadhouse (literally alongside the freeway), we made a beeline for it and I'm so glad we did! When we got inside it was PACKED and, the wait for a table was 45 mins to an hour (it was prime time on a Saturday night after all). The bar was open seating and there was plenty of space, so we grabbed two seats. The bartender was super helpful and friendly. Even though the bar was packed, we never had to wait more than a few seconds to grab his attention. The bar had baseball games and college football on, so we settled in with a few iced teas (we were driving so no adult beverages for us). While we perused the menu we munched on warm, soft rolls with a delicious whipped butter (had a hint of cinnamon, yum!). I decided on the grilled lemon butter shrimp served on a bed of seasoned rice, with steamed veggies and mashed potatoes /gravy. Boyfriend had the steak kabobs (also on a bed of rice) with a baked potato. Both entrees were delicious! Surprisingly one of the best meals we've had lately! We got the bill and it was very inexpensive, and we were back on the road again! Easy peasy lemon squeezy. I wish there was one where we live (San Jose), we would be regular customers. For now we'll settle for hitting this place up on our frequent drives up to Lake Tahoe.

Nothing less than good. Started out getting their delicious rolls with sweet butter, which I always tend to ask for more. I got the cactus blossom appetizer which was a giant fried onion with this tasty orange sauce. For entree, I had the 6oz medium-rare steak with 2 sides that included a caesar salad and seasoned rice. All the food tasted amazing, The server we had was very attentive also, as she checked up on us pretty frequently. Parking can be a bit of a pain because they get so busy that they sometimes just run out of parking spots, resulting in having to either wait or park elsewhere.

Ya'll should SERIOUSLY come on down! I finally made it out to Texas Roadhouse the other night with my Husband and a dear Uncle from out of town. I want to thank Yelp especially for the advice about the Call-Ahead Seating; great idea! We walked in at the perfect time, because it was the point in the evening where all of the servers were dancing to Cotton-Eye'd Joe! I was immediately impressed with this place! I was raised by Southern parents and this place TOTALLY captures the South! Think: bags of peanuts you can eat and toss the shells on the floor, great country hits playing in the background, tall ice-cold mugs of brew, GREAT steaks and fall-off-the-bone ribs, and a laid-back, log-cabin type decor. I ordered the Bacon Cheeseburger with a side of BBQ sauce and enjoyed the HELL right outta that bad boy. My husband ordered the Porter Steak which he ate ALL of. I was able to snag a bite before it was devoured, and it was a perfect blend of well-done meets tender and juicy. My uncle ordered the pulled pork and the fall-off-the-bones ribs combo plate which he ALSO ate practically all of. I truly can't wait to go back! I REALLY enjoyed myself, and so did everyone I was with. The ONLY reason I didn't give this place 5 stars, is because some of the hostesses and servers seemed a bit. . . despondent. Which, I can understand how the same music and antics each night can get old. . . but it's not about them, you know? I could have used some more smiles I guess. . . Anyway, like I said, I can't wait to go back!

I went here because I wanted a good steak and my family raved about it. Luckily for me I checked online and called ahead of time to try to place my name on the waitlist. By the time I arrived they called my name (score no wait time) and I was promply seated. The rolls here are delicious, fresh baksed and right out of the oven and the butter cinnamon spread with it is also pretty good. My family and I shared the cactus blossom and it was kind of a disappointment. I havent had a cactus blossom in years but I dont remember it being this greasy, at the end there was a pool of oil on the bottom of the plate and I wish it came with more dipping sauce, either way its a nice to try it every one in a while as long as it doesnt become a daily routine. I ended up sharing the bone in rib eye steak with my sister and it was cooked to perfection. It was also the perfect amount because the meal came with 2 sides so we were both able to have a salad each and our steak. The place was packed when we got there but service was pretty fast and we will stuffed and on our way home within an hour or so.

Great food but the service is just really slow here. Waited 1 hour for our food! Great atmosphere. There is a nice bar to drink at. Call ahead seating is available. Anything beef here is delicious! Try to avoid Thursday nights gets packed and parking is limited. Similar to Outback Steakhouse menu.

When I go to Texas Roadhouse, I only go there for one thing-- prime rib! I've been to Texas Roadhouse plenty of times to know that you shouldn't get suckered into ordering anything else but the prime rib. Most of the time though, they are out (usually after 8PM) so I will settle for the rib-eye. The prime rib is so soft and juicy, you can cut into the meat with your fork. It come with a side of the natural drippings from the prime rib and I absolutely love dipping the tender prime rib into this juice. The rib-eye is also good here, I like my rare and 8 times out of 10, they cook it just the way I like it. The cuts are thick and soft. The outside comes seasoned and charbroiled and the inside is juicy and tender. I usually get the loaded mash potatoes and a Caesar salad with all my orders. I hold the salad until my entree comes and it use it as a palette cleanser since eating that much meat can be a bit over whelming. I highly recommend this restaurant if your looking to eat some supple and tasty prime rib. Happy eating!

We went there for dinner hoping to watch the Oakland Raiders first pre-season game. Mentioned this to our server who apparently made the request to whoever the channel changer person is and guess what? They were using Dish satellite TV and said the game wasn't available. We ate quickly and went home and watched it on our Dish TV channel 58, MyTv. Thanks guys! I guess they wanted to turn the tables as quickly as possible. We'll remember that from now on when we want to watch a local game. And no county music playing either, no peanut shells on the floor - what's up with that? Never mind, we really don't want to know.

Truly a five star experience on both my visits to this comfort food style steakhouse. Having a chance to sample the ribs, pork chops, two chicken entrees, and one of the steak entrees, I have to rate them all at excellent plus. The ribs were probably the best ribs I have ever tasted, tender to the point of falling off of the bone, and not a bit of fat. The pork chops were the real surprise. Huge, tender, and again fat free. The pork chop plate comes with two huge pork chops, way too much for the average person to finish in one sitting. The house salads that comes with meals in many restaurants seem more like an afterthought, bland and simple, but the Texas Roadhouse salad is exceptionally good, and almost filling enough for a meal in itself. The best deal at this steak house, and probably one of the best dining bargains in the valley, is the early-bird dinners, available to order until 6 PM, at $8.95. There are 8 different main entrees on the early-bird menu to choose from, and all come with two sides of your choice and unlimited fresh rolls. It's a big meal, and unlike so many early bird options, the portions are the same as any other menu item. Many of the entrees reminded me of what Claim Jumper use to be like years ago. Huge portions, reasonably priced, and quality food. You can pick out your own steak, if steak is your thing for dinner. Several choices of side dishes to choose from with every meal, and the service, even though quite busy, was spot on and perfect on every visit I have made to this Elk Grove location. Drink glasses were kept full, empty plates were quickly removed from the table, and the servers had a very professional and cheery attitude. While I don't believe they accept reservations, they do allow you to call in about 30 minutes before arrival and they will put your name on a arrival list. The last two times we took advantage of this feature and waited less than 5 minutes on both weekend visits when the restaurant was busy. Chicken entrees, like all of the other main entrees, were really well prepared, and again huge portions were served. There are definitely a few healthy choices on the menu, but it's so hard to choose from these healthier meals when such great steak, ribs, and chops are available. If you haven't been to a Texas Roadhouse, you owe it to yourself to make the trip to Elk Grove to sample one of the best Texas style BBQ restaurants in the area. The cost won't hurt the wallet, and you will likely bring enough food home for another meal. I'm always looking for healthy dining alternatives, but Texas Roadhouse has to be the occasional exception where you don't count calories and just enjoy the food. If you make it through the dinner, the desserts are just as fantastic as the main meal.

I think tonight was my last visit here. I have been coming here and bringing friends for the last 3 years and have received pretty good service but today was one of the worst experiences that I have had. Our server " Jasper " not only forget my margarita but also added bacon when I specifically asked for no bacon bits and also added a order of blue cheese. Had to literary ask him for paper napkins and more bread as he would not refill if you did not remind him. His name should be Casper instead of Jasper because he would just disappear and you could not find him when you needed something.

One of my favorite restaurants in northern ca! I am a huge steak eater, and Texas Roadhouse never fails to satisfy my steak cravings! There is definitely a difference in taste when it comes to types of steaks. I could never tell the difference until I realized what made the difference--the bone in! My absolutely favorite steak (ever since my first visit at Texas Roadhouse) is the bone in ribeye. Once you've eaten it, you refuse to try an alternative cut. It's their most flavorful steak and truly worth it! Being that I never finish it in one setting (portion control is important!), I usually get it cooked medium rare. This is primarily due to the fact that I plan on heating it up at another time, thus changing it to medium, if not medium well (boo!) Another plus is that you get to choose your bone in ribeye! A display is available for you to choose a specific type you want. Although I love choosing which ribeye I want, I sometimes like to be surprised as well. And let's be honest, it's not like I know what I'm looking for when I'm choosing a piece of raw meat anyways ;) As with most restaurants...there is bread! And here, it's to die for! My roomies and I love it! It's soooooooo delicious! And because they're always so busy, I feel like they are constantly making them...so for the most part, you'll get a fresh, hot batch! And trust me, it'll melt in your mouth! Since I'm always taking my leftovers home, I also request for some bread as well! And unlike other restaurants, where the server will dawg you for asking such a silly question (while calling you a cheapass), at Texas Roadhouse, they'll agree with a smile! It doesn't get any better than that! Man, I love their culture! For the most part, their sides are good! Can't go wrong with the fries! Ultimately delicious! I also get their vegetables! I'm very health conscious, so I try to pair my entrées with some greens. Overall, this is the place to go for delicious and affordable steak! I always enjoy coming here with friends! The environment is great to just sit back and wind down (after a long day, of course!) margaritas are pretty good also! Nice pairing with the steak!

Pro: cinnamon butter and rolls that a free , also you can help yourself to buckets of peanuts to snack on. There is not a thing on this menu I'm not in love with. My favorite place for ribs because they just fall off the bone! Cons: The Texas Roadhouse steak sauce tastes like cardboard. Don't even sample it's. Let me save your mouth the horror. They do have a1 you can ask for though. And ..... They do NOT get nfl Sunday ticket. ( we called ahead and they said they did, so we drove across town and ordered.....to find out that don't have it!! The staff was SUPER friendly about their mistake though. A bartender even came over with his phone so we could watch the game we wanted )

Best service, food and price. Megan our server was the best service we had yet. She made us feel so comfortable and had fun with the kids. I hope others that read this get her helping them and tip her big. I'm on a diet and had the steak salad that was awesome and filling. The kids loved their steak and the smothered chicken for the wife. You won't be dissapointed Enjoy!

No need to actually go to Texas when you can just come here. Food: Let's be perfectly honest; the food is nothing to write home about. You do, however, get a truckload of it. Regardless of what you order, the meal starts off with a bag of salty peanuts ( yelp.com/biz_photos/texa… ) that you can shell and wantonly discard on the floor, thus cathartically releasing decades of a repressed desire to pollute in California. You'll also get a bottomless basket of bread ( yelp.com/biz_photos/texa… ) with cinnamon butter ( yelp.com/biz_photos/texa… ). I'm not sure if Lucille's BBQ did their apple butter and biscuits first or if Texas Roadhouse was the pioneer, but I prefer Lucille's version. The bread isn't half bad, but it looks and tastes like something you'd get in the mass produced bread aisle of any supermarket. I ordered the chicken critters with fries ( yelp.com/biz_photos/texa… ) along with veggies ( yelp.com/biz_photos/texa… ) and applesauce ( yelp.com/biz_photos/texa… ) as sides. Let me pause here and collect my thoughts before I describe the sides. They were bad. There is no other way to say this. Look at the carrots and broccoli. Clearly, this came from whoever is wholesale supplying the freezer aisle of Safeway. The applesauce? Mott's. It seems as if there was no added preparation after opening these items either. The veggies are clearly steamed, but there is no extra flavor added save (maybe) some butter. I think the applesauce must've come straight from a jar. Now, I've said a lot of negative things about Texas Roadhouse, so why four stars? Vegetarians, plug your ears. The meat is decently prepared and you get enough to feed an entire family for a week in one entree. My boo got the pulled pork with a sweet potato side and some bread ( yelp.com/biz_photos/texa… ). Yumtastic meat drowning in sauce and sweet potato for miles. As for my crunchy chicken fingers, I think I got through two and had to take the rest home. Atmosphere: This place is in the burbs and it shows. There's nothing around the restaurant except a huge parking lot, which somehow is still not enough to accommodate the insane amount of traffic coming in and out of this joint. Don't be surprised if you see mostly trucks and SUVs vying for a coveted spot. The interior is jam packed with people grasping for a seat. Service: It may take close to two hours to get a table, but they treat you right once you're officially a customer. The waiters are around pretty frequently and make sure you have whatever you need, whether it's a refill on your drink or more bread. They also do a crazy song and dance for birthdays. Synopsis: I've never visited the Lone Star State, but I have a feeling that this place accurately embodies every Texas stereotype. Unless you want a massive amount of leftovers, make sure you split an entree. If you're a vegetarian, you might burst into flames if you even walk through the doors. Roughage other than potatoes are an afterthought here.

My boyfriend and I love coming here when we crave steak. Good thing its nearby! The wait can be a little overwhelming if you're with a big crowd. This place is always busy so be prepared to wait. They have the best bread ever! And you must have it with the spread it comes with. Delicious. Their steaks are always mouthwatering and made how I like it! Medium well please! I always get their stuffed potatoes too. Yum. The service has always been very welcoming and respectful. Our waiter/waitress always makes sure we are taken care of. Not to mention, I accidentally left my phone here too and it was immediately brought to their manager in a very safe place the moment it was found. Always coming back. I can't wait until the next time already.

I've been to multiple Texas Roadhouse locations, and I'm never disappointed with my food. You can never go wrong with the steak here, which is why it's probably always busy. We had trouble finding parking because the lot was jam packed. But hey, we made reservations, so we should be seated quickly... or so we thought. We waited quite awhile despite the reservations, which puts me in a cranky mood if I'm hungry. But what made up for that was the amazing service we received from our waiter, Russ!! It was easily the best service I've received my entire life. He was extremely friendly, prompt, and accommodating. So an enormous THANK YOU goes to Russ!!

I have to admit, I had high expectations. I had friends tell me it was a great place. Anyways, I took my family there one early Saturday evening. We waited about an hour to get a table. It was busy. The one main issue I had was that they ran out of ribs. I usually get a full rack of ribs when I go to a steak place, but was disappointed when they didn't have any. I decided to get a steak instead. They overcooked it. Wasn't too happy about having to spend that much money on an overcooked steak and no ribs. Will not go back.

The food here was good,at first I thought I was not served fries, but my friend ambushed the order from me. The atmosphere is cool, the staff is friendly, the alcohol selection and prices are good, and i liked the portion sizes. The one thing that keeps me from giving this experience 5 stars is the lack of floor maintenance. For some reason there is things laying all over the floor, which i get from the wood chips, bit there is trash mixed in with the chips.

Love their food and best customer service around. They are so polite and are sure to welcome and thank you for coming. I have eaten there multiple times and can't say I have ever had a bad meal. I would definitely recommend them if your hungry for great food and service.

To think that your reservation was only to wait longer upon arriving to the time given you. This place is very busy, its crowded, and it is very loud. The hostess had a bit of an attitude but im sure they were really busy so i can forgive that. The food will take a long to time order and then even longer to to recieve. The food itself while tasty, it isnt worth the price whatsoever, but we all know wveryone goes there for the rolls anyways. The service is short and abrupt, if you have questions, then they will have attitudes. If i can help it, i would come back only when its not so busy.

I had an epic meal today. Normally, this place is crowded, loud and the service is horrible. And what I mean by horrible is the servers are not attentive, they are forgetful and they look like they don't want to be there. It seemed like the management and staff didn't care about the service or their customers so I never wanted to come back. However, after ringing in the new year last night the bf and I decided to start off the new year with some ribs and steak. We came here at around 1pm was greeted and seated right away. Our server was Taylor she was the best server I'd ever had at this location. She was on top of everything. Another person brought or food out, but Taylor was right behind him and noticed I hardly had any fries on my plate so she went back to get me more (without me asking) and I want going to either but just the fact that she noticed it and took the initiative to do it showed me she cared and made the errort to provide the best service she could. Overall, the foods came quickly and the service was wonderful with Taylor. I was really pleased with my visit this time so pleased that I called her manager to tell him she's doing a great job. And by great job she wasn't trying to do small talk or compliment us or anything she was just doing her job, but better than anyone else I had at roadhouse and even anywhere else. She paid attention to the details and she was on top of everything. When I come back in asking for Taylor and you should too :)

Great atmosphere with delicious warm bread. You can't beat their price. All entrees come with two generous portion sides. Everything is quite tasty. The only complain is the long long wait even with call ahead seating.

The delicious food is the only thing that kept me from walking out. Marissa was the worst server I have encountered in the last 12 months: it was relatively slow in the restaurant and she had a bad attitude, was inattentive, and spent the majority of her time talking with other servers while our drink sat empty (for up to 20 minutes at a time). If I ever go back, I'll make sure to get seated somewhere far away from Marissa... Take-out may be the way to go.

Crunchy, peanut shelled floor? Check. Delicious bread aroma? Check. Pant-stuffin', food coma-inducing foor? Check The wait here can be pretty crazy. We came here with a large party, about 10 aduts, 2 kids. And we waited almost an hour to get a table. However, the do provide peanuts to help you tide over while you're waiting to be seated. THEIR ROLLS. OMG. Heaven in a basket. And that cinnamon butter...to die for. Our table shared the Blossom. Which is a large, segmented, deep-fried onion which a delicious dipping sauce. I order the BBQ-roast chicken with a side salad and loaded mashed potatoes. The chicken was juicy but I really wish I had asked for the sauce on the side. I'm not a HUGE BBQ sauce fan. I really do just prefer a dry rub and the skin would've been much more delicious had it not been drenched in sauce.

I usually don't like going to restaurant chains but this place is pretty gangster. I could give 4 stars on the dinner rolls alone. I've been here a few times and every time the food has been fresh and tasty; good sized portions too. They make a mean loaded sweet potatoe. My only advice would be to not slip on peanut shells :D

This review is almost fully for their prime rib. I've been here 3 times, and 2/3 times I was very satisfied. So, you walk in and you notice it's a very casual restaurant where the hostess takes you to your table and hands you a bucket full of peanuts. People just throw the shells on the grounds, because for some reason, it's okay here. Maybe that's how they do it in Texas? I'm not really sure, but maybe someday I'll find out! My first time here, I got the prime rib and shared some of the "fall of the bone ribs." I was thoroughly disappointed that my ribs did just the opposite. It was a little dry and not tender like advertised. It might have just been the batch we ordered, but regardless, I will probably never order the ribs again. The prime rib really is delicious though. My piece was fatty enough, pretty tender, and came with au jus (LOVE!). For the price of about $20 including tax & tip, it's not a bad deal at all. Plus it comes with two sides! One other time I came here and got some pork dish because they were out of prime rib and it was dry and not satisfy at all, but again, this is mostly just a review for the prime rib. I would say Texas Roadhouse amongst its level (between Outback and Black Angus) is definitely my favorite.

Hubby and I had dinner here at Texas Roadhouse over the weekend since we are both meat lovers and left happy & full like always. He had their T-bone steak and I had the ribs & steak combo. Everything was cooked just as ordered and we had plenty of leftovers to take home. Their bread and cinnamon butter is a great plus, it always comes out pipiing hot and soft in the middle, a great way to start off your meal. The wait staff are always nice and attentive and I loved the fact that even with the place packed we could still feel the A/C to help cool everyone off from the 106 degree weather outside.

This is the best place to have a party with friends. They have a-m-a-z-i-n-g!! food, the service is great, the bar is fun, and it's super cool. This place give you the best experience if you go at the right time. If you go during dinner hour or when everyone's coming home from work you're gonna hate it. Then the waits long and boring and you just start complaining and whining. So plan it out and make reservations people do those for a reason.

Great place for some decent steak! I got here in time for the special that ends around 5/6pm where you can order a whole set for 14 bucks. My sisters and I all had the Rib Eye steaks cooked Medium/medium rare with various sides like Chili, salad, baked potato, fries. We left extremely full and satisfied. My favorite thing about this place is the free bread rolls! It's amazingly delicious soft, buttery, sweet, and hinted with cinnamon. As if the bread wasn't enough, they serve complimentary peanuts waiting for you on the table, with a pail! I really have to give it up to the service. The servers are great! Although we didn't have a hostess at the front, a server who was just starting her shift immediately took care of us finding it unacceptable no hostess was available. They were fast with the delivery and frequently checked up on us to make sure everything was going well. My waitress was really hot and had a great smile which made the experience that much better ;). Anyway, only thing bad I could say about this place was that my steak was a bit salty. Unfortunately I'm back in DC so I can't visit this place as often as I'd like. But this will definitely be within my radar while I'm in Sac.

We went to Texas Roadhouse on Friday night, and now, 3 nights later, I am STILL talking about those amazing steaks. They were excellent - perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned, absolutely mouth watering even now in memory. There was a short wait for a table, but there is an adequate waiting area with all the peanuts you can eat. It's one of those peanut shells on the floor kinds of joints, which is charming to me. Nevertheless, I must warn you not to fill up on peanuts because the fresh rolls are amazing, especially with the cinnamon butter. In fact, in a pinch, I could make a meal on the butter alone. It is THAT good. The service was good. Our waiter was very candid and let us know that the t-bone is the only steak they do not cut in house, which was nice to know since that is what my boyfriend had planned to order. Instead, we both ordered what we would come to know as the best rib-eye steaks ever. The booths are elevated, so even in a crowded restaurant, you feel like you have your own space. The lighting is good, bright enough to read the menu but not obnoxiously fluorescent. The general "vibe" of the place is upbeat with an expectedly country flair. It is the TEXAS roadhouse, after all. During particular songs, the wait staff does a choreographed line dance. It was a little cheesy, like Coyote Ugly but not slutty, but if you can just resolve yourself to appreciate the theme, you should have fun there. This place just misses that 5th star because: a.) It's a chain restaurant that kinda feels like a chain. b.) When they call "Smith (or whoever) party of two," they follow it with, "Saddle up!" It was funny the first time, but if you're waiting for a table for 15-20 minutes, you hear it too many times to be funny or charming. All in all though, I would come back here any time I had a hankerin' (a very appropriate word for this joint) for a good steak. I may never see the inside of an Outback again.

My bf took me and our daughter out to eat here last night...we are frequently on the 99 and always talk about going here, its attractive from the highway. We were seated immediately, everyone was super nice. Bread was on the table as soon as we were, delicious....i didn't care for the sweet butter, just not my taste. Took a while to decide what we were gonna order, we're not often steak eaters so we took the time to think about it haha. He ordered 11 oz sirloin well done, I ordered 10 oz prime rib medium well, end cut...both of us with loaded baked potato and house salad. Within minutes our salad was there and it was a good salad, better than most side salads. Our food was out about 10 minutes later, pretty fast for cooking steak. His was perfect. Mine was still moo-Ing. I called the waitress over who remembered I ordered medium well, saw it bleeding and took it back. Got it back a few minutes later...still bleeding, so I sent it back again. Ditto. She requested maybe I get not an end cut so I got back another piece and it was cooked, yay. Its hard to ruin the taste of prime rib, so of course it was tasty. By the time I got the steak I was kind of just ready to go, we had been there for a while now...our daughter is only 8 months so we try to eat fast. Potato was good, that's what I ate while I waited for the meat. Manager came over, nice, excuse for the meat being rare...blah blah I asked him for a box and we paid and left. Food was good, service good, hard to give any lower stars of an honest review.

Had the ribeye (mr) to see if it's any better than the ribeye at Outback Steakhouse.... Outback takes the cake! Ribeye was good though!

This place reminds me of an Outback Steakhouse, but American. It's actually not that bad. I had a ribeye for $20. Sadly it wasn't bone-in and its a really thin cut. It's flavorful, but a little too salty. Cooked well. The fat doesn't marble within the meat, but it's just chunks on the side (if you know what I mean). This place does well with the quality of meat it has. The chili is pretty good. The house salad is great, large portion and also has eggs! It's a pretty decent place if you don't want to spend $$$ for steak but don't want Denny's either.

HECK YEAH. I'm totally a MEAT and TATERS kinda guy and this is totally my kinda place. Thanks to my folks for taking me out here after a long week... I needed it! Some have complained that it's loud. Yeah... it's GOOD loud. If you want quiet than EAT SOMEPLACE ELSE... maybe Black Angus. I love the peanut mess everywhere, love the freshly baked bread (that you can watch them prepare). Love the busy atmosphere. I grew up eating at all the steakhouses, Pinnacle Peak, Black Angus, Cattleman's, Logan's, etc... and this one thus far is the best. I ordered the ribs (LITERALLY - FALL OFF THE BONE - YUM) and chicken combo and it was a total party for my tastebuds. Nice cold beer to wash it down... think I was in MEAT HEAVEN. :) I'll be back.

Excellent place to get Prime Rib in town without spending a fortune. Their customer service has improved quite well within the last few years of going and the wait time for tables is reasonable. When this place first opened, wait times for tables would average 1-2 hours on the weekends. Now it is down to less than 30 minutes which makes it much more bearable to come often.

We first found out about this chain by accident in Union City thinking it was an Outback Steakhouse. Our accident turned into a smash that left Outback for Caltrans to clean up the waste. Without a doubt, this is my favorite steakhouse. The rib-eye is outstanding and my wife loves the chicken dish. (I know, chicken at a steakhouse!) We've even had the burger before and that was incredible. The rolls served prior to your meal are the best. My girl once said she'd eat 100 rolls for dinner. :) The atmosphere is fun and loud. don't be afraid to bring your noisy kids. :) If you're lucky, you'll be able to see the waiters and waitresses perform a little line dance for you while you enjoy your awesome meal. Oh ya, if you grab a large steak, walk up to the front and pick it yourself! A favorite thing for our family to do (I split my huge rib-eye with the kids.) Stop by, eat the peanuts in the waiting room, and saddle up!

Granted, it's not fine dining (Which would be the only place better to get steak)... It's the first steak I have had that was cooked to perfection that didn't need A-1 sauce. A salad with ranch, veggies or a loaded potato, and a filet... Makes my day! Yummy! They have a full bar, and you throw your peanut shells on the floor adding to the country feel. Downside: The bar area is not self-seating (like a lot of other rest. in the area) you have to be sat there.

Pick your own rib eye and they cook it to perfection. Hell, you can have it four inches thick if you want. Consistently great meat and always cooked perfect. This is my go to steak place when I'm not doing them myself. My wife loves the medallions on rice.

I LOVE Texas Roadhouse in Union City. Unfortunately, I found out the hard way that this specific joint in Elk Grove fell WAY BELOW the Texas Roadhouse standard. -Came with a party of 8 on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. They gave us two booths to sit 4 and 4...no wait...no problem there. -Our server (...name was Hummer on the receipt) didn't look very happy right from the get-go. I thought she got friendlier as the day went on...so maybe she was just having a bad start to her day. -FOOD fell way short! Compared to the ribs I had in Union City, the ribs here were CHARRED, DRY, HARD, FLAVORLESS....basically a real pain to chew. When I had it last time, it was moist, juicy, and fell off the bone...absolutely perfect. -I chose a baked potato as one of my sides and got charged EXTRA for having cheese and bacon bits on it! The server didn't mention it...nor did it say that on the menu. Usually, when you offer someone something...you tell them what the extra charge is if there is one. Overall, aside from the pretty blond working up front and the always amazing bread with cinnamon butter...this restaurant made Helen V. and I look like a fool in front of all of our friends. We hyped it up...only to be extremely disappointed.

OK, We have celebrated 2 birthdays here in the last 2 months and I am looking forward to the next birthday. Starting with the peanuts and bread (with the cinnamon butter - yummy) all the way to the main course, all of the food was fantastic. My wife ordered the steak and shrimp - she loved it. I ordered the slab of ribs, two days later I am still full and I loved it. Kids loved the steak and ribs and my grown son loved the Ribs and Steak....We were out the door for $100 for 5 people and that isn't bad. Not only did we love all the food, we were very pleased with our attentive (but not intrusive) waiter. We will be back and I hope it is good as the last two visits.

Came here knowing prices will be semi high, but found the early dine menu options. I know most people will not make it in for dinner by 6 pm, but if you can your able to save $3 on some items. The food was good, I enjoyed the ribs and the BBQ chicken (wished they had thigh meat instead of drier breast meat). I noticed the sides are a bit on the small side, except the salads. The bread they give you was good, especially with the cinnamon butter. I will give this place another visit and give a follow up, I know so far they are a decent rib and chicken place. Now its a matter of trying the steaks!

I'm giving a whole star to be generous. The restaraunt only had a few people in when we came in at 4:30 and it still took us ten minutes to get sat. No one greeted us as we came in because no one was at their host stand. When we were finally seated we noticed our booth wasn't even clean. Their was trash under our table and I'm not talking about the peanuts. There was also BBQ sauce still left on the table from the people before us. Our server was kaelynn and although she was nice. When we asked her about certain items, she made it clear that she did not know the menu. Which was okay until our food was brought out ten minutes apart and our prime rib was room temperature! It was okay but they seemed like a complete disaster and like most of the staff had no clue what they were doing.

The bread was GOOD!!! I honestly would like to go back there... just for the bread! (: it was fresh out the over, warm and the cinnamon butter just made it even better. They give you peanuts that you can just throw on the floor, but I didnt get to because our table was in a awkward position.. I'd really have to try hard to toss it on the floor.. hahas anyways I was sooo excited to come here after I read the reviews.. but I was actually quiet disappointed. Everyone was talking about how "large" the portions were... they were DEFINITELY not large.. when I think large.. I think that I'll be able to eat at the restaurant.. and have some left over. I ordered Salmon, which cost me around $14.99? It came with two sides, so I chose "fully loaded mashed potatoes" and string beans. The salmon was.. simply salmon.. nothing special. The mashed potatoes were good, it had cheese and bacon + sour cream. but the string beans were DISGUSTING!!!!! straight from the can, soggy as can be, with a pound of salt. thats the only way I can describe them. ( they was worse then... what you get at fast food chains or so.. like i couldn't believe they served that ) ... Daniel ordered rib eye steak which was around $25... he said he had better..nothing special. bottom line i only remember the bread... i dont think i'll go back

The food was ok three of us had steaks and they all agree that they were salty, would have said something to the waitress Megan but she was rather abrupt with us and really didnt want to deal with her, spoke down to our guests, not sure if she is used to bullying older people or what, she was very loud and abrupt, didn't check back often which was a blessing. If we do go back we will make sure to ask for a different server.

It may be loud, it may be a little low brow but it sure is a good time. Was visiting some relatives in the area and we all ended up going here for dinner. The sign is gaudy, the place is packed, the wait is long but for some reason I didn't mind at all. Though the peanuts helped I didn't bother much with them as the smell of bbq gave me something to wait for. The rolls and apple cinnamon butter was fantastic. The appetizer sampler (chicken fingers, stuffed jalapeos and potato skins) were decent. I had the rib-eye and ribs and it was pretty good, steak was tender and the ribs were fall off the bone tender, but a little dry so I had to ask for a side of sauce. Nonetheless, overall the food was above average and I would give this place a 3.5 stars just on the food. But the service is what jumped the score to a round 4 stars, super nice, super friendly and super accommodating. Figures you'd have a good steak house in cow town haha.

I love steak. I love Texas Roadhouse. I love the ridiculously large order of cheese fries covered in bacon on the appetizer menu. I love hot rolls covered in cinnamon butter. Yes its loud. Yes its a chain. Yes the food here is damn good. Remember its a steak house... get steak.... Be prepared to wait for a seat.

So.... They messed up my order BUT before I really noticed, they came out, fessed up AND comp'd my entire meal. This is a great restaurant. Not only great food but top notch customer service on top of that. PS the 20oz steak was worth the wait!!

Eh.... this place is okay. I wouldn't prefer this place but I went here with my friends. One of them loved this place, i don't. I do find the shells on the floor funny and nasty at the same time. I like throwing the peanuts at my friends and playing peanut fight (Flicking them at each other).. or was that me. The food is okay. I felt like what you eat is like just a lot of sauce... The ribs were okay. The T-bone steak was okay. Everything was just okay. I wouldn't come here more often. Pros: Interesting floor full of shells Free Bread Decor Cons: Food is okay. Wait Times... 3.25 Stars... 3

Dave really likes this spot! Favorite steak house in Sacramento. Go check it out if you haven't. Huge barrels of peanuts while you wait for a table. Staff on the weekend line dance throughout the night - best show in town. Excellent and never ending supply of homemade rolls. Fat steaks. A butcher display of steaks with a huge assortment of types and styles of steaks. Best steak value in California. You're gonna have to wait for a table, especially later in the evening. They also have good southern cooking like catfish. The is a great representation of Texas style cooking. You get a really good steak for $18. There is no guarentee for groups of 6 or more until after 9 p.m.

Union city is a little bit better. The grill is dirty leaving the steaks with too much black grill marks. If you like the "black crusty" flavor then this location is best. Meat quality is the same though.

Wow really 4 stars for this place? Coming from the Bay Area, the BF and I needed somewhere to take his mom for her birthday and since we've never had a chance to try this place out since it's always so crowded beforehand we decided to make reservations prior and head over for her birthday meal. Walking into this place you see people with cowboy hats on and crowds everywhere. Since we made a reservation, we're like ok, shouldn't be too long before we're seated. WRONG! We waited an HOUR to get seated even WITH a reservation..WTF do I make reservations for then? -1 star Next, when we finally were seated, our party of 9 were seated in 2 SEPARATE tables. Having not seen his family for a while, this was really annoying because we couldn't even talk to each other without having to get up and go over to the next table...EPIC fail! Who does that? Why in the world would you seat a large party in 2 separate tables when there was clearly a booth and table you could have combined a couple of feet away (which of course we were never offered)...-1 star In terms of food I ordered the 10 oz ribeye with the sweet potato and the chili on the side. Beef was ordered medium, it came out well. I tried some of my friend's chicken and that too was overcooked, can they cook anything right here?...-1 star Also, I tried some of the ribs my bf had and the bbq sauce was not that great and they were totally salty!...-1 star Overall the only saving grace of this place was the yummy bread with the delicious cinnamon butter. BOO BOO BOO for the long wait, the overcooked food and the retarded hostesses for seating a party that came together, for a BIRTHDAY DINNER nonetheless, at completely separate tables. So NOT worth the wait, I'd go to Black Angus anyday over this place!

When I was told this is where I was going for dinner last night, I wasn't excited. I've been here before and never had a bad meal but the atmosphere leaves a lot to be desired and I wasn't in the mood for a heavy meal. Yeah, that all changed when I saw the pulled pork option on the menu. I ordered one of their Texas combos with BBQ chicken and pulled pork. Not bad for only $11.99! Well, what I was sent out was BBQ chicken and ribs. I don't dislike ribs but I was *really* wanting the pulled pork so I told our super friendly waitress about the error and she let us keep the ribs and brought out a large sized plate of the pulled pork. The BBQ chicken isn't bad but isn't great, either. I never have high expectations for it anyway. The pulled pork was scrumptious! It's even better when you stuff it in between one of their warm, buttery rolls! Speaking of rolls, I'm sure that meal wasn't exactly the healthiest option but it was well worth all the calories. The only bummer about this visit was we were charged for the chicken & ribs which was $16.99. We didn't make a stink considering we got to keep the ribs and we got a substantial amount of pulled pork to make up for the error.

I wouldn't call it an excellent steak, since the meat is not that soft or flavorful marinated but it's not bad of the deal for the price and size offer, plus the fresh baked bread is so yummy, rattlesnake bite not bad either. Overall, it's good enough to kill your sudden crave for steak but it isn't good enough to make you plan the next trip a week after or so.

I do love Texas Roadhouse looooong before their arrival to the Elk Grove area. I used to live in southern Indiana and that's where they originated from. I love their free rolls and cinnamon butter. The best!!! I almost get full from just those - forget about the main meal! LOL! So I pace myself. Usually order the appetizer portion of ribs. Quality of meat is not consistent - I know it's hard to ensure 100% but I find a lot of fat on sometimes the majority of my ribs, BUT other times they are spot on with little to no fat. Their BBQ sauce is on point. One of my favorites! Love their Dallas filet - OMG it is so damn good. My teen and I nicknamed it "marshmellow" because it is so easy to chew and marinated perfect. It's pricey so it's a treat every now and again. Their fries are good. Not digging their Caesar salad - dressing tastes more like straight mayo - BLECH. Their onion blossom is just so-so. Wouldn't order that again. Prefer Outback's. Mash potatoes are on point. Overall I like it here. Service is hit or miss like anywhere. Fun atmosphere.

5 stars for the bread and peanuts. Some reason everytime i go they never have prime rib. How can a steak house not have meat! Food is priced well for the portions. Very loud inside.

Wow! Terrible! Customer service is about as bad as it gets. Tried to come here with the family for dinner but couldnt do it despite calling and calling. We started calling 2 hours in advance for a party of 8 but were told it was too early to call. So we called back an hour later and were told they dont accept large parties for dinner. Then they changed their minds. Then we tried to get set up with the early call but they hung up on us. Finally we got the ok, and we showed up (after driving an hour) only to be told they would give us tables but we couldn't sit together. The manager was HORRIBLY unsympathetic and even downright rude. Unbelievable.

wayyyy too much food. While waiting for our table, my family and i ate some peanuts. as soon as we were seated, we ordered the cheese fries (huge portions) and the cactus blossom (double huge). They even served some warm bread with cinnamon butter. After we devoured that, our server gave us another serving of bread. By the time our food came, we were too full. I ordered the Cowboy Cooler drink. I swear it was tall as a 2 liter bottle of soda. My country fried chicken was tender and the batter was great. I tried both the brown and creamy gravy and both were pretty good. The seasoned rice was well-seasoned and the mashed potatoes seemed fresh. The pulled pork was so tender and tasty. Our server, Juanita, was really fun and friendly. She wasn't bothered at all when my sister complained that her medium rare steak came back well-done. She gladly replaced it. It's fun to throw your peanut shells on the ground...but can you just imagine little critters running around the floors late at night? Just a question to ponder.

It's aaa- okay! I usually go here with the family when we want steak and that's it. This is one of the few restaurants that has been sorta consistent with cooking my steak the way I wanted it, which is medium rare. I'm not saying it's the best around but it's not terrible. My mom has ordered chicken dishes in the past and they usually come out dry or over-seasoned. Oh! One thing I do love is that bread! I swear, one of these day's I'll just order myself a really nice drink and just eat the bread. Wait, no I wouldn't, I'd be deaf by the time I filled my tummy. This restaurant is ridiculously loud, I understand that it's a family style restaurant but it is really freakin' loud. I'd come back again bc can actually keep the food in and it's close by.

I always wanted to try this place and finally got to experience the hype first-hand this past weekend. We called in for a reservation, and although they didn't take it, the phone hostess was kind enough to suggest calling in 15 minutes before arrival to get on the call-in list. Although half of my total party arrived first (3 of 6), the young hostess sat us down to get us started with some drinks and their famous hot bread buns with cinnamon butter. I had eaten about 3 of them until I realized I should probably stop if I were to be successful against my 12 ounce prime rib. The waiter sold me quickly that for an additional $1.29 I could go with the 12 ouncer over the 10. The two sides I picked were the sweet potato and the Caesar salad. The prime rib itself was fantastic, medium rare was well executed with no dry spots, and hot pink all the way through. I got the raw horseradish for some extra kick. My only complaint was there were too many marshmallows on the side of sweet potato, and it took forever (~15 minutes) to get our checks, although a plus is the waiter offered to split the checks for us up front. The atmosphere was great, good-looking waitresses in sports jerseys of my favorite Bay Area baseball and football teams, and Sunday Night Football showing on flat-panel TVs throughout. For $18 prime rib dinner, you can't go wrong with Texas Roadhouse.

I celebrated my 25th birthday here. I had about 20 pple. They do not take reservations, but they have a call ahead seating and they were able to accommodate all of us. The staff were friendly and the place was loud and packed for a Wednesday night. The margaritas were delicious. The food was okay, they got confused with which table ordered what because we had so many people.

I've came here before and loved it, but this last experience wasn't so great. I had the ribeye steak since they were out of the prime rib. The waitress rarely paid us any attention and the food was mediocre. It tasted like food I could've gotten at Dennys. I'm very disappointmented in the service and food quality that has gone down.

Best ribs on the planet and one of my favorite places to eat for the past few years. I love the rolls, the cinnamon butter, the sides (green beans are amazing), and the sweet tea. This place is always packed and for good reason. I go there every chance I get :)

For a place known for it's ribs, what a joke. If you like decent BBQ sauce on dried out ribs, this place is for you. The service was okay, the atmosphere is fun and the free bread and butter are really good. But if you're a BBQ place, and my BBQ food is boring and dry, you might as well shut down. Harsh, I know, but a huge disappointment. I'm not the posh type who likes high end gourmet, but I know my BBQ and that was boring at best.

After being placed on hold 4 different times I was able to speak to the Manager who apologize for the inconvenience and assured me he would take care of our "wait time" when we arrived. It was a very busy Friday night and Manager Sergio did just as promised, our party of 8 was seated in a very prompt manner. It was the beginning of a pleasant dinner experience. The wait staff was friendly and prompt, meal was very good. We would definitely be back if for nothing else the wonderful experience of the Manager and wait staff!

Food: This place is good for steak. They get it right more times than not. If it isn't right, please, say something, and get a good steak. It's what they do. My personal favorite is the sirloin. Usually, I find a rib eye to be a better cut and grill, but not here. Skip the appetizers, they aren't impressive, adn they steal room that you need for the steak. Don't order salad, or chicken, a burger, or even ribs. Some people swear by the ribs, and sure, they may be good. But they aren't the steak. True, the bread and butter are awesome, the baked sweet potato with caramel honey cinnamon sauce and marshmallows is fabulous, and the chili is quite tasty. But remember, you're there for the steak. Atmosphere: Don't try to have an intimate dinner with your girlfriend, or a nice sit down meal with your grandparents. If that's where you're at, well, I believe Marie Callendars is just down the way, and they'd be happy to serve you pie. This place is for the loud, the fun, the drunk, the hungry and the exuberant. It also helps if you love country music, because they've got a free juke box up front that you can program your favorite songs into, and you'll hear them. Most likely, you'll hear 'Friends in Low Places' more than once. The waitresses line up to dance in the aisleways during some songs, and that's fun to watch. Price: If you've done what I've said, and gotten yourself a damn good steak, then you'll be happy to pay the price they charge. I'd pay more, especially when i'm full and satisfied with the entire meal.

I would come here more often if it wasn't always so crazy busy all the time. I love me some red meat with a fat baked sweet potato. Of course the sauteed mushrooms and green beans is must and you gotta love the free dinner rolls. Service is pretty much what you expect from a chain, not bad but certainly not good.

Wow, I finally..FINALLY gave this place a try!! Dang, all these years Ive missed out on a great place for succulent, juicy, yummy steaks. My bf and I had planned on coming so many times before but never happened. It was late, like around 10pm.. we had an hr before they closed. First walked in and immediately felt like a cowboy, on a ranch somewhere, and the bar somehow reminded my of coyote ugly. We got seated in by the bar, and our waitress was super cool! She made my first experience very comfortable. Friendly, fun, and helpful. We ordered the baby cactus blossom, bbq ribs, 10oz ribeye steak, and it came with 2 sides.. i got the loaded baked potatoe and loaded sweet potatoe topped with marshmallows! Everything was delish!! But the bread and cinnamon butter kinda filled us up a bit including our baby onion blossom appetizer. So, we took the rest home.. we were only in there for 30 mins or so. Plus it was late, harder to eat more. I just cant wait to bring my family here one day, i know my dad will love it! I recommend bringing family and friends here for an affordable fun time.

Alright you guys, I'm usually a chill ass bitch. I don't throw a fit when I have to drink warm beer & not even a peep about drinking *warm beer that is PBR*. I've eaten roadside headmeat in Mexico, nasty ass silkworm larvae, durian, freaking ROADSIDE BALUT IN VIETNAM, etc. You get the point, I'm always down with food. HOWEVER, O M F G. I was really excited about Texas Roadhouse because of all the other reviews, but maybe I should have read a little closer because the smothered chicken was effing terrible. It was the TOUGHEST & DRIEST piece of leather I have ever tried to eat in my life. I could barely chew that shit. Now, I *NEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER* send food back to the kitchen (seriously, I don't, ya'll), but this was just one instance where I couldn't keep eating what I ordered. I was actually rather offended that they thought they could serve me such awfully prepared food. & it wasn't just my chicken dish either -- I tried my baby brother's bbq chicken & his was just as tough. They just don't seem to do chicken breast right at all. Despite the godawful chicken, the bbq ribs are actually really good. They were very tender & the bones fell right off, as they should. Buffalo wings were okay, but could have used more buffalo sauce. & that complimentary bread -- delicious! My brother did find pieces of cheese in his applesauce...... um, okay Texas Roadhouse (why am I not giving this place one star??)....The service was not too attentive, but the restaurant was pretty busy, so I can understand. Also, they took my entree off the tab, so it was a relief to know that I didn't have to pay for crappy food. I would probably head back to try their steaks & have ribs again, but definitely NOT for chicken. Good god, just take that shit off the menu!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!@!11

Oh yeah! My favorite place to grab a steak, I love this place. The atmosphere is fun and you never have to wait very long for a table. The menu is very affordable and you get allot of food for the money. One of the perks is the bread! It's delicious and served hot with cinnamon butter. You have the option of picking out your own steak from a display counter, but i just order from the menu. I'd love to try their desserts, but I'm always so full afterwards I don't have any room.

why am i wasting a review on just plain, bad bbq? the ribs were tough and dry with gallons of bbq sauce poured on top to hide the leather texture. the bbq chicken was again dry, but at least they didn't insult me by serving it with sauce on top. what's so great about the bread? i've had waaay better at Nugget market. they get the 1 star for the friendly wait staff, but maybe the smiles were to make up for the bad food.

Gotta be one of my favorite steak and ribs restaurants. The meat on the ribs just falls right off the bone. The rolls with the cinnamon butter are awesome. I always get the "loaded" mash potatoes as well as one of my sides.

This place is pretty good but I can't come here much anymore because it's hard for me to choose the healthier items on their menu. "LOL" Ribs are to die for !! that's why I can't go back.. LoL .. I might go into relapse just from the smell !! Best of all if you can't find anything great on the menu the bread they serve while you wait is yummy yummy !!

I am possibly a bias, or I AM... having 'grown' in SF, I really don't expect much surprise for dining in Elk Grove /Sac Area for regular large-scale aunts and uncles and cousins family gathering. This place no exception. We are firstly welcome with peanuts and floors carpets with peanut shells... looks funny but not with my flip-flops. I couldn't eat more peanuts while I was wondering the history of those shell dust on my toes. Another greetings by the warm bread, that was actually soft and tempting, but personally my tongue got exhausted with all these crunchy peanuts and soft bread with sweet and creamy cinnamon cream. Prime Rib is always my family's favorite, so I couldn't count how many prime rib dishes on the table. I am always the one having some odd choices so I ordered myself a burger instead, and surely I could still share a bite of prime rib from each plate (ha ha ha) Finally, I was too full and so hard for me to finish half of my burger, after all of treats before my entree. I packed my burger, whereas others packed some peanuts back home as they were so happy to bring their experience of cracking nuts at home.

3 1/2 stars for me. I love the rolls. Reminds me of señorita bread. Other then that I like that you can grub on peanuts as you wait for your food and take down a couple brews. So far the food to me is mediocre but I still need to come back and try the other things on the menu. This place is pretty loud, crowded and got a few T.V.s up at the bar. Customer service is good.

The food here is great! A few of my personal favorites are the Sirloin Steak and the Fall Off the Bone Ribs. The staff is friendly and as long as you remember to take advantage of Call-Ahead seating you shouldn't have too wait long. I love the complementary bread rolls with cinnamon butter and I always enjoy coming here.

So this is what the night life in Elk Grove looks like on a Saturday night. When we drove into the rather full parking lot we knew we were in suburbia when patrons were spilling outside using their iPhones while waiting for a table. We were told that it was a 20-25 minute wait for a party of 3. After 20 minutes I went back to check with the host and she informed me that they were behind so it would be another 15-20 minutes. Luckily we found a couple of empty stools at the packed bar and entertained ourselves with strawberry banana margaritas (which tasted like Jamba Juice by the way). The bartender also offered us bread to munch on while we waited. I have never been here before and didn't know what to expect, but the freshly baked rolls were delicious! And the cinnamon butter? Oh my, what a lovely surprise! 2 Dallas Filets (a 10 oz. filet mignon is humungous!) and a Ribeye + Ribs were ordered. I was relieved that we decided against ordering a baby cactus (a smaller deep fried onion than the texas cactus) because we were stuffed! Needless to say I took home half my ribeye and half my ribs. The ribs were really good, fall off the bone good. I ordered my steak medium and my friends ordered theirs medium rare and all the steaks came out just a touch over-cooked. Next time I may just order medium rare... Oh yeah, they play all country music. Every once in a while they play the cotton eyed Joe song and some servers start dancing. It's kind of half-assed dancing, but I guess it adds to the ambiance of this peanut shell filled restaurant.

We went out for dinner for my parents anniversary. I ordered 10 oz Prime Rib dinner. It was perfect cook. Ribeye steak was great. My mother say her ribs are dry. The waitress is very nice to replaced the ribs, but the ribs still little dry. The rest of the foods are great. My parents love the rolls with cinnamon butter spread. They ate lot rolls while we waiting for foods. Waitress did great job serving us foods and drinks. My parents are so happy. We definitely will come back again.

The food was great, just like what the reviews had said they would be. Good place to eat if you're looking for a fulfilling dinner, went here for my bday & I was full after (1) rib, a couple of bites of steak & mainly the ROLLS! 3 incidents that happened that night, never cease to amaze me though. 1, got the wrong meal BUT was given the wrong meal as an extra; 2, Waitress forgot my friend's sodas, but only charged them for 1 & 3, a miscalculation of the bill occurred which lead to confusion of why there was an extra $10 charge. Fixed the mistake, but left us a little sour about the waitress. She was great the whole night until the bill incident. Either way, she fixed up each mistake.

Saw this place on one of Food Network's specials and wanted to try it out for a long time. When I finally was able to go, it has become one of my all time favorite BBQ places I've been to thus far. I was soooo skeptical about this place BECAUSE I'm from Texas. I was ready to criticize everything, but I was quite surprised. The peanuts all over the floor thing is kind of amusing, as is the random dancing by the waiters & waitresses when it's busy. The food was phenomenal! Everything is made from scratch. My favorite thing is the bread w/the cinnamon butter. Every time I go, I order the fillet medallions w/the brown mushroom sauce. I'm never able to finish the dish and have lunch for the next day. Their drinks are also pretty good as well. They're great about changing it for you if you don't like it (but that hardly happens). Everybody we have taken here has also loved the place. Definitely a great place to go w/friends. Though the wait may take awhile, it's totally worth it! Side note: I like this location better than the one in Union City. The food isn't as up to par for some reason..

please call ahead seating on the weekends!!! weekdays are okay. I LOVE their bread and cinnamon butter! i always ask for one togo on our way out and they are always happy to pack it up for me. i always get the combo beacause it is the best deal, and i always have left overs, so its great for lunch the next day. I love their bbq chicken, fall off the bone ribs, and steak, their shrimp is okay but overly priced. my favorite side is their house salad, because it comes with eggs!! and their croutons are very crunchy and tasty as well. their rranch dressing is thick and super tasty! food, i will give it 5 stars, but sometimes the servers will forget about you, so took one point away for server's forgetfullness and attention that we give them tons of tips for.

Nice change of pace. Logan's Roadhouse is decent but I also enjoy Texas Roadhouse as well. Went there on Tuesday, it was a little loud initially but died down quickly as the night wore on. I had a sirloin kabob, my comrade had..a 6 oz steak? Doesn't matter, really, as the food was really good. The waitress was attentive, the cofee was so-so but the tea was wonderful. Overall a nice experience, and it's been our third visit--our perhaps our fourth, if you count the time I drove there for lunch and found out they weren't pen until later in the day. (Boo.)

This is one of my favorite places to get bbq. great atmosphere and very friendly service. you will probably have to wait awhile it's always crowded. i waited about 20-30 minutes the times i went. but it was well worth the wait each time. Food was great!!!can't go wrong with the free peanuts. if you don't get any before the meal just ask a waiter for the peanuts and they will gladly give you a bucket or a lunch bag full of them to take home. i took 3 bags home after my meal! i ordered the ribs and they fell off the bone so easily, they were so tender and juicy. bbq was tasty and had a good smoke to it and still had some sweetness and tang to it. the bread with the cinnamon butter was great, veryyy addicting. it always comes out fresh and hot. if youre in the area and craving bbq you should try this place.

BRING ON THE MEAT....The food is NOT as bad as some of the other yelpers have pointed out...it truly depends on what you get...like any other restaurant. Parking however was a nightmare, we circled their lot at least 3 times before spotting someone leaving the restaurant. Bad sign, we knew the wait was going to be long, especially for a group of 7 with no reservations. I was mentally preparing for the wait when my niece hands me a handful of peanuts (4 in her case, small hands). I thought well at least they have snacks. Now where to put the shells? Again my niece leads the way tossing the shells on the ground. I was about to say something when I looked down, and realized everyone was doing tossing the shells on the floor. With a barrel of roasted peanuts in the waiting area, and so many shells on the floor it gave the entrance a barn feel. It was unexpected. Our large party was given the option to wait 1 hours to sit close to each other OR 30 minutes for 2 tables in random parts of the restaurant. We went for the faster option and I'm glad we did because I don't think I could have held out any longer. I'd been staring at the menu for 30 minutes already so I knew exactly what I wanted so we wasted no time staring at it again. 1. Killer Ribs appetizer - GREAT ribs, falling off the bone, a little dry but still great. The steak fries were yummy, really well seasoned but if you don't like salty fries or too much seasoning you may not like them. Order a side of ranch to dip them in, heck dip them in the BBQ sauce. 2. Fillet Medallions - Super tender and soo good. The rice however EXTREMELY salty even for me and I like salty... ;) The loaded baked potato, well come on how can you get that wrong? 3. New York Strip Steak - Steak was good. Mashed potatoes w/ brown gravy (not so good), and house salad (very good) Our server was attentive, nice and timed the meal perfectly, everything came out when it was supposed to and the food was ready when we were. Unfortunately by the time our dinners came we had overdone it with their bread, the cinnamon butter was kinda odd for me but it wasn't bad. I liked the bread without it. Did I forget to mention they provide entertainment as well? The music starts they do a dance routine, everyone laughs, oh wait that was just me, and then they go back to being waitresses. I'm giving them a higher rating just for their service and because they seem to contribute a lot to the community. Next time....the ribs, sirloin and who knows what sides. Maybe their mac and cheese, or sweet baked potato, or maybe the chili oh wait that may be too much meat.... Or not.

I tried it out because my bf gave into all the hype that Texas Roadhouse is the best place for steak. Not bad. But defintely not great. For the price, the portions are good. Steak was juicy but lacking flavor. With each stake you order, you get two sides. Good portion there too. You can choose fries, mashed potatoes, salad, baked potatoe, greens, etc. All in all, decent food for a happy price that will leave you full.

Wow! Friendly atmosphere, the food is out of this world! Peanuts by the lobby while you wait. Peanut shells on the floor, which gives the place that Texas feel. The steak kabobs are to die for! The steak kabobs are set with mashed potatoes, Spanish rice & cooked bell peppers/onions. The waitresses are super attentive, friendly and they all are wearing big smiles. Coffee, whiskey and Coke are right on Q. Jeri Smith, the friend that went with me says she tries to hit this restaurant up once a month, because of the great service and great food! Reasonable prices too! I will be going back! Paul Dale Roberts

I love this place!!! I waited so long to try after all those wonderful compliments about their steaks. For a long time, my husband decided that he should cook his own steak instead for the price and the quality. But one day we had the opportunity, thanks to my sis and bro-in-law who treated. This place is down to earth because of the peanut shells on the floor...totally not fancy at all and that's why I love it. Oh, the cinnamon rolls were a killer to my stomach, they were so good I couldn't resist. The waitress was so nice to give us a box to take home. Most of their steaks were cut from the house except new york and one other. The steak was good. Oh, you have to order the baby cactus blossom. They're deepfried onions served with horseradish sauce....so gooooooood!!!!!!!!!!!!

This place is pretty nice! At first when I walked in, it was like super dark.. but I think this place would be great to go on a date or something lol. The steak takes a really long time to come out if you want it to be well done. The waiter did a really good job. He kept coming back at our table to see if everything was okay.. Free refills on drinks I believe. You must try their bread! It's super good & did I mention its unlimited.

I am a big critique when it comes to steak and BBQ places. My wife and I decided to go here after years of seeing it from the freeway and friends talking about how the like this place a lot. We were starving so our palates might be a bit skewed today, but everything tasted really good! We were seated quickly and with a hot bread basket placed at our table. For appetizers, we ordered killer ribs and snake bites. Both tasted delicious. For our entrees we both had rib eyes. The ribs came right off the bone and the rib eyes were tasty and juicy! I almost forgot the service. Our waitress was great! She came back asking questions, and we didn't have to ask for a refill! This is definitely not a high class steak house, but for a regular steak house, this has got to be one of the top ones.

3 stars because they gave me my steak raw. I mean really, really, RAW. They probably only put my steak on the grill for about 5 minutes. On the exterior of my steak, everything looked good, but when I cut into the steak, the middle was horrifying. The blood was still maroonish, thick, and coagulated. I showed my waitress, and she constantly apologized for the food because she has never seen the steak sent out like that. I eventually got another steak, and also a coupon for a free appetizer for the next time I come in. My second steak was a lot better. Very scrumptious and cooked a great medium rare. The bread here is great. Always warm, and the cinnamon butter is the best. I'm not that big a fan of the peanuts, especially the throwing of peanut shells on the floor, but it's a part of the restaurants atmosphere. I do plan to come back again and use my coupon for a free appetizer.

Texas Roadhouse, I love you even if you are a chain restaurant. I hate you for making me order your rolls and cinnamon butter to go because that is how delicious they are. I'm pretty sure my butt does not appreciate it. And for all you Yelpers out there, if you have a peanut allergy STAY AWAY!! The "charm" to this place is that you can eat out of the barrels of peanuts available in the waiting area and near your tables, and throw the shells all over the floor.

Not the best tasting steaks here, but the dinner rolls were really good. When me and my two friends walked in, they were quick to seat us. But the table they tried to seat us at was still dirty and needed busting. So we waited until they just gave us another table. Our server was nice.

We were there on July 4th and the ribs were not what we were hyped to believe. Our neighbors raved about the ribs, so we jumped in the car and decided to enjoy a nice meal. What a let down. The ribs weren't tender or juicy. They were, bland, dry and tasteless. What a downer after driving from Live Oak. We will never, ever return to the Elk Grove location of Texas Roadhouse. For a positive, friendly and fun time take the drive to the Fairfield location.

What an absolute blast this place is! Servers are prompt and fun and the food is great! Not to mention how much you get. All entrees come with two sides. The BBQ is to die for, especially the ribs. They are juicy and tender. The waiters will even line up every 30 minutes or so to line dance! Lol! The only real downfall for this place is weak and overpriced drinks. Other than that, enjoy!

Went here with the family a few nights ago. We were starving from moving them into their new house, and I found this place on Yelp since we were all in the mood for a late night steak. Despite it being Friday night, I didn't need the call ahead seating service- I called and was told that they didn't have a wait time for seating. The place is loud, and I was worried that my grandmother wouldn't like that but it didn't seem to matter to her so much, especially after the food arrived. We had their fried onion baby blossom (which is misnamed- the thing is huge) and we also got the fried pickle slices. Delicious, both of them. The flavor of the steaks and ribs... absolutely fantastic. Cooked to perfection. I had a loaded baked potato and a little piece of it was the only thing left on my plate when I cried "uncle!" I'm sad I don't live up here because this place is so amazing. Not just the food, either- our server was a guy named Julian and he was probably the best server I've ever had at a restaurant. No forced cheeriness, no fake corporate politeness, just pure happy-to-be-here service. Best steakhouse ever.

Fantastic BBQ dinner for a great price. My wife and I had dinner there for the 1st time and was blown away at the amount of people eating there on a Thursday around 6pm. The place was packed! As we entered the hostess took as to our table and she also had in hand a basket of freshly baked dinner rolls. The sweet rolls were good, even better with the sweet butter spread. Our waitress, Lynette was very attentive. I had the sirloin steak and my wife had the steak and ribs combo. Let me tell you, the steak was tasty and the ribs were pretty good. The sides, loaded sweet potatoes, fries, and seasoned rice were great companions to a good meal. This place I will go to again to try the other goodies on their menu. If you are in the mood for BBQ and are in the area of South Sacramento...gotta go to Texas Roadhouse!

My wife and I had a gluttonous celebratory date night at Texas Roadhouse in Elk Grove last night. We love this place! It's really no different than the one in Louisville. There may be a few more rednecks at the Roadhouse in Kentucky, though. A few more dudes in cowboy hats yelling "git-r-done" or "yeehaw". The Roadhouse in Louisville also has a large Muhammad Ali painting on the wall while the Elk Grove chain has the Sacramento Kings. The service at Texas Roadhouse was top-notch. Our waitress was most excellent. Fun, bubbly, happy. Not fake. The servers all wear tight jeans and tight shirts. They also do some country line-dancing for an appreciative audience. We ordered the big-ass beers at the bar before dinner. The Sam Adams Octoberfest was smooth. We were seated quickly and served some of their fresh baked dinner rolls. Skip the butter...you don't need it. As the country music was cranking over the loud speaker we also cracked open a few peanuts and tossed them on the floor. If I could only do that at home! The 16 ounce NY steak was cooked perfect medium rear. I like the pink in the middle. hehe. Tender, juicy, flavorful. The baked potato was delish with the butter, cheese, bacon bits. I also enjoyed the caesar salad. I ordered another big-ass Octoberfest and my wife had some fruity drink. The celebratory date night of gluttony set us back about $80.

I came here with a friend last night because he was craving some steak. My country fried sirloin with mashed potatoes was okay but I probably wouldn't go out of my way just to have it here. The service was a little slow, but it was really busy so it was understandable. Plus, our server, Alejandra was pretty nice about everything.
